  1. Our HVAC guy came to do the spring check-up, as usual. I had the checkbook ready but once again, I got all flustered when I had to fill the damn thing out. I don't write checks often enough and I kept double checking everything, plus my pen died halfway through filling it out and it made me feel like a moron. I know he doesn't give a shit but I fucking hate it. And no, independent tradesmen in Oklahoma ain't taking your venmo or whatever the fuck apps you'd prefer to use to pay them. This ain't Dallas, buddy. Write a check.
  2. My buddy lived in a shitty part of Tulsa and finally had enough. He moved his family to Skiatook and loves it. He's pretty hick-ish, so it's right up his alley, he tells me.
  3. My co-worker's phone cord looks like this and it enrages me.
  4. I live in OK, have a CCL. I used to carry to and from work, as I drive through some shitty areas, but after my work schedule got change to WAH part time, I just sort of forgot about carrying. I got used to rarely going anywhere. My 9mm is in my nightstand, haven't touched it in months. Also have a 12 gauge in the bedroom closet. I think open carry is retarded.
  5. When you get a call at work and they start off with, "Hey, quick question for you...". It's never fucking quick.
  6. I never had that, but I did get a stream of diarrhea that shot over the fresh diaper I was about to use and landed on my pant leg. Not a drop hit the floor, I was both sickened and impressed.
  7. Ain't no Cherokee down that way. You're getting Chickasaw, AKA white chicks with (at best) 1/64 blood who swear they had an "Indian princess" in their family tree.
  8. Guy A owned the car, he sold it to his brother, Guy B. They never bothered to switch the title over. I bought it from Guy B. He gave me the title (out of state) and I followed the steps listed on my county's website (not in TX, BTW) and got my ducks in a row. Had to get a court order that told the state to issue a title in my name. The judge thought the steps her county provided weren't enough and kept trying to add extra shit. I finally pushed back enough to where she left to ask another judge his opinion on it. She came back 10 mins later and gave me what I wanted, meaning she could've had this wrapped up over a month ago. Fucking ridiculous.
  9. It's a long story so I'll cliff note it: After three fucking months, including two trips to court (fuck judges and their dumb shit BTW), I finally got the damn title for my Camaro. I dropped it off at the shop yesterday to get the front end looked at and a couple of other little things. Got some new seat belts ordered. Things are finally progressing, a little bit at a time.
  10. I tried the "say the last part first" bit on my wife a few years ago. She looked at me like I was speaking Greek and said "What?", before continuing her story. I took the L.
  11. WTF https://sjvsun.com/news/fresno/measure-e-is-back-heres-an-early-preview-of-the-measure-to-boost-fresno-st-athletics-academics/ Here's the relevant bit:
  12. She barely tolerates my dick, she couldn't deal with extras in the room.
  13. While out shopping this weekend, my wife and I drove by this little bar, I'm not sure of the name but it had "SPEAKEASY" in large letters on a mural. Please note that neither my wife nor I drink alcohol. Wife sees this and says "What's a speakeasy? Is that a swinger thing? Like a sex club?". I laugh and say no but before I can explain, she says "Is it a poetry slam?". I laughed so hard, I had a coughing fit. My chest still hurts.
  14. The guy only owned the zebra for for one night, according to the headline. Talk about bad luck.
  15. Oh, she still is.
  16. Today I learned that Dick Cavett is still alive. I could've sworn he died 4-5 years ago.
  17. Fucking Purdue trash LOLOLOLOLOL
  18. I didn't see this addressed in the game or the show, so anyone feel free to correct me but the whole point was that Joel is supposed to deliver Ellie to the fireflies in exchange for supplies. Guns, a vehicle, etc. He gets her there and Marlene tells him "I owe you" and her payment is to have Joel escorted to the highway and dumped. Not once does she mention paying him, not once does he ask about the payment he was supposed to receive. I can understand Joel not caring at that point but shouldn't Marlene have said "Hey, don't worry. You're getting the supplies we talked about. our men will hook you up"? Instead, she just stiffs him.
  19. If he ever leaves town, it won't be due to racist taunts. It'll be because he's tired of hearing the Iowa mating call of "STALLING! STALLING! " all winter and spring. /disgruntled OSU fan
  20. Like Texas last year, when no horns were drafted?
  21. How tony are we talking? Nichols Hills isn't a suburb per se, but a small municipality inside of OKC. It's what I'd consider "old money". Think of places where all the doctors and attorneys lived in the 60s & 70s. Large, older homes in a very secluded locale. Gaillardia is another rich enclave, Kevin Durant lived there for a while. It's pretty much just a country club with mansions built around it. Edmond is an actual "upper class" suburb, north of OKC. Pretty snooty IMO, I lived there (as a poor person) for 8 years. The traffic is horrible, though. Or do you want some semi-rural action? Deer Creek is a very popular choice, it's NW of OKC. Piedmont is another, it's out west. A good rule of thumb is just don't go south.
  22. Good for him. I wouldn't pay him that much, but all these guys need to strike while the iron is hot.
  23. They'll pay him millions of dollars. He's 31, not gonna get another big deal after this IMO. Taking the money is a no-brainer.
