  1. Thinking about buying Dick's Picks Vol. 8 on Vinyl. 5/2/1970. It's basically one all-acoustic set where they play a ton of American Beauty, Workingman's Dead, and traditional arrangements, then an electric jammy set, then a short set that's more of a lengthy encore. The limited run sold at $139 when released and has long since sold out. I found a guy who has a sealed copy and is asking $165 for it with free shipping. I'd be dumb not to buy this, right? Set 1 Don't Ease Me In, I Know You Rider, Friend Of The Devil, Dire Wolf, Beat It On Down The Line-> Black Peter, Candyman-> Cumberland Blues, Deep Elem Blues, Cold Jordan*, Uncle John's Band Set 2 Saint Stephen-> Cryptical Envelopement-> Drums-> The Other One-> Cryptical Envelopement-> Cosmic Charlie, Casey Jones, Good Lovin'-> Drums-> Good Lovin', Cold Rain & Snow, It's A Man's World, Dancin' In The Streets Set 3 Morning Dew, Viola Lee Blues-> Feedback-> We Bid You Good Night
  2. No, I'm going to sell these things. You can have first picks.
  3. Yeah, I was kinda tounge in cheek but it's the right thing to do. But I'm still keeping my signed CDs. Some of this shit he may not want also, if that's the case, we just knock it off the $100 pro rata or do something fair. When I started going through them I couldn't help but feel like all of this precious music will be lost forever and I keep going back to the the whole sunk cost fallacy (uh, you paid thousands of dollars for these and accumulated them over decades and now you're selling them all for $100? The cost of about 3-4 nice vinyl LPs? This is crazy, hold on to this "investment"), but my logic brain reminds me, dude 1) all the music in the universe is in "the magic internet cloud" for costs ranging from 100% free to $10/month, 2) the CDs have been sitting in some cabinets for years doing nothing, and 3) vinyl is superior to most digital file formats (IMO) and 100% superior to all CDs anyways. Not gonna renege. Tell me when you want to come get this shit or where to ship it. Thank you for being my conscience WTB.
  4. Ok, I'm going to start sorting through this to pull stuff like my autographed Mastodon CD and also empty jewel cases where I lost the CDs. Then, I'll make an inventory. Pricing will be $0.10 to $1.00 per CD. Double albums or anything that comes in one sleeve will count is one CD. This is going to be so boring and unprofitable.
  5. Just thought of another one - Grateful Dead, from the Pigpen era. Easy Wind, Turn on Your Lovelight, New Speedway Boogie, New New Minglewood Blues, One More Saturday Night....man there's a million of covers and traditional arrangements that are all blues based.
  6. Black Crowes (take your pick, but I'd go with My Morning Song, Twice as Hard, or Thorn in my Pride) The Animals w/ Eric Burdon - again, take your pic. I'd go with It's My Life or the Story of Bo Diddley. Great singing mixed with spoken word ballad. Really deep track, but it fuckin rocks.
  7. I've got well over 500. But I actually do use them for two things 1) doing my community radio show (using cds with multiple players makes for cleaner transitions between songs), 2) loan them to friends whose cars have cd players and they don't feel like fucking with bluetooth/usb/whatnot. That said, I'll sell you all my cds (except my autographed ones) for $100. Tons of good shit, boxed sets, rarities, etc.
  8. SIAP: Obama endorsed some Texas dems today. Still nothing for Beto. The best explanation I read was "Obama’s endorsement might not be helpful to Democrats competing in southern states, where the former president isn’t popular. Bredesen said last month he wouldn’t welcome Obama or other party leaders campaigning for him in Tennessee." But I'm still hoping Obama gives a surprise, splashy endorsement like a week before the election.
  9. The Witch was better but this was good. The plot was not terribly complicated, but I think I'd get more out of another viewing. There is definitely some misdirection in that trailer, which I liked.
  10. Couple of chicks who just blow me away, and I can probably name any of them in 2 notes or less.
  11. 5 star masterpiece. I'll accept it.
  12. Holy Shit THIS. And Amorica is almost as good.
  13. Ok, as the former owner of a pedal steel, I gotta give anyone mad props who can pick it up like that. Jerry Garcia and Ronnie are the only two rockers/non-savants I know who really shined at the instrument.
  14. My vinyl. Thinking of getting the GD movie next. Or maybe Egypt. So good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Now I have to perv out to Bob's daughter for like the next 30 minutes. Fucking keep this thread on track.
  16. Without a doubt the most legitimate and literal "gangster" in rap history.
  17. Every song they listen to on the radio or is involved in a montage in Tommy Boy.
  18. Grandioso

    Led Zeppelin

That 77 shit needs to be on vinyl.
  19. Oh, and I meant to post this Kauer in "faded denim." And I'll be damned if it doesn't look exactly like blue jeans.
  20. Little G&L pron for Friday. Peep these beauties. This is some black on black crime right here, bro. For when I start my T. Rex / glam rock cover band.
  21. Ok, Sweetwater is basically selling everything now for either 36 or 48 months 0% interest. Now, if you don't pay it off by then, you're fucked, but still. $70/mo for 36 mos. $43/mo for 48 months $100/mo for 48 months
