  1. Blacks on Guadalupe does not belong on that list.
  2. I see some skepticism about this buck being expressed on the Texas Buck Registry FB page, too. https://www.facebook.com/TexasBuckRegistry/ Update: Interesting that this FB page has now edited out some earlier comments about potential escapees from some breeding farms in that area.
  3. Possibly, but here is the Army publication about the great success of last year's youth hunt at the Red River Armory: https://www.army.mil/article/255211/hunting_season_great_success_at_red_river Her is young Ms. Brewer's deer harvest there last year: And another from the article: One of these things does not look like the others.
  4. I'm not buying that as a low-fenced buck in Bowie county unless somebody first clipped his breeding tag and then released it into a low-fenced pasture before harvesting it.
  5. What is the sauce for? Are you also whipping up some burgers and fries to go with the sauce?
  6. That's got to be David Barrow, Jr. The original developer was David Barrow Sr., who passed away in 1972. https://www.statesman.com/story/news/2018/06/27/life-flourishes-on-both-sides-of-northwest-hills-in-austin/9997730007/
  7. FIFY. Mesa was a dirt road from Spicewood Springs to near Tallwood until right around the time that Anderson High School was completed in 1973.
  8. Nice deer. He looks pretty mature. My guess is that this is a good as he gets. Definitely worth watching closely and considering as a cull candidate.
  9. Cannot be said too often. Carry on.
  10. I bet I ate a chopped brisket sandwich and a bag of Fritos at Bailey's BBQ at least 2 times a week in the 80s and 90s when doing stuff in federal court in Cowtown. And I always had a schooner of beer with lunch at Angelo's on Friday afternoons!
  11. Way too many places just heat up Sysco bags. Gross.
  12. There was one in Dallas near Highland Park. It was decent, but I'll always remember that place as where I watched Fred Akers and the Longhorns lose to Rice on a rainy night.
  13. What a fuck-up. That guy will be lucky to be working anything other than fast-food, if that. Not sure that he can be trusted.
  14. Props for the Herdez avocado hot sauce. Really good stuff.
  15. I find it increasingly easy to choose the "no tip" option, then leave cash in the jar or give it directly to the server on the way out. I try to never put a tip on a credit card -- there is no telling where that money is actually going.
  16. Lots of nice equipment heading out of Austin this afternoon after the Formula One race. This is just the most recent 40 per FlightAware, the big exodus began after 3:30 or so. I bet that the FBO's were slammed this weekend: Departures: Austin-Bergstrom Intl Airport (Austin, TX) [KAUS] Ident Type Destination Departure Estimated Arrival Time Arrival N101UD GL5T Orlando Intl (KMCO) Sun 06:10PM CDT Sun 09:08PM EDT AOJF1 Sun 06:09PM CDT XA-CGG HDJT Sun 06:07PM CDT C-GNVI LJ45 Windsor (CYQG) Sun 06:01PM CDT Sun 09:36PM EDT EJA706 CL30 San Jose Int'l (KSJC) Sun 06:00PM CDT Sun 07:18PM PDT N609JS GA6C Portland-Hillsboro (KHIO) Sun 05:48PM CDT Sun 07:07PM PDT N4HD F2TH Dallas Love Fld (KDAL) Sun 05:46PM CDT Sun 06:20PM CDT N11HM GALX Snohomish County (KPAE) Sun 05:42PM CDT Sun 07:40PM PDT N765WM GALX Dupage (KDPA) Sun 05:41PM CDT Sun 07:42PM CDT FTH246 C750 Montreal-Trudeau (CYUL) Sun 05:40PM CDT Sun 09:49PM EDT EJA606 C68A Baton Rouge Metro (KBTR) Sun 05:35PM CDT Sun 06:24PM CDT XA-ATL GLF5 Sun 05:30PM CDT N810BE C560 Van Nuys (KVNY) Sun 05:27PM CDT Sun 06:51PM PDT LXJ406 E545 Kearney Rgnl (KEAR) Sun 05:26PM CDT Sun 07:03PM CDT JTL9 C680 Eppley Airfield (KOMA) Sun 05:24PM CDT Sun 07:10PM CDT N912KT PRM1 Clinton National (KLIT) Sun 05:23PM CDT Sun 06:34PM CDT EJM21 GLF4 Teterboro (KTEB) Sun 05:18PM CDT Sun 09:25PM EDT XA-KVD Sun 05:15PM CDT N599HG GLF5 McClellan-Palomar (KCRQ) Sun 05:15PM CDT Sun 05:49PM PDT TWY81 GLF5 Van Nuys (KVNY) Sun 05:13PM CDT Sun 06:03PM PDT N660CC BE40 Palm Beach Intl (KPBI) Sun 05:10PM CDT Sun 08:29PM EDT EJA827 C700 San Jose Int'l (KSJC) Sun 05:07PM CDT Sun 06:24PM PDT N350HH CL30 Phoenix Sky Harbor Intl (KPHX) Sun 05:05PM CDT Sun 05:08PM MST EJA257 CL60 William P Hobby (KHOU) Sun 05:04PM CDT Sun 05:37PM CDT Sun 05:37PM CDT LXJ522 CL30 San Jose Int'l (KSJC) Sun 05:04PM CDT Sun 06:29PM PDT
  17. Do you own a shovel? Pit cooking is the traditional (and a fun way) to do a feast.
  18. Crazy, those prices. Same for the packaged beef cheeks. Of course, when you buy the whole head (at old-school shops) -- they throw in the cheeks and the tongue for free!
  19. That is Aderet: https://aderetrestaurant.com/ Really good place. I'm a goyim, but have some observant clients that have taken me there for lunch meetings.
  20. That's exactly what I'm saying. There is no way for the IRS to know the circumstances of the payment. To them, a payment made to a taxpayer reported on a Form 1099 is going to be automatically classified as taxable income.
