  1. Lou Holtz is a big boy. He stuck his mouth out there and got called out. He earned every bit of that rant, but Holtz has never been able to keep his mouth shut. Maybe someone should have told him to shut up, but he's a self-righteous twat. He's not a friend of the Texas program and can have a stroke, crawl off into the underbrush, and die for all I care. Ten years from now he'll just be that know-it-all guy with the funny lisp. Day stood up for his team and his program. I hope our coach would do the same.
  2. Holding on Baylor? Does that tie the total number of holding calls in conference play last year?
  3. SIAA but what’s up w Cam Rising? Is he good to go and Utah is holding him out for a bigger challenge or a more ideal matchup? Does he have a return date? Is he coming back at all? I want to get on the Utes bandwagon to knock off SC and Oregon, but that’s going to be a tough road to hoe w/o Rising. Asking for an asshole (me).
  4. Christ. 529 pages down the drain.
  5. They were done weeks ago. We were just in denial. This team wasn’t going anywhere even if they had made the playoffs. It’s almost over now and October is going to be boring this year.
  6. True. But we did that to ourselves by not shutting it down when we had the chance. That was my one and done in Lubbock.
  7. Drag worms as well. Never saw or heard of the Phi Delts paying two "Drag Rats" to fight one another.
  8. I'm looking forward to the day that I don't even think of them unless I happen to spot a school decal or a bumper sticker. Though I don't know why you'd be proud enough to put either on anything you owned. I voted for Baylor. I wanted to vote for Tech, but most of the misery I can associate with the Red Raiders seems to have been self-inflicted. I've despised Bible Aggie ever since the SWC gifted the 1992 game to a retiring Grant Teaff. F 'em.
  9. See you Saturday. Thanks.
  10. I've picked a song to enhance the reading experience for this thread. I crank it up to 98 decibels before taking the plunge. DMX Party Up
  11. I'm interested in one for my kid. Picked up the sport in Scouting and would like to start instructing at summer camp next year. Right handed, though. @Goofyboy I'll be in West Houston next weekend if it is still available. Thank.s
  12. I'd have paid good money for it had you just described it as a "casting couch."
  13. That go straight up on takeoff at an alarming rate if you're not ready for it.
  14. I recommend "Zero Dark Thirty." It takes a little bit of the sting out of the day. "For God and Country. Geronimo."
  15. This. Die-hard fans don't care. I love listening to people talking shit about the Astros (no CR). Winning cures all ills. *self-proclaimed and disputed
  16. NO! Wasn't done baking, yet
  17. It was close. I was 100% certain it was a block in the back until I watched it again. The receiver did get his right arm/shoulder just barely inside the front of the DB's left shoulder pad. It could have been called but it's not as egregious that it wasn't as I initially thought.
  18. Because you're speaking in tongues and handling the snake incorrectly?
  19. SIAP. Any speculation on the polls this week? I expect to -- at the very least -- jump Tennessee and move up 2 spots. Does Alabama drop to 11?
  20. Evan Stewart is the only thing in Evan Stewart's path to being extraordinary. Texas would be the perfect fit for him, just not vice versa. But, Herbstreit told me that was only because Miller hasn't learned he can't bounce outside and outrun lesser athletes. Nothing - zip - about Crawford taking the right angle and putting his ass on the ground. I don't think Miller took another snap, did he?
  21. I rode out Alicia on the west end of Galveston Island. By the time we got the boats out of the water, on trailers, and headed toward Houston, we were just finishing boarding up and the cops came down the street to tell everyone to hunker down because the roads were impassable. The worst part of the storm itself was a tornado pinballing off of houses as it went up the main canal and listening as it sheared off the northwest corner of our house. The worst part of the entire event was being without electricity for several days until we could get everything secured and get back across the causeway. The idea of being without electricity is the only reason I evacuated for Rita. But 12 hours to Dallas provided plenty of fodder to argue against evacuating the next time.
  22. I can't recall the last time I felt as stupid as I did after I realized what was going on. This was well after the SECOND time I got up and went outside to check my truck during the game.
  23. Love hearing all the noise for the Astros at "Minute Maid North." Oh wait, we won. Scratch that.
  24. It’s all ball bearings these days
