  1. While my post was mostly an attempt at humor, I think we can agree that there is certainly some NIL money being paid solely because an athlete being associated with a particular team makes people with money happy just like I'm sure the head honchos at Casa Olé laughed every time they saw José Lima wearing a sombrero, doing a shimmy and singing, "Casa Olé, Fresh Today! Every Day! Casa Olé!!!"
  2. Here is how understand NIL works using a real world example: Back in 1998 and 1999, José Lima was a starting pitcher for the Houston Astros, winning 37 games in two seasons and was selected to the 1999 National League All-Star team. This was so called "Lima Time" rocking and Casa Olé (Fresh today, every day!) signed Lima to a deal in which he appeared in television commercials promoting the fine Mexican cuisine and ambiance offered by the Houston area restaraunt chain. In 2000, José's heat lost its spice and he had a league worst 6.65 ERA and gave up 48 enchiladas. The Astros traded him the following season. Casa Olé paid him to advertise for them based on the idea that his successful pitching would cause fans to choose Case Olé for their fine dining needs and purchase more tacos, burritos, green sauce and the like. Once he was no longer an effective pitcher for the Astros, his value to Casa Ole deteriorated like old queso. His was not paid to play even if his value was derived from his successful play. In my mind, college sports NIL is the same. Being an athlete creates value but the contract does not require athletic performance. A specific player is valuable to local business seeking an NIL partner while a member of the local team. Once that player disassociates themselves from the local team, then value goes away.

  4. Notre Dame is so perennially overrated they probably just get the 25 ranking to just miss this list even when they have four or five losses.
  5. Imagine being so stupid that you don’t understand that primaries are how voters of a party get to democratically decide who the nominee is but, because he is polling bad, the party pushes him out and replaces him with the candidate of the choice of a few individuals.
  6. Gulfstream has a higher weight capacity. Elko is fat.
  7. Well Jimbo is a hobbit so that’s not saying much.
  8. Elko’s whole aura just screams mediocrity, which is just so on brand for aggy.
  9. Maybe Kegels would help 🤷‍♂️
  10. Sounds like we might be here for a Good Time.
  11. Please tell me more...
  12. Texas has more road milage than any other state by a significant margin with 683,533 miles. In fact, only 5 countries (not counting the United Sates as a whole) have more road mileage than Texas.
  13. Is the market good for used sheep in Eastern Europe?
  14. This game is hard to watch. Damn are these offenses trash.
  15. Is McElroy drunk? He thought it wasn’t a TD.
  16. How is it blind when the guy see it and braces himself?
  17. I love Banks being fired up after that destruction.
  18. 💯 I may disagree with Stanley, but damn if it won’t be nice to be in a conference where the commissioner advocates for the whole conference instead in a conference with some dipshit like Yormark openly playing favorites even when it hurts the conference. The ultimate irony is Sankey was arguing that Alabama shouldn’t be punished for playing tough non-conference opponents when that opponent is us, the team that could get in over them.
  19. Even still, it will be nice to rub salt in the rest of the Big 12’s wounds.
  20. Maybe Daddy let him drive
  21. One thing’s for certain, it’s thyme for us to win the championship on our way out the door.
