  1. He wants to go back to the hotel.
  2. I’m not saying you’re wrong, only it’s more nuanced. Railroad employees still fall under RRTA’s 30/60 rule. States like Georgia also provide retirement packages for all state employees. They even have provisions to “buy” a year or two to get out early. The same applies to Civil Service employees under their CSRS plan. Add in Management positions within certain companies that are continuing to offer pension plans. Though all companies are different in how they determine whether or not one’s compensation package will include pension monies. And all boomers didn’t walk away with a pension. In fact if you dig into the numbers it’s actually pretty sad how many of my generations rank and file have nothing but SS to help to them through their remaining years.
  3. I was supposed to inherit one of these from my uncle. This is a pre Tag model Heuer. I remember my uncle keeping time on soccer matches with one of these while I was still in school in Germany in the mid 60’s. Fell in love with it the minute I saw it. Drunk ass aunt sent me a fucking Seiko when he passed. I was going to just go out and buy one for myself, but passed when I saw what they go for.
  4. That is actually interesting. By rule I’m not a tequila guy, same with gin. However I enjoy meeting people who know how to take those expressions and can turn them into something tasty.

    Landman

It’s an entertaining show. In fact I like most of Sheridan’s efforts. Is everything factual? Fuck no. It ain’t a documentary. So far as the beer debate, if it ain’t bourbon I drink this.
  6. I wondered about that. How did his kid not sign at Ohio State? Even if he sucks the added ESPN connection wouldn’t hurt in the current NIL landscape.
  7. How the fuck did a guy named Booger ever land an ESPN gig?
  8. I’m not so sure if 12 is a bad number. I’m old enough to remember the NCAA’s expansion in 1975. Yeah, initially there were snoozers, but it got better. So much so that the Cinderella thing really made it fun to watch. Given time I think this will improve too.
  9. So this is the same ND team that lost to the Northern Illinois Huskies, and beat aggy?
  10. Indiana isn’t that good, but I enjoy seeing a new name in the mix.
  11. About 30 minutes out of Augusta Georgia.
  12. That’s easily $2000 in my area, if you can find it. The only one in the antique collection that is higher is the William Lerue at $2500. I’m glad I bought them early in the bourbon craze.
  13. Here ya go. I’m one of the few who prefers the 44 deep sea-sea dwellers. I like it enough that other than a Panda Daytona I’m not buying any other watch. When I saw the 50 I realized we are doomed as a civilization.
  14. I wish they wouldn’t have settled. Discovery would have been entertaining.
  15. The shocker is ou really didn’t need to throw. Gooner embarrassed them using basically two rookies to roll them for 258 on the ground, while only giving up 70.
  16. It damn sure can try one’s patience.
  17. That is where I needed the hemostat. Those springs can really fly!
  18. It’s actually rather simple, or at least the way I went about it. First thing is buy a kit. This will include everything you need but the lower. I got one from PSA for a little over $320. If you are patient you will find they run sales and you can save another $20. Surprisingly it came with a 4150 chrome moly barrel and a forged 7075 T6 receiver. It was sort of a M4 knock off, 16” barrel with 1-7 twist, M4 adjustable stock, pretty much everything you will need. Trigger, buffer tube, pins, everything. Mine even came with Magpul sites. For the lower I just bought an Anderson at a local pawn shop. They made all of Colt’s LE branded rifles at one point. I’m not sure if they still do. But, it’s a mil-spec part. It set me back $70. Once you have those items it’s just a matter of sitting down and assembling it. Take your time, no special tools are really needed, but some special tools would speed up the process. Though I have the tools I purposely only used a small punch, a hemostat forcep clamp (for the front detent pin) and of course the buffer wrench. There are a vast number of YouTube videos that will walk you through the process if you’re a little uncomfortable on your first go. I would say the trigger will freak you out the most. Though once you install it you will laugh at yourself when you realize just how easy the process actually is. Give it a go, it is a fun way to spend an afternoon without breaking the bank. And there is a strange satisfaction firing it for the first time knowing you had a hand in it.
  19. It was a fun experience. The biggest thing I got out of it was I could have bought a ready to go rifle from a place like Bud’s for around the same price. So there really isn’t a cost savings. I guess it comes down to the satisfaction of assembling one vs buying one. How good are they? Well, unless you’re firing thousands of rounds, or looking for excellent accuracy I think they’re good enough to enjoy plinking on the farm.
  20. Just for fun I thought I should try and build the absolute cheapest AR possible. The criteria was simple….it just had to shoot safely. The best I could do was around $400. Anyone else try this?
  21. His LinkedIn profile shows he works for B2B sales since May of this year. Kind of an interesting company, but not what I expected he would be doing.
  22. I blame the third base coach. He hesitated, which caused the runner to slow. He rounds the bag with the run sign he beats the throw.
  23. This looks like it will solve my problem. I’m a dumbass for not reading the entire thread.
  24. That’s solid right there.
