  4. Hey neighbor, weather station in my backyard says 2.86 inches.
  5. I thought those were jokes, but now you have me second guessing...
  6. Any update? The only two ways I browse this site are both with activity streams, so to say this sucks right now is an understatement.
  7. https://goo.gl/maps/h1Lizyak6bD2C7iN9 This is an old neighborhood that the city of Bastrop did not approve for development in the 80's. They subdivided, and on maps, it looks like it has streets, but they are dirt. With a little mud, its a lot of fun, and it is public property, (the streets are technically city streets). Just stay off the lots, and you are good to go. (this was verified by both the city, and several times I have been out there, I have talked to Bastrop PD).
  8. There is a small place in Bastrop. This is my reminder to post when not hammered
  9. anyone got a good stream for the barge carnage?
  10. I made the whoopie slings and and those connect to a 6 foot section of amsteel with brummel splices on both ends. Then I bought some 12kn carabiners, and those connect to my stakes and the whoopee slings. The poles are Tensa Solo's, so they collapse down to the length of your forearm. When you buy those, you have the option to include the hardware with them, but I thought they were charging way too much for that, so I opted to buy just the poles and make everything else myself. The system works really well. https://www.tensaoutdoor.com/product/tensa2-hammock-stand-formerly-tiggzcraftworkz-carcamp-tele/
  11. Set up my Mantis and tarp for the first time this weekend. Set-up is so quick and easy. Also, I played with a suspension system that doesn’t need trees. I can now hang a hammock on the beach without anything else (or above the tree line, or if I only have one tree).
  12. Nice, what is the name of that vid? Asking for me.
  13. The newer WSR-88D stations that allow for Super Resolution are just awesome. The pixels are actually small enough where you don't have to have smoothing turned on anymore (I still like the smoothing). I mostly look at level 2 data, since they don't require pricey subscriptions like the level 3 stuff does, but it seems like more and more the tech is getting better and better (its not like 5-6 years ago where I would pay for the subscriptions during storm season). I'm hoping that the price of the equipment drops significantly soon, as there are still some dead spots that do not have good coverage (or in some places, no coverage).

  15. 2.5 inches in 45 minutes in 78748
  16. 8.03 total in South Austin
  17. Ambient Weather WS-2902a and the Ambient Weather App. It’s also great, cause it has a URL you can bookmark so you can see it on all your devices without an app, nor sharing it with friends/family.
  18. I’m in 78748, my rain gauge says 5.83 right now and still going up. Was raining at 6 inches per hour for a bit.
  19. This is an app called RadarScope, works on phones, tablets, and computer
  20. Died out, became a blob.
  21. My inlaws live in spitting distance of the TIAH radome, which it is headed straight for. (at Hooks).
  22. If you are in Tomball/Spring, this thing looks bad. Headed straight for my in-laws place.
