  1. We flew into Des Moine yesterday and have been touring around Ames. Real nice folks so far and multiple invites to tailgates at the RV lot for tomorrow. Eating so far started with last night dinner at Olde Main Brewing Co watched the TCU/TTU game. It was Ok. The servers in the bar were a lot of fun. Like you suggested we had breakfast at The Grove (perfect breakfast dive) toured campus looking for women of low morals and daddy issues, and then had a great lunch at Cafe Beaudelaire. That's my kind of place. If we had time or come on the other side of the back, I'd go there again. I'm back at the Radisson resting up for tonight. I think the plan is to start dinner at a place called Hickory Park and then go find a sports bar to drink rum and watch some games. One of the tailgates we were invited to was at the Vet school on the other side of the stadium from the RV lot. Looking forward to tomorrow, meeting fun folks, and hopefully a good win (40-27) by my Mountaineers...
  2. Here is pic of her years ago playing in the snow.
  3. My Plott Hound was a rescue that I got when she was less than a year old. She had been beaten almost to death (maybe because she wasn't a good hunter, ...hopefully he's in hell) and for months after I got her, if you came up to her, she would lay down, cringe and just wait for the beatings. She died a week and a half ago at 13 years old. She was without a doubt the greatest dog that ever walked the earth. She roamed around my farm and in the woods, layed on the porch, and slept at the foot of my bed. She loved all people who came here after being very wary for several years of men. She had one accident in the house the first day she was here, I put her nose in it and said no, and she never had another her entire life. She listened when I told her do something, loved walks to the creek, and laying on her beanbag in the great room. When my wife left a couple of years ago, she didn't dare think of bringing up taking Halle. She had been slowing down and ill all summer and spent quite of bit time at our vets. She hadn't been able to go upstairs for about a month and she died curled up on that beanbag mat about 4 AM last Tuesday. I was glad I got to be with her here at home instead of having to put her down. Rescue pets are the best, and she was my buddy.
  4. If you see Beto there (he probably snuck under a fence to cause mischief), please don't ask him to be your designated driver.
  5. Pretty sure that Sam Ehlinger wrote one this afternoon.
  6. Much better to just ignore or pass by his posts.
  7. My boy is there and is not too positive about the outcome. I'm in Morgantown for our game against Kansas and am rather positive about the outcome here. Also, it's October and supposed to hit freaking 83 degrees here today. What the hell is this? It should be upper 60's.
  8. Barrett will be next nominated if a seat opens up while Trump is still in office.
  9. That's not the reason they wanted to knock you out, you loon.
  10. I may have missed it above, and I agree completely with the sentiment that if an adult is making $8/hr then the gov't is subsidizing in many ways, but, big picture as a society, what do we do with the soon to be unemployed Cletus Delbridge who just does not add $15/hr to the product. I tend to think that Amazon pickers do add the value and the company will now pay or automate more. Cletus is not capable of being trained for another better job (and his cousin Guppy is not willing/interested), so do prices rise (replacing his gov't subsidies) to cover his costs, or does he just sit on the porch full time on full welfare, or is the herd thinned out?
  11. My daughter over in Charlottesville has set a wedding date with her boyfriend of next Nov 2, 2019. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be a bye week.
  12. He's not going to deep dick them, he's going boof them.
  13. Since I have an Amazon Prime account and a few Echo's, I went ahead and just got a Fire TV device and then also signed up for Hulu Live so I could get live TV. Good package of sports/news/TCM that I watch. Probably the biggest thing I am missing (or not finding) on Hulu live is a guide. They have a live guide but it is just for what is on now and then what is coming up next. Am I missing something or is this the best it has right now and if you want to see what is one tonight or tomorrow or this weekend, you have to go online to each network and look at their guide that way? PS: Browsing around last night on hulu, I found all three seasons of a cartoon called Brickleberry. I remember seeing an episode or two a few years ago on Comedy Central. This has to be the most filthy show I have ever seen. Will probably binge later.
  14. Does Carrie Underwood get a pass? Because of her umm talent?
