  1. You cannot go wrong with any of the following: Justine's, Launderette, Musashino, Chicon, Uchiko, or Barley Swine. OP, I would say Dai Due is a cool restaurant, but may not be ideal for dates. The food is good (especially if you like wild game), but the tables are sometimes placed really close together. I have the same issue with Lenoir (which has outstanding food).
  2. I like tri-tip and think Santa Maria style grills are cool. I guess you could debate whether that qualifies as bbq, but I like it better than the pig bbq served in the south/east.
  3. I will preface this by saying I have no idea what I am talking about and have not had kids go through this yet . . . but I plan to encourage my boys to play multiple different sports. I don't want my kids wrapping their identify up in a single sport or putting too much pressure on themselves to be really good at a single sport. I also think that playing multiple sports can help build overall athleticism. I know James Washington played every sport available in high school and credits his football ability to that. http://newsok.com/article/5459585
  4. ^^ We may have a winner. Lubbock on Everything is hard to top. First two Guy Clark records are insanely good. Anything Willie put out in the first half of the 70s should be on the list as well. Flatlanders' "More a Legend Than A Band" should be mandatory listening as well.
  5. The work is already free to use/copy/distribute, but not to alter or incorporate into a larger work (i.e., making a derivative work). Sounds like they now want to make a derivative work using something you did. As a first step, you may want to ask them what they plan to do with the cartoons. Whether you own the copyrights depends on the specifics of the agreement you did with them ten years ago. But the fact they are contacting you now for permission suggests they probably think you own the rights.
  6. At least 4, apparently. Of course, if you really want to be in the target demographic, you also have to check some other boxes (thinks guns are "a great investment", watches MMA, susceptible to slippery slope arguments and various other logical fallacies, owns a truck worth almost as much as their home, etc.)
  7. I bet that fajita beef tasted like liquid smoke.
  8. I believe that the moon does not exist. I believe that vampires are the world's greatest golfers but their curse is they never get a chance to prove it. I believe that there are 31 letters in the white alphabet.
  9. This is good to know. Definitely going to try it next time I am in OKC. It is owned by the same folks as the Mule, which is another place I really like in OKC.
  10. Green Spot and Yellow spot are so very good. A bit pricey for their age, but really good. Knappogue Castle is decent and not too expensive.
  11. I don't understand the Y Mas obsession on Surly/Shaggy. I also think every food critic in this city overrates Olimaie. It seems like most on this thread are basing an "overrated" assessment on how crowded a place is, but you don't really know everyone's intent in eating there. I go to Stile Switch because it is close to my house and open for dinner (unlike many better BBQ spots). Maybe all the dudes eating at Ranch 616 know the food is meh but are just there for the eye candy. Maybe the olds waiting in line at Chez Zee will overpay for so so brunch because they like the piano player and the magician.
  12. I go to Cheever's when in OKC. Usually get the CFS.
