  1. This is what I figured, too. Saw it yesterday. One reviewer said "I say this as a compliment, not a criticism - I wanted it to end" and that's exactly it. The point - of both Warfare and Civil War, I think - is that war is hell. I agree with seeing it in a theater if you can. The sound was really intense and added a lot. A couple of questions for those of you who know more about the military than me. Early on they kept saying something that sounded like "cass evac" - I'm pretty sure I heard "evac" correctly, but was I hearing "cass"? Is that an acronym? Also, is a "show of force" when they fly a fighter jet close to the ground and it causes everything to boom and rattle? I assume the point is to disorient the enemy?
  2. This exact scenario happened to me, but it was 14 years ago so I was able to have the D and C. If someone had told me I had to wait another week, after confirming that the baby had died, I would have lost my absolute mind and then traveled to another state to take care of it. This is not only dangerous but terribly, terribly cruel.
  3. Wow, this is a great film. Just saw the IMAX version and it did not disappoint. The score is amazing, as is the acting all around. Highly recommend.
  4. How far ahead of time do you have to get to the Bullock IMAX to get a good seat? I haven't been to a movie with general seating in a decade or so.
  5. Watch the video someone linked to above - it does a great job explaining the differences between all the film sizes/aspect ratios.
  6. I've never been into medical dramas but I LOVED this show so much. Noah Wyle didn't do it for me back in his ER days, but I love me some grizzled Dr. Robby. The only beef I have with his character is that he was a total dick to Dr. McKay and the incel kid (David). Putting David a 72-hour hold will not "ruin the rest of his life", and it was absolutely justified given the note the mom found, even though he ended up not being the shooter at that particular mass casualty incident.
  7. That's so cool. Definitely going to an IMAX showing now.
  8. Super excited about this one. I see that they shot an IMAX version - I might try to catch that one.
  9. The scene with Carrie Coon's speech had me tearing up; as a 40-something woman myself I found it very touching and relatable. Their storyline was the best developed (of this season) and the resolution made the most sense to me. Belinda's going to have to learn how to launder money real quick. That spa she talked about opening with Pornchai could've helped. Did it not occur to Lochlan to clean out the blender before making something in it? I realize that no one in that family has probably ever cleaned anything themselves, but you still wouldn't want to leave gunk on the bottom before making a fresh smoothie, right? I loled at Piper's "the food was vegetarian but I could tell it wasn't organic" and Victoria's facial expressions during the entire speech.
  10. There has been discussion of an all-stars season. Not super serious discussion, but a nonzero chance.
  11. So, Rick has spent his whole life going after this guy who supposedly murdered his dad (and going off just his mom's word, at that), and he couldn't be bothered to watch a single Sritala movie before going to her house? Or just look up a list of them so he could name one? Or come up with a storyline for the fake movie he and Frank are trying to sell her on? Agree with whoever said Tim has done nothing the last few episodes - all he's done is mope around and fantasize about killing his family. There's so much great talent on this show but the writers have been kind of lazy this season, IMO. They've especially done Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs a disservice with their storylines.
  12. My guess is that he was talking about all of Gemma's innies - remember, he was into at least one of them.
  13. Britt Lower confirmed that it's Helly.
  14. There are going to be so, so many gifs of Milchik dancing with Choreography and Merriment and I cannot wait. I was pissed at Mark at the ending, but his and Helly's behavior tracks with the idea that this season has been the innies' "adolescence." He's not really thinking big picture. Otherwise, great episode and I'm glad Brienne of Tarth got a few hits on Drummond AND saved Emile the goat.
  15. The ring he made Gretchen out of a finger trap. Omg. My middle-school boyfriend would've gotten so, so lucky with that move.
  16. Been on a Bong Joon-Ho kick lately and this is now one of my favorites of his films. Funny, dark, and twisty. The actress who plays the mother is famous in Korean film for playing the archetypical mother, which is relevant for reasons you'll see.

Jack Quaid's face is a really perfect blend of both his parents. Meg Ryan from the nose up, with Dennis Quaid's smile. And speaking of nepo babies, it took me a sec to figure this one out, but once I got there I was mad it took me so long.
  18. You know what she's thinking.
  19. Right; I was just responding to the guy who said she was a caricature of Austin like the family was a caricature of Duke and UNC grads.
  20. It was really cute when she got him to cave and go on the boat because she brought out the fake tears.
  21. I'm glad they're finally pulling things back together. I had to double check that there are 10 episodes this season, because the last words Mark said tonight were "she's alive", which were the last words he spoke in the S1 finale. They gave us a big clue as to where they are physically located - they said Ms. Huang was being sent to a school in Svalbard, and she was traveling by shuttle. If she's not getting off the shuttle and onto a plane, then Kier is somewhere relatively close to the farthest northern city in Norway.
  22. Nah, that kid looks just like his dad. I've lived in Austin for 25 years, and if they hadn't said she was from Austin, I never would've gotten that. She's not even trying to have a bad accent. She could be a generic rich white lady from anywhere. Usually when people stereotype Austin, they go with the liberal hippie trope.
  23. Can we get back on track? How it started: How it's going:
  24. Ohhhh got it. Yeah, they were definitely hinting at that.
