  1. One of the dumbest tats I've ever seen. What a fucking tool. Now I really can't listen to that show.
  2. Love the trade. I missed all of the last 2 games as I was out in Vegas for work but made the mistake of betting on the Stars Tues night. Clearly this team is desperate for the help!
  3. I'm currently in Vegas. And considering just that.
  4. Last night was a great bounce back game for Otter (and everyone really). Nice to see Stank get some time in the show.
  5. I turned it off after the 2nd but trying hard to think of another game I've watched this season we've looked that shitty. Pathetic effort all the way around.
  6. This is exactly why they are pausing planned procedures. They are being advised there is potential liability for ordinary course IVF decision making given this ruling. This isn't just an issue of a patient potentially no longer having the ability to "discard" currently frozen embryos. It raises liability concerns about discarding embryos when there is a 0% chance of a viable birth. Of course, the clinics/hospitals may also be facing liability for pumping their patients full of hormones and charging thousands only to now be forced to tell them "Sorry, your cycle is cancelled". There will absolutely be lawsuits flowing that direction as well. It's a mess. For those that haven't been through this, it's not like an elective surgery that can just be postponed. You have an extremely short window for a retrieval. It's unbelievable what these patients are facing and I have no doubt their doctors are also distraught and disgusted.
  7. IVF parent of 2 here as well. Extremely long journey for us. Keeping it on the topic of this ruling, anyone that has been through this (and is a lawyer or can put a lawyer hat on) knew immediately pausing of IVF treatments/facilities was an inevitable outcome. I haven't had a chance to read up on this in detail yet, but many embryos are not viable and end up discarded for numerous reasons. Some freeze and do genetic testing to test viability and/or otherwise ensure likelihood of a positive outcome (considering the extreme emotional, physical and financial toll involved with a cycle). The ruling is insane. Told my wife this AM the reality is that if it were 10 years ago, we would very likely be considering moving out of Texas to a blue state (trying to keep it non CR but no way around that comment) as you know this shit is probably coming here. Insanity.
  8. That would be great but someone has to explain to me the economics of "free to the fans" and how that allows ownership to max out the salary cap. I guess direct ad revenue?
  9. I read something last week to the effect that the age thing is really hitting home with those that have witnessed the rapid cognitive decline from their parents (in their 80's) up close. And with that context, and as noted in a subsequent post, how is Biden (really either of them) going to hold up having to deal with constant campaign travel/public events this fall? That shit would be exhausting for someone half their age and neither will be able to hide it. It may be whichever has the fewest major gaffes and generally looks less likely to die in the next 4 years has an advantage for anyone remotely on the fence. Neither is going to have a VP that moves the needle so no advantage there (I still think Biden should have somehow tried to pivot over a year ago to be in a position to announce a more popular VP although fully acknowledge easier said than done). It's a mess. At this point I think the D think tank needs to be working overtime on how to improve Kamala's approval rating. I know she did an appearance on The View or one of those shows recently. More of that.
  10. Just looked and they gave him a 2 year extension after last season through 2028 at a top 10 CBB salary (after, checks notes, finally making the tourney and getting upset in the first round). Unless he has a reduced buyout, I would think they are stuck with him another couple of years considering Jimbo payments.
  11. Hell of a game by their goalie.
  12. JFC. Seguin having a rough couple of games.
  13. Well shit. Would have taken a point in a heartbeat before puck drop with that lineup. Disappointing to not get 2 considering how well they played missing so many guys. Oh well. On to the next!
  14. Just curious - what is a scenario where life insurance as an "investment" actually makes sense? I had always heard pretty much a ripoff in all but very specific circumstances but never understood what those circumstances would be.
  15. Heiskanen out as well (having a kid). Fighting uphill to earn any points today.
  16. I mean I don't have a hard handle on the economics. I get the Bally's situation fucked them and I they clearly have a lot of $$ tied up in deGrom and Scherzer that aren't available. The $$ may just flat out not work. Or maybe they are being cheap. I haven't seen an article do a real deep dive on the numbers. I guess the thought is stay competitive and hopefully get those guys back later this summer and/or find something at the trade deadline deals then have a shot come September/October. But looking at the roster now, they are another injury away from a mess.
  17. Absolutely seems like they are content to just be competitive while turning a profit with increased season ticket sales, etc. rather than trying to repeat (or giving them a realistic chance at it).
  18. Well climber is the exact scene I was thinking of. That is the episode I left off yesterday. Ridiculous. Show is still solid enough for what I need out of it (something to watch while doing cardio) but that's some lazy fucking writing. Or maybe just intentionally bad in that respect?
  19. I'm a few episodes in. It's ok and while I fully appreciate it's quite normal to suspend disbelief when watching a show but the opening scene and the apparent inability to outmaneuver a fucking 18 wheeler and then a subsequent non death scene I won't spoil really annoy me.
  20. Wisconsin? WTF. Hopefully not as bad as the international show last year we ditched after a few episodes.
  21. Car Dealership Guy is a good twitter follow on car market, interest rates, delinquencies etc. As you would expect, big picture is popular vehicles/brands still doing well. But some (specifically Stellantis) increased pricing way too much during inflationary period and nobody is buying their inventory at current pricing. Unfortunately what we are looking at are in the popular category so not much movement on pricing to date.
  22. Yeah, I'm personally enjoying the cash return right now and selfishly hoping rates staying high continues to put a strain on new car sales since I'm in the market over next few months (so I might be able to get pricing at actual MSRP or less instead of garbage dealer add-ons). But I'm very interested to see what happens to consumer delinquency curves. They keep ticking up but I feel like it's only a matter of time until we see a more meaningful jump. But I've been thinking that for almost a year now so who knows.
  23. That was fun last night. First time at the arena, for me at least, that it really felt like hockey season. It was significantly more lively than the October and November weeknight games I attended where the arena felt dead. I really think football needs to end + combo of tight race and checking scores/standings daily to get into hockey mode at least in my mind.
  24. I've never understood Hamas' actual strategy or goal with respect to the 10/7 attack but maybe you just articulated it. Get Israel to kill as many Palestinians as possible to extend multi-generational jihad. Which would also explain to date their approach to recent cease-fire negotiations.
  25. This time last year I never would have thought we would go through the first quarter of 2024 without cutting rates. Now we may make it through the 2nd quarter.
