  1. Even in this new era of "positionless" basketball, it's almost as though teams still need point guards.
  2. Wonder if TV execs are really going to stay with all these national telecasts of a team too dim to let its one budding megastar shine? We're already getting cutaways to more competitive games.
  3. Much of whatever they do will be meant to reassure the faithful that they're prepared to meet the shorthorn threat head on. That's never been more important to them than it will be going into 2024.

I mostly agree. But until we get past this multi-year stretch of big leads than turn into white-knuckle finishes, I won't blame any fellow Texas fan for being unsure of our prowess.
  5. One of the worst passing teams I've ever seen. Truly inept.
  6. Don't sleep on Joey McGuire. By now he's probably bored with dominating the B12 and has his eye on bigger game.
  7. He has many years left. Provided he chooses to become a one-man West Texas wind farm.

I fully expect Georgia to beat Bama. Beyond there, I have no feel for what it means to Texas.

I'm not in the locker room, but JWhitt seems to be regarded as the same kind of leader RoJo was. Total team player despite not getting too many moments in the spotlight this season. I'd love to see more passes go his way as these last few games of his Texas career play out, partly because it could lift the whole team. I especially hope he snags a TD against Tech in Austin. Anyone like JWhitt on D? I'd hope Ford, Barron or Sweat would be, but no clue there.
  10. Evidently there's buzz about Lanning. No clue if true, but Oregon folks seem edgy.
  11. It was the best of contracts, it was the worst of contracts.
  12. I'm glad we won TCU's Super Bowl in front of such a rabid crowd, especially since we went in with a gimpy QB. Had the game been back and forth all night and we won by 3 late, we'd probably feel way better about it. Same for the wins over Houston and K State. Maybe getting big leads every week makes us feel we're finally as good on the field as we are on paper. We can argue these games shouldn't be nearly as tense as they are, based on the overall talent gap. But the Texas hate farewell tour was almost bound to go something like this. I'm relieved it soon will all be history.
  13. A healthy Ewers might have scrambled for a first down or two tonight. Just one such conversion in the second half could have led to a more comfortable final margin. Hopefully next week Ewers is on a slightly longer leash and Brooks is close to 100%.
  14. I wanted 30 points. I also wanted to win by 30. Oh, well. Still feels way better than a loss. It's been a couple months since I thought we might be a worthy CFP team, so the fact we're not isn't a shock. I just want us to start putting these inferior teams away. Most of that is on the staff.
  15. Survive and learn and heal up. The best we can hope for now.
  16. What a half by Worthy and Sanders. Now get 13 some touches.
  17. They'll bury him a little shy of six feet deep.
  18. For having one of the best left tackles since the Mesozoic, we don't exactly seem to be grading the road over there.
  19. My ignore list grows longer by the game.
