  1. Just finished Fleishman is in Trouble, a limited series streaming on Hulu. It was mostly funny, but as someone who had severe PPD, I had a very visceral reaction to episode 9 (Me Time) and, to a slightly lesser extent, the last episode. It has a great cast - Lizzy Caplan, Claire Danes, and Jesse Eisenberg, to name a few.
  2. You wish you'd show up in my erotic friend fiction. That is one of our differences.
  3. Tina is my spirit animal. I relate to her a little too much.
  4. She seems so high in that interview. Love her in Russian Doll and Poker Face is on my list. Her voice has gotten much more raspy in the last couple of decades.
  5. Ha, I didn't even think about that.
  6. Reminds me of that line from the X-Files when Clyde Bruckman tells Mulder "There are worse ways to go, but I can't think of a more undignified one than autoerotic asphyxiation." I don't know, getting shot by your dog is up there.

Love Wheel also has a 3-legged shop dog named Joe. So, cherry on top.

Nope, his guitar is with my brother. That's my guitar. I call her Lucinda.

When my grandpa died in 2018, I got his 1952-ish Sears-Roebuck radio/phonograph. It hadn't been functional in ages, but my mom and dad fixed up the exterior so we could at least display it. My husband and I had always wanted to get back into vinyl, so a few months ago we finally got around to making it functional as a record player - kind of. My brother had always wanted the internal turntable to display at his place, so we removed it, cleaned it up, and got rid of the ancient, decaying wiring. We put a new turntable in the shelf where the old one had been, and added some powered speakers. Nothing really expensive or fancy, but now we can play records out of the refurbished device. It's pretty cool. Thanks, Pawpaw.
  10. I got a VPN on my personal computer so I could watch it in June and not have to wait until when the fuck ever it aired in the US. I will miss this show so much.
  11. It's a wonder. And Liam Neeson shows up.
  12. He watches all the football. All. The. Football.
  13. Have you seen The Great on Hulu? He's wonderful in it.
  14. I didn't realize, until after I saw this movie, that Nicholas Hoult was the kid in About a Boy. He's done a lot of good work since then. I'm looking forward to Renfield, for sure.
  15. Yeah, we have a small house and when our 100-lb lab mix has a cone it's rough - we have to keep all breakable stuff off the coffee table, end tables, etc in the common areas because they're all at risk between his cone and his giant wagging tail. See my above comment re: the inflatable collar.
  16. It does not work on my 100-lb, long-bodied dog, but I don't know if he's outside the norm. He figured out pretty quickly that he just needed to puncture the tube and get it to deflate in order to get to his stitches. E-collar is the only thing that works for him.
  17. Eh, sure we have problems, but so does every big city and there's still no place in Texas I'd rather be. (And we need to be in TX to be close to family.) There's still charm, and things to love. The lady down the street from me has a mini-horse she dresses up for Halloween every year, and we always make sure to walk by her house to feed him carrots or apples. I went into this shop on North Lamar last week and was greeted by the owner's 3-legged dog. Dan's burgers still taste like they did when I moved here in 1999 and they're still my favorite burgers in town. I still laugh at the OG El Arroyo's signs. I still enjoy White Christmas at the Paramount in winter, and their summer movie series in the summer. Etc. (The caveat to the above is that I recognize that I'm fortunate enough to have been here and bought property before things got too out of hand, and that we can afford to live here. I know my tune might be different in different circumstances.)
  18. The actual survey link isn't working anymore, but someone on Twitter did a video screen cap of them taking it before it went down. If you want to see the whole thing.
  19. This business with Southwest is bullshit but since we’re discussing packing, I will share that I, a woman, went to India for a week-long business trip with only a purse and a carry-on. Could barely lift it over my head on the way back, with souvenirs and whatnot, but I did it.
  20. Current mood re: cedar
  21. Hand to God, I watch this every year and even after ~35 years, this line makes me legit laugh out loud.
  22. You know that metal plate in my head? I had to get it replaced cause every time Catherine revved up the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for half an hour.
