  1. It’s definitely long, especially if you hit the off-shoot loops along the way, but I wouldn’t say it’s overly technical or intimidating. Once you get your bike up and running again, and get your endurance back up (it’ll definitely test your lungs), I’d encourage you to make the trek because it’s a fun trail. The downhill lines are the only truly intimidating features imo. The pics and vids of the jumps and drops don’t do them justice. But the downhill area is easily avoided. I’m still working up the nerve to give that area a go, but they recently put in a bunch of dirt features and a jump line since the last time I was there that look pretty awesome.
  2. Are we really acting like they don’t already have the “disappointed from being left out of the playoffs/hearts not in it” excuse locked and loaded in their hip pocket if/when this exact scenario plays out?
  3. Damn man, that shit snowball just keeps rollin’ and growin’
  4. Wife and I were up there this weekend as well, for a quick fly fishing/mtb trip. Rode Coler, Slaughter Pen, and hit up the Railyard. The trails up there are just unreal. For anyone that hasn’t been or is unfamiliar... it’s mtb heaven. There are a literal fuckton of trails in NWA and they range from mild, flowy greens to butt-puckering blacks with BIG drops and jump lines.
  5. But the coffee in Peru is much hotter
  6. Haha, probably didn’t word that correctly. To be fair, I had to follow Johnny Sack’s post. But we are definitely ecstatic and I’m extremely impressed with her determination and patience over the past several weeks to get it done. Next step is getting her a nice axis with the bow.
  7. Nothing impressive, but wife got her first bow kill this morning in Fredericksburg. 25 yard shot, double lunged and ran only about 60 yards. She’s officially hooked on bow hunting. Had three more slightly bigger than this guy show up this evening that she decided to pass on in favor of a big mature doe, but one of the bucks pushed her out right as she drew back on it. One of those guys may regret that tomorrow morning.
  8. Weird. I call it the “my liver is definitely falling out this time” game.
  9. Tad wordy for a sign
  10. Jacks are a blast to catch on light line. One of my favorite fishing memories was from college... tying up to a rig at night and snapper fishing. The jacks were unloading on flying fish on the surface, so after I’d had my fun with the snapper, I tied on a top dog and wore out the jacks all night. My arms nearly fell off, but I couldn’t resist tossing back out again and again and watching the explosion of another jack after just a couple twitches.
  11. It’s about fucking time one of these gotdamn “(insert blowU qb) seems like he sucks” threads actually worked out
  12. Well then, how’s about he hurry the fuck up and get on the big hires already
  13. I had to do a double take, as this one looks nearly identical to my wife when she was that age.
  14. You can also check out the Pedals, Bikes, and Junk (PB&J) group on Facebook. There’s a pretty good variety of bikes from low end to high end that get posted there daily. Usually some good bikes at good deals, although the covid bike frenzy has gotten some of these sellers thinking they’re gonna take advantage and make bank over the last several months
  15. 2021 Scott genius. Picked it up yesterday and broke it in today by going over the bars on Northshore. Boneheaded mistake where I came in too hot on a drop into a creek crossing, which pushed me too far left and high into a right turn down into the creek. Over corrected in the air and dug the front wheel into the loose gravel at the bottom. Obliterated my helmet but no worse for the wear otherwise. Just another reminder of how important it is to ALWAYS wear your helmet. Very happy with the new ride though. It chewed up the rocks and roots and bit hard on the corners no matter how hard I leaned into them.
  16. Not sure I agree with you 100% on your police work there, Lou. Your “1” is a real butter-fa... wait... a real butter.... just.... butter
  17. Hear me out now... paint black sunglasses on the walkway so that the logo will have a permanent “deal with it” treatment
  18. Not sure where I saw it (thought it was this thread, but not finding it now), but it looked like the game clock and play clock had been moved down to the barricades with the decorative padding that was installed yesterday er... maybe it was just the play clock
  19. Welcome to Surly... I love you
  20. It’s been awesome so far. Haven’t had a chance to get it off the pavement much just yet, but I’m quite happy with it. Coming from two door wranglers, it’s been nice having all the extra room for camping trips when I’m hauling flyfishing and mountain biking gear that normally had my Jeep stuffed to the gills. That said, if you’re coming from a full size truck and actually use it regularly for it’s intended purposes, you may feel like it’s not enough “truck”. The bed it shorter as well as shallower than an F-150, so it can definitely be limiting at times. I got the max-tow option which claims to tow up to 7,600 pounds, which is more than enough to tow my flats boat (hell I used to pull it with my 2-door), but again if you do a lot of towing it might leave you wanting. None of that really bothered me as my wife drives an FX4, so I had a full size available when/if the gladiator just won’t do. Jumping to gladiator just meant less times that I had to steal her truck for jobs around the farm. But all that said, I haven’t had any issues hauling gear with it and am extremely happy with it. Zero buyer’s remorse.
  21. I’m pretty sure I’m done with weird hardline after today’s double dose of trifecta talk. They’ve ratcheted that shit up to a nearly daily segment, and it’s been annoying as shit. I used to put up with it when it was at most about a once a week deal, but after Mike retired, it seems Corby has decided to make it a staple of the new show and it’s simply a fucking beating. Musers (Gordo in particular), Dan, and Danny are what keep me listening throughout the day, but trifecta talk and bad Norm takes have become instant tune out. My two simple requests are to make BITH full time (Sorry Norm, prayers are with you but it was time for you to retire many years ago) and kill (or significantly reduce) trifecta talk. Do that and I won’t swap over to pandora from 10-noon and 3-7. Do it, Ticket, as I’m sure my one tick-mark in your ratings is seriously affecting your bottom line.
  22. A little photo dump for @utee94 Damn I miss that TJ
  23. Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that was what we kinda figured. The big problem was that it coincided with them shutting down the state parks, and we had planned on camping in the cimarron canyon SP area while we were there. We ski AF pretty often, but I still have yet to ride it in the summer, so that’ll definitely be next summer’s trip. Yeah, you aren’t kidding about needing the lungs (and legs) on some of the trails around breck. We did several of them a couple years back. Wife rode several with me, but once she ran out of gas, she became my personal shuttle service. Plan for this trip will be pretty similar to that one. Ride the free trails first full day, fly fish the Blue for several days, then ride Copper Mountain (did Keystone last time, which was awesome until I shredded a tire in a rock garden on a black and had to hike the bike the whole way down). Crossing our fingers we can nab the same camping spot. It’s hard to beat waking up to this view:
