  1. Edmonton better put up a fight. If Vegas clears them in 5 while Stars/Jets slug it out they will have a real advantage against winner.
  2. Only one game off in between all series once we get started. No rest days. I would prefer home ice, but if we don't have that, having an extra day on the Jets while they played 2OT running 5 D the entire game hopefully helps a bit. Both teams with interesting injury situations to start the series. I'm sure there will be lots of transparency for availability game 1 from both coaches today LOL. I still haven't seen reports of Robo skating 'hard' so I'm going to assume he is out first 4 games at least. I'll be really interested to hear if Miro is back to full contact at practice today.
  3. That has to be up there with best Stars game I've attended. Certainly best 12 mins or so of hockey I've seen in that building. When they scored to start the 3rd the air completely came out of the building and it felt like a funderal until Miko got us on the board. From there on out it was just sheer insanity. Haven't ever felt that kind of momentum take over the arena. It was epic. I snapped a pic of my apple watch right before the face off for empty netter and my heart rate was at 118 LOL. Moving forward, neither Jets nor Blues will be an easy matchup by any stretch. Jets completely shut us down and you never know if Helley can suddenly figure it out and dominate a series. He's such a wildcard. Blues on the other team have been on a heater for 2 months now. Surely that has to taper off right? Also I think rooting for Blues not only just for home ice but I might try to bounce up there for a game if it works out. Have never been up there. Regardless, here is to a 3OT thriller tonight.
  4. The West is stacked although it does feel like these may be the best 2 teams based on playoffs to date. This series is well deserving of a game 7. Just hope we are on the right side of it. Going to be nerve wracking in the barn tonight but as sports fans this is truly the good stuff. Looked it up and this will be only the 4th Stars game 7 ever at the AAC. I was at the first 3 as well. Here's to hoping this one ends up like the last 2.
  5. Avs fans are truly a weird mix of Aggy homerism combined with pure trash of Ohio State or Tech fans. Truly only fanbase I can't stand to be around and act like clowns even at the AAC. My seat partner went to game 6 in Denver last year and said fans were awful. Vegas fans are loudmouths and front running douchebags so suck in their own way but not like Avs fans. MN fans seems like they suck but those that travel to Dallas I've never had issues with. Edmonton fans were great. Seattle fans were great (just happy to be there). Blues/Calgary fans were completely fine from what I recall of those series. But fuck the Avs man. It was great not having many around us for game 5. They were annoying as fuck in and around our section for games 1 and 2. Hoping we get lucky again and not many near us for game 7.
  6. This is where I'm at and came to this thread to see what I'm missing. I don't 'trade' but paused my auto fund investments this week. I'm struggling to understand a base case for the economy/market improving over the next 6 months. Even in the scenario where a deal is cut with China and/or other countries in the near term, there should be at least some irreversible short term damage to jobs, supply chain, etc. that won't be reflected in any data yet (but should be priced in?). Assuming "some" tariffs remain in place you will still have inflationary pressures. I still think uncertainty is limiting capital deployment on a macro basis. What are we missing?
  7. Never said it was, my dude. Just laughing at the flopping you guys do. It's legendary. Want to revisit, once again, "Makar doesn't dive" LOL
  8. Robo won't be back. Who knows with Miro. If he can go I think you take the risk. He will be rusty and that is dangerous coming in cold to a game 7, but a rusty Miro is probably better than what we have. But for whatever reason we've been able to control Colorado much better at home vs on the road. Hopefully we can do that one more time and give us a chance as, while Blackwood still made some nice saves down the stretch, he's looked more like what we expected the last 2 games.
  9. Lyabushkin has had a decent series until last night. Recall he wasn't at practice yesterday for "maintenance". Wonder if he's dealing with something or sick. And yes, puck luck went Avs way in game 1, our way in game 5 and HEAVILY in Avs favor in game 6. We need that to swing back our way.
  10. Game 7 it is. What an absolutely stupid way to lose. And fuck that piece of shit ref to have the nerve to call THAT god damn interference call with the constant pick plays they run.
  11. Insane period of hockey. I expect more of the same. Big kill to start the 3rd. Let's bring this bitch home! Have to be in Blackwood's head a bit. Keep peppering him and he will keep leaking.
  12. Took their best punch. Knew they would come out like that. Let's see if they shot their load and we can counter in the 2nd. Get this to a 1 goal game in the 3rd and I like our chances.
  13. I haven't gotten to see too much of the Jets/Blues series, but other than the soft Helleybuck goal, the Jets dominance in the 2nd period last night was what I was expecting to see from them. That was the team I watched completely shut down the Stars 3 weeks ago to effectively clinch the division. Blues looked like a different team at home though and now Jets have Scheifele injury concerns.
  14. Miro officially out tonight. Not surprising. Haven't seen anyone in local media give a real glimmer of hope he's playing this series. Most seem to think if he was going to be able to play this series he would have given it a go in game 5. Robertson listed as "day-to-day" which doesn't mean much as I don't think he's practicing with team yet but still a positive update to the extent we win this series. Leaves in the possibility for a Robo return towards end of next series.
  15. This. JFC that was an awful take.
  16. I think he was in disbelief he dropped that far and had been living through an emotional nightmare for several hours on day 3 only for it to finally resolve. I think partially crushed, partially relieved, just a ton of anxiety relief/lots of emotions hitting at once. Pretty understandable IMO.
  17. Put me in the camp that was surprised QE dropped as far as he did. I don't think likely he's ever a starter in the NFL but thought someone would take a flyer in the 4th or 5th. I think he can be a really good backup QB. You don't need your backup QB to necessarily go out and win games. You need a backup that can manage a game, keep you afloat and not flat out single handedly lose games if the starter is out for 2-4. Quinn can absolutely do that and durability shouldn't be as much of a concern when not expected to start 17 per year.
  18. Looked like great games last night but I couldn't stay up for the 2nd OT of Carolina/NJ or either of the West Coast games after the late night at the AAC Monday. Had to catch up on sleep!
  19. PSA: Duchene interview on the Ticket yesterday (can listen on sportsday app top 10) was really solid. Typically you can't glean much from athlete interviews but Duchene appears to be a pretty introspective and straight shooter in interviews. Solid listen.
  20. Not familiar with this. What was the time delay between the sucker punch and the stabbing? Negligent homicide seems like an odd outcome for a stabbing (not sure of Texas specific statute nuances). Compromise verdict or did it seem to fit the facts?
  21. I've said for years now I think the networks screw this up trying to maximize complete game windows. I'm sure someone is making decisions off data but I'm convinced they are wrong. They should treat this like the NCAA tournament first round with staggered starts. Even in a 2 game window like last night, they should have scheduled puck drop for a little before 8PM CT targeting 2nd intermission of the early game. They should go to studio for a 2 minute recap then go to "puck drop" of our game on ESPN during 2nd intermission, have our game air on ESPN 2 until early game concludes, then it should work out where, absent OT, the early game would finish right as our 2nd period is about to start. So in addition to getting more casual viewership in central cities (only real 'fans' are going to stay up until 11:30 on a Monday), you might get more east coast hockey fans committed to actually finishing the late game. For example, I have a NYC client that is a big hockey fan that watched our first period but called it a night after that considering 2nd period would start around 11ET. Also, for us locally, the late starts really hurt building fandom for the kids as they can't stay up for this. If we win, when I get home, I leave a rally towel and a glow bracelets (they hand out at playoff games) set to green outside my son's door as a signal that we won (and if not there he knows we lost). He told me he asked Alexa what the score was before he fell asleep and it was 1-0 so I'm glad Wyatt scored fast enough he got to hear that before dozing off LOL.
  22. Edmonton is Mountain I believe. I feel pretty confident the latest start will be Oil/Kings.
  23. Toronto/Ottawa is if necessary. That series could end tonight. If so, either Dallas @ Colorado or Vegas @ Minn should get the early start. I feel like more likely they will give that to Minn considering (a) they got f'd with a 10:15 local start game 2 so network probably owes them and (b) Colorado is Mountain time and that would be a pretty early Mountain start. But if it's just 3 games, not sure how they will stagger the start times.
  24. Exactly. He went to the box, camera switched to a close up of his face on the jumbotron and crowd reacted, Bischel noticed and he started playing to the camera holding his hand to the ear and motioning. Bench started cracking up as well. Then they sent them down the tunnel and crowd roared as they skated across the ice. Really fun moment to close out the game.
  25. Never said it was, my dude. Just laughing at the flopping you guys do. It's legendary. Breaking news. Both teams try to draw penalties in an evenly matched series where the margins are razor thin.
