  1. trump's speech has rallied his troops. and they said it couldn't be done. this thread is off the rails today. trump apologists coming out of the woodwork. nothing of substance to offer, just rah rah, bang the drum, in your face sucka! type shallow drivel. congratulations on the president sounding presidential. now we return you to the criminal, incompetent buffoonery that the administration has been thus far.
  2. 1) i thought it was a decent speech too, but that doesn't mean i'm going to vote for him. 2) these "independent" voters intrigue me. if you've ever listened to washington journal, you've noticed that 95% of the "independent" callers are republicans that either don't want to call in on that line, or are afraid of being called a republican.
  3. ms-13 are some bad dudes. and if they don't kill us they're going to take our jobs. double whammy.
  4. we all support the office of President. just because we don't like who you voted for doesn't mean what you think it does.
  5. Did you just wake up and realize we've been talking about her for 95 pages?
  6. great line out of true detective last week. ali tells dorff "please explain to me the trials and tribulations of being a white man in this country".
  7. The Way We Were The Notebook The Princess Bride Silver Linings Playbook Ghost True Romance
  8. I think the season has been great. They've redeemed themselves from last season and brought back some of the themes and nuances that made Season 1 so riveting. Best show on tv at the moment.
  9. can i still go 80 on it? it sounds like it's going to take me longer to get to santa fe now, so i vote no on this.
  10. it's like he's blind to the real issues.
  11. i'm surprised they haven't brought in edward lee yet, seeing as how he's a kentucky culinary fixture and a top chef alum.
  12. rumor has it she's pregnant.
  13. bourbon is my go to these days gin is my second favorite spirit. either with tonic or as a martini. beer is my third most imbibed. wine is fourth. red, though i am interested, and partake, in all wines and bubbly.
  14. Trump Gives Land to Shithole Country Trump Gives Land to Murderers and Thieves
  15. she may but lobo's point is that she is making enemies out of friends, and it's possible she doesn't realize how difficult she is making her road, when it was grooved for her. she has the looks, she has the brains, she has the youth, she has the enthusiasm. lots of upsides there but she's already gotten herself blocked from certain committees due to rankling pelosi. there is some truth to the adage to get along, you have to go along. we'll see how this shakes out. it's only been a month. i don't want her to get too complacent in the "going along" part, but how many elected officials have come in with idealism and a bartender's work mentality, to speak for the working class and the real people of the country, only to be silenced and disillusioned over time?
  16. those were three pretty talented chefs in the bottom 3. we're getting down to the muscle. am still thinking kentucky chick is the least talented left but damn if she didnt nail it at the right time. i'm shocked that the girl that threw up on the way, and so sick she looked like death, won the quickfire.
  17. They do not, however, return their leading rusher (Tre Watson), leading receiver (Lil’Jordan Humphrey), three honorable mention all-conference offensive linemen, their top three tacklers on the defensive line, their top two linebackers, and three of their top five defensive backs, including corner Kris Boyd, who led the team in havoc plays (tackles for loss, forced fumbles, and passes defensed). At 48 percent returning production, the Horns aren’t in the “guaranteed regression” range like, say, UAB and Fresno State. But Tom Herman’s recruiting classes are going to have to break through quickly if Texas is to live up to expectations. It may burn a little, but this is a fair projection to me. We lost a ton. We don't know how good our backups are yet. We're about to find out.
  18. Except that's not really true, when the "monopoly" is the government. Do you think national parks would be cheaper if they were privatized and there was competition? No, they are dirt cheap now because the government runs them. Every other civilized nation has public healthcare, and these are all capitalist economies and the sky didn't fall. I know it's a totally foreign concept to you, and change is scary, but it could work here. In my opinion, it's almost inevitable that we go to this kind of system.
  19. I would buy as many of those as you come across. Excellent values. I've tried two different store picks, one from Houston and one from Austin, and they were both outstanding.
  20. where's the fun in that?
  21. I don't remember the Hoyt's. Were they interviewed in one of the first 3 episodes? I knew the mom worked there but that's all I recall about them.
  22. Kentucky chick is where my money is on next eliminated. She, to me, is now the weakest link.
  23. I know vacation time is precious, but I think you're short-changing your family and yourself by trying to do that in two days. There is too much to see along the way. Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Carlsbad, all the national parks in Utah that are on the other thread, Monument Valley, Bandolier, Canyon de Chelly, etc.
