  1. Sydney didn't grate on me like she did others, but she wasn't my favorite character. I've never seen her in anything else so have no comparison. I recall that she was more tolerable in Season 2. I did love her and Richie going at each other in Review, culminating in her stabbing Richie in the ass.
  2. Not sure if this is the best thread, but it's related to health and longevity. Has anyone tried Restore from a company called Cheers? https://cheershealth.com/products/restore Yes, I know that the best way to combat alcohol's effects on your body is to not drink at all. But, for those times when you might consume more than a couple drinks in one setting (e.g., football games, dinner parties, drinking alone in your garage), the science behind this product is interesting. Many of you may already know this, but when the body is trying to metabolize alcohol, it converts alcohol to acetaldehyde, which is way more toxic than alcohol. This, along with dehydration, is why we can feel like shit the next morning after significant alcohol consumption. And, acetaldehyde is a carcinogen, which is why alcohol has been linked to a higher rate of cancer. This product includes cysteine, which converts acetaldehyde into a non-toxic compound and supposedly neutralizes its negative effects on the body, allowing you to metabolize alcohol more efficiently, and reducing the hangover effects. A couple of my friends recently purchased these capsules and claim they work. Anyone here ever tried this?
  3. Nice. Little Si has a little larger elevation gain, but it's more gradual than I remember Rattlesnake Ledge. It still got my heart rate up on a couple stretches.
  4. I'll be in Park City next week with three teenagers. I'll plan a day at the Olympic Park, have a reservation to raft the Weber River, and will have an adult dinner with the wife at Firewood. Any recommendations for a causal meal in town?
  5. What poor aggy intern had to make a last-minute convenience store run?
  6. I’ll say it: that’s a nice looking salet.
  7. He doesn’t know President Taco like we know President Taco.
  8. Oh for Christ sake.
  9. Yeah, Yacht Rock ended in 1983. At least that’s what I argued in my dissertation.
  10. Well, of course, their requests for subsidies was not Paraguayan in and of it is as it were the United States government would never have if the president, our president, had not and as far as I know that's the way it will always be. Is that clear?
  11. He’s setting them up for a new “we just ran out of time” kibble. “They didn’t stop us, we stopped us.”
  12. A wise man once said, “Be good to yourself when nobody else will.”
  13. Are you kidding? He’s had countries lined up to do deals with him.
  14. With the growing number of cunts holding positions of leadership in our country, my wife is letting me say “cunt” a lot more often.
  15. He’s getting shitfaced right about now.
  16. Yep. Much less yelling, and you get episodes like Forks that are slower, quieter, and develop a great character arc. But Fishes will make you clench from beginning to end.
  17. I have a dream of having sex with Scarlett Johansson, but if you pay me enough I'll fuck Rosie O'Donnell.
  18. I've preached this before, but everything I read about the importance of weight training as you get older emphasizes glutes. It's one of the largest muscle groups in your body, and their often neglected or underutilized because (a) people tend to focus on quads and hamstrings, and/or (b) people have sedentary jobs where they do a lot of sitting. Strong glutes help with mobility and balance, and better alignment and stabilization of hips and knees. I had always included the dreaded leg day into my weight cycle, but since reading more about the importance of glutes for longevity, I've incorporated stuff like lunges, split squats, and glute bridges to better focus on glutes. tl;dr version: Work dat ass.
  19. You did Seattle very well, sir. Probably my favorite meal. Wife got the sea bass and I got the rockfish. Would definitely go back. Fifth time in Seattle, and I've walked past this a dozen times before but never went because it seemed a bit chainy. But it was good enough for Anthony Bourdain, so why not? It turned out to be the perfect lunch on a long hike from Pike Place all the way to Upper Queen Anne. Had a fantastic Bloody Mary and the smoked oyster dip to start. My main was what might sound like a boring Louie salad, but I added dungeness crab and it was awesome. I don't drink as much beer as I did 10 years or so ago. But when I'm in Seattle, I consume a lot of the local stuff, which is so, so good. We left a lot on the table with only 3.5 days in town. The wife definitely wants to go back and take the ferry to Bainbridge, and we'll spend more time in Freemont, and try to make it to Ballard and Capitol Hill. And we'll probably stay somewhere north of Belltown. The location was excellent, and our apartment and block were fine, but venturing out south to walk to Pike Place or the coffee shops in the morning, there were a lot of homeless, more so than I've seen in any other trip. We felt safe for the most part and they are usually quiet and leave others alone. But we literally saw a couple shooting up in a parking lot right off a busy sidewalk.
