  1. No they didn't, not really. Aggies claim that and the media runs with it but Kyle Field is no more of an advantage than a hopping Autzen, Ohio Stadium, or others. But you're correct that the crowd will have basically nothing to do with the outcome.
  2. Should be the week after Florida/Georgia to even things up.
  3. People in this thread love to use "who would be favored" against the Big 12 when talking about top SEC teams. Why are none of you discussing the fact that Iowa State and Arizona State would both be favored over Boise State? Yormark is correct that the MWC winner should not be seeded higher than the B12 winner even if his reasoning is inaccurate. Boise State is overranked.
  4. Now it certainly doesn't mean one guy can't be good, but Purdue this year was historically terrible as we all know. I have them as the 8th worst power conference team this century ahead of only a couple of Duke squads, a couple of Kansas squads, an Indiana team, and the infamous 2008 Apple Cup participants.
  5. Exactly, I don't hear many New York Giants fans worried about how they lost to Dallas twice and also New England in the regular season and didn't even win their division in 2007.
  6. By definition the runner would have to fumble the ball before it breaks the plane of the goal line extended (or else it would be a touchdown). If the runner is no longer in possession of the ball then the goal line extended no longer exists. So the ball is simply fumbled out of bounds without having entered the end zone.
  7. Joel Klatt really wishes this were true.
  8. Correct, this eliminates the possibility of fumbling for a touchback.
  9. I'm hoping for UNLV to win also because I think Boise is way overranked. And then the B12 game Saturday is for both a berth and a bye so that one will be even more fun.
  10. Trust the coaches, got it. There is no need for you to contribute any further, we understand your position on every issue moving forward.
  11. Are you asking if Oregon (or whoever is the #1 seed) would get to choose who plays where in the semifinals even if they lose in their quarterfinal? I'm going to guess that no, they would not. So it's pretty clearly the highest remaining seed.
  12. 1. SEC, 528-288, 0.647 2. Big Ten, 432-450, 0.490 3. Big 12, 374-442, 0.459 4. ACC, 348-502, 0.409
  13. Boise State has won their games but the Mountain West is worse than the Sun Belt. For discussion's sake here are my conference rankings this season. Reminder since I haven't run them in a couple of seasons, my conference ratings use my ratings and are just a ranking of expected winning percentage for each conference if FBS football played a complete round robin. 1. SEC, 1468-420, 0.778 2. Big Ten, 1391-697, 0.666 3. Big 12, 1227-661, 0.650 4. ACC, 1243-746, 0.625 5. Independent, 194-199, 0.494 6. Pac-12, 106-158, 0.400 7. Sun Belt, 637-1043, 0.379 8. MWC, 513-951, 0.350 9. American, 571-1109, 0.340 10. MAC, 396-1068, 0.270 11. C-USA, 274-966, 0.221
  14. Boise State will get hammered by 20+ by the #5 team. Unless it's Notre Dame. Then only 14.
  15. I don't think there's any way 2-loss Penn State stays ahead of 2-loss Ohio State
  16. I think they would drop Georgia behind Tennessee in that case. To my knowledge the committee hasn't said CCG game losers can't be "punished," that has been other people.
  17. I see that Lanning is now getting the surly one great season overhype. Maybe it's just a green and yellow thing, turns out previous winners Matt Rhule and Dave Aranda aren't actually coaching savants.
  18. Out of all the QBs in Texas, he's one of them.
  19. He is among the top QBs in Texas. The top 100 QBs.
  20. "He also has combine style measurements..." I, too, have a height, weight, wingspan, and 40 yard dash time.
  21. There's an easy and obvious reason. The entire point is to reward conference champions. And since the major conferences haven't split off, that's what happens. I hope they never split off but think they will in time. And I have no issue with ensuring that conference titles continue to mean something, and using the format to reinforce that is fine with me. Texas fans were trained by Mack Brown to think conference championships don't matter a lot. But they do. And they should.
  22. Correct, it's really just Ohio and Louisiana. The Lafayette campus is of course trying to rebrand as The University of Louisiana but that's very recent. Ohio is really the only long term example. Temple and Pitt (I'll still call them that if I want) are the other two main public schools in Pennsylvania so there's not really a U of State versus State U dynamic there.
  23. Man that was a Davis Warren level INT throw there by Winston.
  24. What do you mean? She can't even afford enough fabric to conceal her daughter's underwear for a Christmas photo.
