  1. You're right. They were just doing it for the hell of it and none of the information gathered was passed along or utilized in real time. That's a real leap to an inane depths of rationalization it would take to justify your assessment that no one was doing this at the Astros' level. The Dodgers' had approximately 20-employees in a video room set up for the expressed purpose of "stealing signs and deciphering “tells” from pitchers" but they didn't utilize it for the intended purpose. Of course you didn't hear it. Just like you don't hear anything about the Dodgers' video room, or that the Brewers were neck deep in this shit, or why MLB hid and is now fighting to keep the Yankees' transgressions under seal. MLB and Manfred have fought tooth and nail to make this an Astros issue because it has to stay an Astros issue or everything is at risk.
  2. What, like this level? Dodgers' Glass House
  3. And where is that microgram relative to losing two home games? Or, winning on the road to take back home field advantage? Where do those fall on the invisible scale that was apparently tipped in Houston's favor? I understand why Dodger fans' need to hyper-focus on something that no one is certain did play a role or can show played a role in their Series loss. It's easier than the non-issue standing like the elephant in the middle of the room. Their team lost 2-home games in the Series and despite beating those "cheating bitches" in Houston, lost the World Series. It's exactly why Cody Bellinger wants to bellyache about being cheated rather than talking about going 4 for 28 and striking out 17 times. 17 fucking times! Where does a crucial hit by Bellinger at a key moment fall on your microgram scale?
  4. Name a team that isn't. The Astros are just the only team in MLB to get a speeding ticket at the Indy 500. So far.
  5. For the record, Joe Kelly was on the Cardinals when they were hacking into the Astros' computers and on the Red Sox when they cheated with a much more sophisticated method than banging on a trash can. However, he's aggrieved and hellbent on justice. I wonder if he threw at Mookie Betts' head during batting practice.
  6. Fuck that. During the fucking off-season you're more fucking lucid than that fucking pussy.
  7. I was sent to a gun show to interview Ted Nugent in the early 90s. He clearly had a few screws loose, even back then. The entire interview was completely worthless because he didn't utter a single sentence without saying "fuck", "pussy" or "fucking pussy" at least twice.
  8. David Duke perhaps
  9. Sure. Because everything else has gotten it done so far.
  10. spectacular
  11. Good luck stealing a catcher's signs directly from the dugout. Most catchers are taught early on to drop their mitt below their knee/shin to avoid teams seeing any of their signs from the left or right.
  12. I'd like to see Trump debates in a format similar to "Pop Up Video" where he is fact checked in real-time. It would be for entertainment purposes only. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together know that if his lips are moving he's lying and his rabid defenders can't read.

  14. Politics doesn't bother me. Everyone is entitled to theirs and I'm entitled to hit the mute button when I don't want to hear it. I've never understood the Laura Ingraham "shut up and play argument" and telling people when and where they can express their views. Seems like a slippery-path to chilling free speech when we start telling people they should shut up because they are not in a forum of my preference. I always think of my maternal grandfather in Tomball when something like this comes up. In the early-70s he opened up the back of his television and attached a wire to it with an on/off switch on the end that he ran to his Lazy Boy on the other side of the den. It was the first mute button I can recall seeing and all because he wanted to pick and choose what he listened to on the nightly news.
  15. The 2011 Texas-ou game was on LHN the other day and I was reminded of what made Marquise so unique. He was a speedster with hands. Dude made a sideline catch on a ball he came back for, laid himself out, shifted his hand under the nose of the football, and dragged a toe. It was awesome. F the haters.
  16. I got out of sports-media just before I turned 30 for this precise reason. I was getting bored with it then and I've reached the point that I am only interested if the Longhorns or Astros are on. When the day came that I didn't want to deal with the hassle of Spring Training and dreaded going over to The Summit for Rockets' post-game, I knew I was done. I also knew I was leaving the best job I'd ever have, but I just couldn't stomach it any longer.
  17. I'm tempted to switch to trail runners, but I still have at least two trips to Philmont left in me and Philmont is not synonymous with ultra-light. Should I switch to trail runners if I am going be doing shake-outs and backpacking with 45+ pounds on my back?
  18. The response was disproportionate to the circumstances. The escalation was introducing the weapon and creating a situation that may necessitate her using it on a woman that was just standing there screaming at her. She didn't make it safer for anyone.
