  2. Ugh. Guess I'm not leaving my house anytime soon.
  3. Why did they shut down Mopac at Spicewood Springs for a shooting at 183 and Ohlen?
  4. I think so. We noticed this, too.
  5. Loved it. The humor/horror mix was perfect - I feel like it's what Cregger was trying to do with Barbarian, but couldn't quite get it (and I liked Barbarian a lot).
  6. Eleanor Rigatoni
  7. Emergency Baby is my new band name.
  8. It is a true testament to the craziness of this timeline that I, a news junkie, did not find out about POTUS standing on the roof of the White House until reading this thread a few minutes ago.
  9. I'm going Saturday night!
  10. Loss of 'five lives was preventable,' according to report on Titan submersible In other news, water is wet.
  11. "From Bill Cosby's private reserve" had me rolling, as did the wtf snowman scene 😂
  12. FWIW, his buddy Andy Samberg said he loved this movie. (He told Amy Poehler on her Good Hang podcast.)
  13. That was Danielle Deadwyler, who is amazing. She's great in Station Eleven, among other things. I was cracking up at her long pause after her daughter mouthed off, when she was about to go nuclear.
  14. Everything I know about Cleveland I learned from that episode of 30 Rock.
  15. He just wanted to be able to flee to the Cleve and club-hop down at the Flats and have lunch with Little Richard.
  16. Love Mitchells vs the Machines!
  17. Just got back from the theater. I wanted to like this so much, but I did not. Neither did my 17-yo son, fwiw. We both loved Hereditary and Midsommer, and while I wouldn't say the same for Beau is Afraid, it still had a distinct fantasy element that made it clear you were watching something not quite real. This movie, though, isn't sure what it wants to be. At the Alamo pre-show, they showed part of a podcast discussion between Ari Aster and Bill Hader, and Aster mentioned how he had been wanting to make a modern western for several years before Hereditary, but he got bored with it and knew it was missing something, so he put it aside. COVID and the political stuff seem almost ancillary to the story, like a McGuffin, and as we went through the movie I kept thinking that the conflict between the sheriff and mayor and protestors could've been over anything. It seems like Aster just wanted to make this modern western, and COVID gave him the hook that he could use to sell it. More spoiler-y stuff below. Very curious what you all think.
  18. Woof woof, not bang bang
  19. This is one of my favorite scenes in all TV. "How many Catholic officers are there in the RUC?" "Well, if we count the Jewish fella from Ballymena, three."
  20. This is exactly what I meant. Makes sense.
  21. Have they really not found any of the missing people in the last several days? The number of missing has been ~160 since Abbott's press conference last Wednesday. I know they had to pause searching a few times because of weather, but I'm surprised that we haven't heard of anyone else being found since then.
  22. I just figured he was fucking someone he wasn't supposed to be fucking and needed a cover story for why he wasn't at home.
  23. Idiots. Everyone knows alligators don't like how people taste.
  24. So no posts yet about Y'all are slipping.
