  1. That wasn't a shank. That fucker was good. You'll never convince me otherwise.
  2. 10 years ago, this old woman in my office retired and I took over her position. She didn't clean out the cabinets in the cubicle, just took her personal shit and left. So I'm going through the drawers and cabinets and I found a 1977 agency phone directory. I still have that fucker and have no plans to get rid of it.
  3. Robert Hanssen was a respected, legitimate FBI agent and never appeared to be a piece of shit but look how that turned out. Sometimes people aren't what you think they are.
  4. As an OSU fan, I must recuse myself from any discussion of modern uniforms and their forward-thinking designs.
  5. Nobody else in that league seems to be using it, so why not let Oregon have a go?
  6. And because they never play in Norman and never notice it, no one on here talks shit about ou's narrow sidelines, either.
  7. He probably loved hearing that Empire carpet jingle. "Call 588-2300, Empiiiiiiiiiiiiire! TODAY!"
  8. I've tried this and it never works. They all reply to my email with some variation of "You have to come in person and see the car before we talk pricing". When I balk, they say "Oh well" and that's the end of it. They don't even write back after a few days to see if I'm still interested. Maybe it works better in a larger metro area that has more dealerships?
  9. If I'm Lebron, billionaire athlete who's pushing 40 and a guy with a lot of business ventures going on, I retire from the NBA and go be with my family. That shit happening to one of my kids is terrifying to think about. Fuck basketball.
  10. Agreed. Both of my folks came from poor/low class families. My mom's side came from Greece and I don't think my great-grandpa had a pot to piss in when he got off the boat, but I'll never really know. My folks busted their asses and sacrificed to get ahead and give me and my sister a great upbringing. I'll treasure that more than any physical item. But yeah, I wish my pop had bought a Rolex, dammit.
  11. I have two daughters, you do the math. But I do have a 3 month old grandson, maybe he'll want this shit.
  12. That's right but I know my dad, he's still alive and we have a great relationship. I just can't think of anything of his that I absolutely wouldn't sell, again if the money was good enough.
  13. I found a youtube channel over the weekend, a guy that repairs old watches, like Rolex or Omega. He repaired a Rolex for this woman, her dad wore it daily for 50 years and she fucked it up after she had inherited it. The value of the watch was about $30k. I got to thinking, would I sell the watch for that much? I think I would. Then I wondered exactly how much "sentimental" stuff do I have? Am I a sentimental person in any way? My grandfather died before I was born. All I have of his is a single shot 12 gauge and his pocket watch (some off brand). How much would it take to get those from me? If a guy offered me $1000 for the watch, I'd sell it in a heartbeat. Might take more for the shotgun, I dunno. I'm not broke, so maybe that makes a difference. My wife is different. She has this teddy bear, the last thing her dad ever bought her before he died (fuck cancer), she was 9. She has always said it was priceless to her but I asked, how much would it take? What if she was offered a million bucks? She said no but it would be tempting. Me? I'd like to think my dad would want me to sell the bear and enjoy the money. A million dollars is serious money. I racked my brain to think of anything that I just couldn't part with, if the money was right, and I got nothing. Am I just an emotionless robot?
  14. I just read that he won 17 of his 19 grammys AFTER he turned 60. What a fucking legend.
  15. It's the palm trees. They always catch me off guard when I drive into Houston. "Wait...what?"
  16. It would work if you picked the right actor. Chris Pratt would've killed in that role IMO.
  17. My dogs are annoying assholes and I use every insult and slur I know against them, almost every day. They take it like a champ.
  18. A guy that uses both "din-din" and "kiddos" in a conversation needs to to be slapped. What's next, "fur-baby"? Slippery slope and all that.
  19. My parents bought all kinds of crystal drinkware when I was a kid. After my mom died 15 years ago, my dad kept pushing us to take some. My sister took a few pieces but he keeps bugging her about it. Now she's trying to get him to pester me instead. Fuck that noise.
  20. My wife is a serial "like" abuser. She'll use the word 14 times a sentence. I tease her about it from time to time but it is pretty annoying. She told me one of her high school teachers just blew up on her one day, unleashed a "OH REALLY? LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE!!!" and embarrassed her. I said "But you never let her stop you. Good for you!". She was unamused.
  21. I love the thur/fri or 11:00 AM sat game for my team. Then I can fuck off and do whatever I want for most of my Saturday. I hate waiting around till 3 or 7 or God forbid 9.
  22. Or they just can't find anyone to work for peanuts. I doubt that many former athletes would turn down a fat paycheck to sit around and argue sports. Most probably do it for free in their spare time.
  23. His fin broke off his board and cut his femoral artery
  24. Reminds me of high school: "Bro, I had hot sex with this chick last night" "Who??? Tell me about it" "Nah, I can't"
