  1. We are also a play away from losing to Tulsa, KSU, ou and Baylor. We could be 2-5, with pitchforks out, just as easily as we are 6-1.
  2. I’ll be there the same weekend. A night game does not bode well.
  3. The part of the story I don't like is that the old man gave up looking for his Magwai after an hour. He didn't put posters up or anything, he just sat on the porch like a goon and waited. That old man's gotta think 'You got a pet. You got a responsibility.' If your Magwai is lost you don't look for an hour then call it quits? You get your ass out there, and you find that fucking Magwai!

Didn't we go 10-2 in 1990 during the "Shock the Nation" tour? IIRC we only lost to CU before our bowl game.
  6. Exactly. The problem with "We're Texas" is how people define it. We used to beat the shit out of inferior competition because style points mattered in the BCS conversation. We used to really clobber the directional schools based on athletic talent alone. Somehow, people view a 12 point hard nose victory in a different light than winning by 4 TDs. Why? Because Bama does it now? Fuck Bama. We are at least 2 more years away from fielding a talented team like that, which is exactly why the CFP talk is silly. Could we streak and pull off some upsets? Sure we could. But we are still not a complete team. The only difference between this year and the last 2 is that we've learned how to close out games. Outside of the TCU games, we didn't lose by more than 10 points against any opponent. We still don't have a consistent kicker. Our defense gives us big plays every game. Our offense is led by a would-be Tailback slinging the ball around. We've simply beaten the teams on our schedule, which you have to admit, haven't been that elite. TCU is not the TCU we've come to know, USC may be the tallest midget in the Pac-12 and ou has serious questions on defense with a great offense. But, we're 6-1. It doesn't matter how we got there, but it's a hell of a lot better than being 2-4 like we had hoped for after the Maryland game.
  7. I’ll never understand why some of you seek validation from aggy so much. Hopefully, you are getting a check for all the space they occupy in your head. WGAS? Could not care less what their fanbase thinks. Clutch the pearls, they think we’re overrated! Well, we are. Still doesn’t change the fact that we’ve earned the right to be in the conversation. They only won this shitty conference once in an upset before they bolted to greener pastures where they still can’t win shit. They have no relevance in the long standing history of college football and it’s a waste of time to even acknowledge them.

Depends on the goal. If we want a shot at the playoffs, beating a 1-loss ou at the end of the year helps that out. They’ve become a media darling. But, we’re not sniffing the playoffs this year. We’d get embarrassed.

We’ve had a handful of winning seasons the last 5 years, and winning the conference is your expectation? If we win 9+ games I’d be over the moon. A CCG is gravy at this stage.
  10. Is that a bad thing? For Texas to have a shot at the playoffs, they need another win over a highly ranked team like ou at the end of the year. It’s hard to overcome the MD loss and all our good wins get tainted as the seasons goes on. If Texas beats ou to take their spot, I’m perfectly fine with that. I wouldn’t cry foul if they beat us and were left out either. I don’t think either team has a legit shot at the playoffs, and both would get killed, but the CCG works in our favor this year. If we were undefeated, then I’d agree.
  11. Hopefully Coach doesn’t let the look past the bye and expect to be on autopilot. Nothing is guaranteed

Yeah, but we’re not winning by 50+ anymore... Proud of this squad’s response. Don’t always love them, and we have mistakes a plenty, but they didn’t turtle up after getting beaten by the Turtles.
  13. That was still 10 years after the last time aggy won a title.
  14. Pretty bold take considering Bama hasn't played anyone yet. Their best win is over aggy. Not exactly pulling out a win at The Shoe (at night!).
  15. No, it doesn't. If there is a Power 5 conference, and only 4 teams get into the playoff, you aren't getting the best of the best. The counter argument is that all P5 conferences are not made equal. The ACC and Pac-12 aren't on par with the SEC, for example. So if the intent is to determine the best college football team, we have to make room for the possibility that the 2 best teams in the country may be in the same conference or even the same division. I'd argue that Texas and ou were the best teams in 2008 despite the fact that Florida won the MNC. Florida just had a better game than ou. Same thing with 2009. Had Colt not gotten injured on the 6th play, we could have assessed who the better team was that year as we lost all of our offense and experience on that injury. The Top 4 teams will be voted on by Coaches an the AP writers, both of which have inherent biases. The loss factor is also suspect. Is it better to lose to unranked Maryland by 5 points your first game or Top 25 ranked LSU by 17 in Week 10? You could argue that a loss early in the season is not indicative of how good a team is at the end on the season even if said loss wasn't against a higher ranked opponent. The problem is that we have to have some illusion that these are STUDENT athletes. There are only so many games they can reasonably play to maintain the academic aspect of the equation.
  16. This. If we win 10 games and get a good bowl, I'm happy. We don't have the team to win it all this year anyway. Next year, we'll be a little more seasoned to make a run. At the very least, we should be one of the 2 teams in the Big 12 CCG based on the remaining opponents.
  17. I think I'm done with the show. It moves way too slow and I just don't give a fuck about the characters. (Or their deaths) The hostilities between the Reich and Pacific States need to come to a head in a way I care about.
  18. Didn’t even bother reading. Post a summary of your hot take.
  19. Glad you liked Pitterkeller. The owner is a really nice guy. The schnitzel and so buttery and light that it melts in your mouth and the lingonberries are a nice compliment. The potatoes are no slouch either. Good trip. Prost!
  20. How does this affect the T-shirt design though?
  21. So, if he gets sacked, did we grab them by the pussy?
