  1. Only one I'm aware of is Vanguard on Burnet. Just this week I decided not to buy a car from them, so I guess I'm a suspect. Great.
  2. I was exiting Mopac southbound a bit sooner than I usually do because Far West is closed (of course it is). I managed to squeak through that impending clusterfuck about a minute before it clusterfucked and turned right on Spicewood Springs. I didn't see anyone being aprehended.
  3. Don't know, but I came up on it right as it happened. Getting through that intersection was a master class in stupid Austin drivers.
  4. Two dead, two injured at the 183/Ohlen Target in north Austin. Shooting at Target in north Austin
  5. I think they are typically the practice squad guy and they DON'T count against the 53.
  6. WTF does this even mean? You don't think two consecutive final 4 appearances along with elite recruiting/transfer results "earn" anything? It's fine to dislike preseason polls, but Texas has "earned" this ranking as much as any program has. I really hate our fans at times.
  7. I love them so much.
  8. Mike Elko's inertia sure as hell isn't wearing off.
  9. They're almost all essentially mint. He didn't use them, he just collected them. Definitely a bunch of Shrade, Case, Kabar.
  10. I haven't looked through them in years, but definitely "traditional". I doubt any are less than 30 years old. Mostly single blade folding knives, some multi-blade/tool (Swiss Army, etc.). Nothing specific to hunting, etc. He just liked to fiddle with knives (and cameras). I'm thinking about selecting my favorites and putting together a shadow box display of sorts. They mean a lot to me.
  11. I may have asked this before, can't recall: I inherited my dad's pocket knife collection, and I feel like I should insure it. We're talking well over 100 knives, some of which are very nice. Where would I go in Austin to have them appraised?
  12. Don't forget "low intelligence and incurious".
  13. I don't care about his finances. Fuck cancer, and I'm pretty sure Sergio is the type to truly fuck cancer.
  14. Don't know if it was clickbait but I know I saw a push on my phone this morning that said Wilson was currently #2, Ewers #3 (quote from the coach).
  15. It's fucking terrible. Like, the worst frozen pizza I've ever had.
  16. Honestly, Trinity felt a little weird to us. It seemed like a difficult campus to navigate. My daughter had an offer to either study percussion there or minor in music and major in something else, and while both options knocked out a huge chunk of the tuition it just didn't feel right.
  17. I remember as a young teenager some guy teaching our youth group at church asserting that Genesis was a Satanic band. I wrote him off for that, and it was the start of my growing suspicion about a lot of things we were being taught.
  18. I think "ABACAB" is one of the great pop-rock albums of that era. It sounds fucking fantastic, and I give Phil Collins most of that credit.
  19. Bobby Burton sure does love him some passive voice. If Ffrench doesn't room with Taaffe we missed a real opportunity.
  20. One of the coolest experiences I ever had was when I was living in Evanston with a buddy while we did a summer with Cavaliers. We were in an upstairs duplex, and downstairs lived a couple of gals, one of whom had just graduated from Indiana with a degree in violin performance. My buddy and I were chillin' one day watching Cubs baseball on TV, waiting to drive to rehearsal, and we heard all of this whooping and hollering downstairs. We weren't quite sure if it was good or bad, so we rushed down there to see what was going on. The gal who had just graduated from IU had landed a seat with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Holy shit. That's like getting drafted into the NFL, but more prestigious. I've never seen so much happiness and relief on a face in my life.
