  1. Martha’s Vineyard should load up a couple busses of busy body Karens, tell them there’s a Starbucks adding a 200% surcharge to Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Texas, and tell them the manager lives at the governors mansion.
  2. Was bugging me because Lindell looks just like Stan or whoever from the 90’s tv series of It…and that’s the only pic I could find of him in the fridge. I’ve got another obscure doppelgänger…”there’s grandma now, I’ll introduce you” Edit: fuck it I can’t even find a good pic. It’s the mustached corp lackey from Time Chasers, an MST3k classic
  3. “I made it guys! I’m with the FBI now”
  4. Thanks. I don’t follow too closely but read enough about airlines/tech to extrapolate the broader picture, I guess. If it’s a generally global issue that no one has silver-bullet solved then I’m not going to lay blame directly on the government, no matter who is in charge…but excessive PPP loans with no oversight/repayment, exec pressure on the fed to depress rates for years, or current admin not raising rates earlier are things I don’t approve of. Crowing about student loan forgiveness seems stupid as fuck (but not unexpected) when I’m still bitter about the ‘middle class’ tax break…it even benefited me a little, but seemed to mostly help the Fortune 500 during a boom time that should have padded the coffers for the inevitable bear.
  5. Can someone school me better on inflation? Obviously the Party Of No gang will point fingers at recent legislation meant to help people and do some legit investing…but I thought the main drivers were a surge in demand following Covid relaxations, compounded via slower recovery on the supply side (particularly long lead items), and aggravated by excessive monetary policy (artificially low rates, relief spending, etc). What am I missing? There was a lot of pressure to keep prime rates low, ‘Dow 25k’ hats, dumbass ‘middle class’ tax break and the poorly-managed loan program in the US…but it’s a global problem. Airlines are a perfect example, canceling flights due to lack of equipment and crews, contracting too far too fast in the interests of short term financial performance + assuming Covid lockdowns / demand suppression would last far longer. Rates needed to be raised while the supply-side catches back up and cool demand a bit. It’s gonna suck, for awhile. Maybe super-lean manuf chasing low overhead isn’t optimal for all industries. Throw in climate change. There’s no easy answers, right? Not shocked the usual suspects blame Biden when it seems these seeds were sown ages ago. It’s an outrage no matter what a Dem admin does or doesn’t do. Seems this shit always follows a ‘low taxes, no regulation’ admin.
  6. Needs the Jackass crew out there
  7. On a side note I’ve found those post-credits, post-preview rehash videos to be quite useful. Helps frame up the past hour and delve into character motivations that aren’t always clear during the episode.
  8. I don’t know if any of y’all follow Jon Bois/Secret Base/Fumble Dimension but damn if he doesn’t look like the coach they created when trying to get the Lions to win a game using a single play
  9. I def wanna go visit this pleasure house though
  10. Yes I am. I’ll tone it down. I’ve never fully adjusted to actually being competitive, and let the ISU/OU/CMU/Baylor heart breaks cloud the incredible overhaul Gundy has made in the program. That being said, it was 0-3 in the first quarter when I posted that and they were torching our defense with huge plays. I don’t trust Mason yet to make good adjustments at the half like we did under Knowles. Spencer was looking at a pick-happy game again. I was also coming up on a strong D9 gummy and was weirdly amped. Put that energy to good use later with my wife, but as the game was getting started I was in a weird headspace. But point taken, I’ll STFU on doom and gloom
  11. Herm a little too conservative for his own good there, especially early on.
  12. I mean, you sorta hate a lot of things. So keep on keepin on, man
  13. I’d say we are about to get bit by the upset bug, but after seeing how bad CMU really is…got shit pushed in by S Alabama…I’m not sure it’d be an upset at all today if ASU stomps us. Defense is bad.
  14. I figured they’d end up 8-4 once again, but now I’m looking for the Ass Eaters Dot Com bowl
  15. That was a championship timeout right there Jimbo
  16. That drop + the bs roughing call is gonna bail aggy out here
  17. Notre Dame, providing name-brand wins at Great Value pricing year after year. Thanks for the Fiesta win last year
  18. All I gotta offer up is the greatest gif I’ve ever seen
  19. Agreed, things have sure changed a lot over the years.
  20. He’s gonna get folded in half if he keeps running the ball like that.
  21. Three thousand years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax…
  22. Yea…auto correct is a bitch
  23. Hell that works on a lot of levels for people that don’t rise to GOAT status too. The level of drive it takes to reach premier levels of success usually means you have to be, by definition, very self centered. There are exceptions. A dude I’ve known for decades is being groomed for VP at my employer, but already loathes office politics and works 12hr days as it is…he’s weighing letting his career stagnate as a Sr Director so he can have a life outside work. My father started off as a 2LT Air Force reservist but defied odds to retire full bird AD and is one of the most humble folks I know. Both have endless stories about the cut throat, professional dickheadedness most of their peers possess. Personally I put career growth on hold so I can be a present husband and father. I work hard when I have to but otherwise relax when able. I won’t be a VP and I’m fine with it. My goals are to earn a living so I can do fun things with my kids to wear them out so I can hang their mom in the weekends. But to each their own.
