  1. People that call me "brother" when I'm not their brother.
  2. Anyone who's ever been to Bracken Cave to see the bats can appreciate the coachwhip and the work they do on the ones that just don't fly very well. One of many cool things about Bracken. If you've never been you should.
  3. If you're looking for cancellation of kids' soccer games on Saturday you may be in luck.
  4. No. Hell, no.
  5. Travis is very thirsty. PSA, good site for those who aren't aware. Still crazy to see that 30-35 foot rise in May 2015 as a result of the Memorial Day flooding. https://www.golaketravis.com/waterlevel/index.php?year=2015
  6. To be fair, he seems to need it.
  7. Tough, but very good, read.
  8. In lieu of 3 hours just to say nothing. Progress being made. He's a beating.
  9. In 2023? Lulz.
  10. Blanks seemed like a beacon of light, the glass-half-full guy, the person others might gravitate toward if darkness was winning. If he succumbed to that darkness then it is an unbridled tragedy and one that is really hard to wrap your arms around.
  11. Thought Katy still lived in Austin.
  12. One must really need a job to take a 10P shift at a station with 250 listeners, plus or minus.
  13. I love hearing stories like this. I remember in Prescott's first year in Dallas, mid to late season, he was on the bench and threw his wadded up drink cup toward the garbage can on the sideline. It didn't go in. Instead of leaving it there or waiting for some staff guy to pick it up, Prescott took off his headset, went and picked the cup up and put it in the trash can. Simple thing, liked the guy ever since.
  14. That's heartfelt stuff from Kerr who knows quite a bit about personal tragedy.
  15. You think, especially given the idiocy in this city?
  16. Bunch of pansy leopards.
  17. The only thing worse than getting bitten by one, albeit extremely unlikely, is the Nextdoor diarrhea that comes with a sighting.
  18. Willie Nelson has been named an inductee for the 2023 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Nelson is among six other artists in the performer category, including Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners. This is the first time Nelson is on the performer ballot. https://www.statesman.com/story/entertainment/music/2023/05/03/willie-nelson-inductee-2023-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame/70179549007/ Fantastic. Thanks for posting.
  19. Not bad but doesn't quite touch the original.
  20. James is a diva but a fantastic basketball player. He does everything and does it so well. At 38. Curry is simply incredible. 6'1". 35 years old. And he still toys with everyone. The Barry Sanders of the NBA. A must watch, at every turn. Second only to Jordan. The ratings for this series will be big. Very big.
  21. 4:58 PM Almost pitch black in 35
  22. No bueno.
  23. Mayfest in Ft Worth. Early May 1995. 10.000 - 15,000 people outdoors on a Friday afternoon. Softball-sized chunks of ice fell from the sky at over 100 MPH. Upwards of 75 people hospitalized. I think there were no fatalities, somehow.
