  1. His idea of a Bedlam spring scrimmage sounds like a terrible idea. Fans would read way too much into it and the players, mostly backups, would probably get too chippy. Maybe if they agreed to make it a true scrimmage, like running sets or situations and not full blown drives, no scorekeeping, and basically a practice session for reps. Maybe that's what he was proposing, but the headlines and blurbs made it sound like a spring game.
  2. He's busy looking into right wing prop pages to figure out how to argue that trade deficits are bad so the calculation is basically correct and necessary. I mean the word deficit is right there in the name!
  3. Is it seriously the policy now that the US exports to Cambodia should equal imports from Cambodia? Is the US supposed to start making cheap t-shirts at slave wages instead of just buying them from overseas? Is the republican party now against free trade? I seriously cannot comprehend the party from top to bottom just going along with this after decades of being full blown proponents of globalization.
  4. It really isn't though. Aggy has always had tons of money and big money donors and it's gotten them jack shit. It's their culture. They will never, ever win a national title in a major sport. Ole Miss has found a way to fund the program to compete with other big dollar programs. As long as those resources are competitive it's at least equal to aggy and I'd say better because of the aformentioned culture anvil that permanently weighs them down.
  5. I hate to admit but I looked at texags for some shaunenfreude. Saw a few references to him.
  6. I saw they might want Steve Lutz from OKST? I mean I don’t want to start over again and would like to see how he does with a full recruiting cycle but wouldn’t lose much sleep if he took that job.
  7. One of the more incredible sports statistics of which I’m aware is that Nebraska basketball has never won an NCAA tournament game. Like, how is that even possible?
  8. Pretty sure I said it too, if you can get similar resources, there just isn't a big reason to go from Ole Miss to aggy, especially when you just got to the Sweet Sixteen. Why start over?
  9. A franchise that understands values of players and draft picks? Might be refreshing. Oh, and they’re not intentionally tanking the franchise itself. That’s good enough at this point.
  10. But he's proven he can win at Miss, why change now? My guess is he'll get a huge raise and NIL committment from Miss and stay. And we'll all have a big belly laugh. If he's looking for a better just below blueblood position, aggy ain't it.
  11. I meant out of college. It matters if you're valedictorian or top 5-10% out of college. At least early in your career. It matters a ton out of law school.
  12. I listened and was really disappointed that she ignored or glossed over several aspects of broader economic policy. She points out that the wealthy pay a vast majority of taxes overall, which is true, but doesn't once mention U.S. wealth disparity and its change over the last 50+ years. The fact that the top 1% or so control so much of the country's wealth is a problem not to mention how it affects the calculus. The boomer generation didn't have CEO's making 300%-400% more than the average worker and didn't have an investor class controlling so much of corporate profits. Instead, they shared in enough of that revenue to afford education, healthcare, have kids, buy a home and a couple of cars, take vacations, and still have a nice savings account, all while paying enough in taxes to build the federal interstate system and pay for expansion of roads, utilities, and infrastructure into the sprawling suburbs. A massive majority of today's working class lives paycheck to paycheck, can be bankrupted by a health episode, can't afford a home, can't afford to have kids, have to take on a lifetime's worth of debt to attend college, and not only lack savings but are drowing in credit card debt. There isn't much capacity for them to pay much more in taxes, meanwhile the people who control that much wealth continue to advocate for and get tax cuts while our roads and bridges and schools and rural hospitals crumble. She also mentions that the wealthy make a lot of money through capital gains that are taxed at a lower rate but doesn't discuss at all wheather it makes sense any more, especially for individuals, and considering that to gain wealth in that manner requires wealth to start, so the advantage is accessible to very few who are already wealthy. I just wasn't all that impressed with her presentation, felt like a Heritage Foundation white paper, which it basically was considering her admitted background.
  13. That kid should also realize that if he’s that good valedictorian or top 5 from UMass would open as many doors as an Ivy degree. About the only job left that requires Ivy seems to be US Supreme Court and Barrett broke through that one.
  14. Not to mention the idea that test scores are the end all be all of intelligence / merit is part of the stress and anxiety of admissions processes and is also absurd on its face. There is a lot that can be changed but there will always be limited spots at limited schools that lots of people want and lots of rejection. I think the biggest change that needs to be made is to do away with the idea that US News rankings are in any way meaningful. It’s not that hard to succeed with a degree from a mid ranked state school.
  15. Fuck Adelson, fuck Dumont, fuck Cuban, fuck Nico. After 15 years since leaving Dallas I’ll probably buy my first Thunder shirt. Done with these cunts. I’ll be back if and when they’re all fucking gone, so probably never.
  16. I figured it would settle itself down with a lot of mid guys not finding better situations and others seeing it’s a waste of time but I guess not. It should be the top performers of non blue bloods going blue blood, top lower division guys moving up, and some general shuffling for fit or location. I don’t know how coaches can do this shit every year with fucking everyone in the portal every year. I don’t know the answer but tell f players they can’t move is not it and we’re definitely not going back. Best I’ve seen is contracts so at least there’s a buyout involved but schools ain’t gonna do that either because it makes them a lot closer to employees with other rights. Just gotta stop caring about individual players I guess.
  17. How about 10 years, $78 million, no for cause provision. I bet that would get it done lol.
  18. Am I the only one who remembers this from the early days of audio file sharing? Pretty sure this would have been a top download on Napster which hit its very short peak my freshman year in college. It was literally everywhere for a few years.
  19. Lol at anyone treating this as a genuine conversation. UATX’s “merit based” admissions policy has fuck all to do with stress, anxiety, and depression caused by the current system. It means “not DEI,” nothing more, nothing less. It’s literally their sales pitch. Nobody attending there is doing so for educational offerings, it’s pure fucking virtue signaling.
  20. BTW, barely the dumbest thing I’ve seen today, here’s something else.
  21. Now do music. SXSW would be so kewl.
  22. Looks like Ana being Ana, in this case pretending that UATX is not a right wing grift for people whose entire personality is based on phrases like "anti-woke." And LOL at the tweet. "We're totally merit based, objective numbers only!" with the imediate qualification "pending basic eligibility and integrity check." You know goddamned well that phrase is doing some heavy fucking lifting. "Lack of integrity" can mean literally anything especially in todays environment. Social media post supporting trans rights? Participation in a "Free Palestine" rally? Photo holding a Black Lives Matter sign? Criticized Lord Elon? "Woke and therefore lacks integrity." They speak about gay people in terms of morality, i.e., integrity, so being openly gay would be "lack of intergrity" to these shitheads. Not that people like that would apply to this fake maga college, but for Ana to ignore the entire publicised premise of this "institution" is completely on brand.
  23. I suppose, but with that much poop, I’m not sure how it could be misjudged for gas. The magma pressure should be identifiable. This person needs better judgement and awareness of their own body.
  24. I’d eat that, nttawwt.
  25. Pitching coach Rob Walton should have been replaced at least two years ago. I doubt Holliday is fired but I don’t see how Walton can return. Our bullpen has been a massive liability for years now.
