  1. Nice. Looks like a good portion of dill, no?
  2. I can see anchovies as a thing, because (as I may have mentioned several pages back) my Cajun friend in Breaux Bridge taught me to put soy sauce in gumbo to give it a nice but subtle unami kick. Anchovies might do the same thing if used judiciously. These days I'm also not so restrictive on my view of what you put in gumbo, as long as it has a solid roux base. When I first read on this thread the notion of putting potato salad on gumbo, I thought to myself, "what the ever-living fuck?" But once I tried it, I recognized its genius.
  3. Ask @Armybrat about playing grade school football with Jim Thorpe.

What does he know? He’s not even a real general.
  5. The rumor I'm hearing from the Ohio State camp is that Chip Kelly is fat.
  6. I have a few social engagements this month during which I would like to imbibe. So my wife and I are putting off Dry January to February (or starting in late January after our last social event). But I didn't go as hard as I had prior holiday seasons, and maintained my gym routine.
  7. We need to score some tuddies to get a natty, and Sark covered this in his presser.
  8. Unnecessarily harsh language. It would've been more appropriate to say "shut the hell up you retarded idiot."
  9. Quinn needs to play well above his norm the next two games to win a title. But to engage in the hypothetical and the QB debate, I assume your #2 ranking bumps him in front of Colt, and behind Vince. So between Colt and Quinn, it really depends on how much weight someone in this debate puts on a championship. Even if Quinn plays like Superman over the next two games, it's going to be hard for me to put him in front of Colt. Yes, Colt has no titles, and Quinn would have one. But Colt's overall body of work as a QB is much better than Quinn's. We won a lot of games because of Colt. We also won a few games in spite of Quinn.
  10. Haven't seen a ton of his films (never saw any of the Before Sunrise trilogy). But in addition to Dazed and Confused, I loved Bernie and Boyhood.
  11. I guess the "Texas beat Michigan who beat Ohio State" point isn't doing anything for them.
  12. Jamaal Charles laid the wood in that game as well.
  13. Followed by Drew Kelson's strip sack. That was a great 2005 Ohio State team.
  14. Wasn't a Central Texas high schooler in the 1970s, yet still loved Dazed and Confused. Wasn't a Central Texas college kid in the early 1980s, but still haven't gotten around to watching this.
  15. It's a story as old as Moses. Nice restaurant concept starts, expands, gets acquired by national restaurant portfolio, starts sucking.
  16. We need at least three plays where Quinn fakes in the backfield to two different players, pirouttes, and then hits a guy in the flats.
  17. Legit cool story, bro.
  18. He seems worse than Paul Batrice.
  19. Was 27 degrees and windy when I took my pup for a walk. He normally goes about three blocks before deciding to crap, but squeezed one out in a hurry, given that this morning is by far the coldest it's been since we adopted him.
