I had one I traveled the world for work with for five years. I’m talking literally circling the globe and third world airports kicking the shit out of it. It crapped out and they are sending me a new one under their warranty.
I’m not sure y’all realize how little $7.1 million buys you in the oilfield. Especially for a country with an oil industry the size of russias. That’s nothing. Literally nothing. It could’ve been sold in January 2022 to a single customer easily.
I read a press release saying it’s supposed to be a r&d campus for the new energies business.

Early season anywhere is a crapshoot. I lived in Denver a while and my take is that Colorado doesn’t get as much coverage as some other western states. You’ll be seeing 40” bases on most places that aren’t wolf creek in December, if you’re lucky. I like to have 60-80 before I’m not worried about finding rocks and stumps while I’m running trees.
How are y’all not finding the news that Russian air defenses shot down the plane? I was on financial times and they reported that a couple of missiles were launched from Russian air defense towards the jet. I also saw the Twitter videos of it falling from the sky, it looked broken like it had been impacted by something.
Another layer is that france makes a large amount of their domestic power from nuclear energy. Niger is a former French colony and exports a lot of uranium to france. Kazakhstan and Russia are some of the other major suppliers of uranium. So in essence this is an extension of the energy war Putin is trying to play.
The new Land Cruiser is a Land Cruiser Prado, it’s a smaller version sold overseas. We had a shit pile of them for rolling around in the oilfield when I worked in Kazakhstan. Came with a five speed manual and a turbo diesel. Indestructible naturally.
I’ve used some higher end rods and some cheaper rods and the lesser rods feel super clunky and rigid when I borrow someone’s, like I’m casting with a log.
Hardy shadow 5 wt and a $200ish reel would keep you in business for a long time as you grow your skills.
I always liked these guys for gear reviews.

When I was rotating to Kazakhstanwe stopped flying over Ukraine after they shot down MH317. We started flying north to Moscow then west over to Amsterdam. Then once russia invaded in 22 we stopped flying over russia and went south along the Black Sea over Turkey then through Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, then north up the Caspian.
