  1. You mean mansplain? Tried it a few times on other things. Not receptive. She tunes me out and I get criticized. Same as it ever was - infrequent, lukewarm and scowling.
  2. I had a long, tiring day yesterday after doing a bunch of selfless shit. Several things my wife did throughout the day annoyed the fuck out of me, but I did my best to ignore it and forget about it. Later in the evening, after I did the whole routine of putting my two younger sons in bed I went to look at all of the thermostats because it was hot as fuck in the house. I was actually sweating. We have three thermostats in our house; one on each floor. One of the three was set to "Heat," two others were set to "COOL." One of the ones set to "COOL" was set to 82 degrees. The room temperature was 75. She is the one who reset them all. I was grumbling and cussing when I saw this and apparently she heard me because she texted me this morning: "I don't appreciate you grumbling and cussing about me. I am the one who put the thermostats on cool because it was hot as fuck in the house." Yes. Yes, it was hot as fuck in the house. And you still don't know how thermostats work.
  3. Well, fuck. The Jays wanted him worse than we did.
  4. This. Similar feelings about Quinn as I have about Simms. The best thing he did was commit to UT. Similar effects. Similar feelings of disappointment and that he should have been better. Frustrating moments of failure, but overall was really damned good.
  5. Somebody corral that fucking ostrich. One of the funniest things I've ever seen was the petting zoo at the HLSR one year. These poor kids had cones full of food and were getting attacked. They were trying to climb their mothers, but the mothers were being mobbed too. Kids were terrified and screaming. I laughed my ass off.
  6. I'm worried about the kicking game, especially in a game that could be close and decided by a kick, and I'm worried about Muhammad on Egbuka. Muhammad got picked on against Arizona St. Other that that, I like the matchups everywhere else. We haven't played a complete game all season, IMO. We suck in the 3rd quarter. Stupid, untimely penalties. We have the talent at every position to beat anyone. Our issues appear to be mental/coaching. I think the underdog role and no one giving us a chance helps with this. If we put it all together, we'll win.
  7. After 15 years of marriage we might have actually made some progress with this. The division of labor has always been, she packs the bags, totes, etc. and I pack the vehicle. I pack my own bag, of course, and maybe the kids' too. She packs her stuff and the food, supplies, etc. We're always rushing, so I would start to pack the vehicle before she was done packing the bags. Rookie move. You can't pack the vehicle until you have EVERYTHING packed. Inevitably I would tetris the fuck out of the car and she'd bring me two more large containers that she "forgot." I'd have to pull everything out and start over. Would piss me off bigtime. And, she refuses to use a fucking suitcase for her clothes and shoes. She uses open faced bags where everything can easily spill out and they have to be packed open side up. No matter how much I bitch and cajole she won't change. Nowadays, I tell her that I'm not going to start packing the car until she has everything packed. I've told her that it really better be everything because I'm going to be pissed if she brings out more shit after I'm almost done. Works much better. She still won't use a suitcase though.
  8. Doing the unexpected, unconventional thing sometime pays off through the element of surprise or if the D is set for something else (the expected). Sometimes it doesn't work.
  9. Good win. Shouldn't have been that close. We ain't gonna win the natty playing like that. A couple of different play calling decisions from being a blowout. Hopefully Sark learns. We're gonna roll ASU.
  10. Maybe a little cuter than that.
  11. They've extended lots of dudes to capture those years.
  12. It remains to be seen if Arenado and Walker fall off a cliff like Abreu did. Unlikely. That was a spectacular and unexpected fall. Doubling down would be saddling the club with long, super expensive contracts. That is not the way.
  13. Yes he is. If a player doesn't work out (Abreu), which happens to everyone, you don't double down on dumb shit. Nothing they can do about Abreu's deal. They can't afford Tucker so they got good value for him now. They can't afford Bregman either, so they have signed two players that actually makes the infield better. Santander and we're golden.
  14. Why only 15 minutes?
  15. The inner conflict between making a point and getting it wet is tough. Very tough.
  16. Question: Does anyone else's wife do this? Sex is going to happen, but she goes in the bathroom or the closet or both and fucks around and takes a long time to get to it? It feels like she is intentionally making me wait. Dragging it out because she knows she's got me on a string in that moment. Anyone?
  17. This is the best value RC car available on Earth: https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/1-10-granite-voltage-2wd-rtr-brushed-monster-truck-battery-and-charger-included/ARA102727.html
  18. Lighten up, Francis. This move doesn't mean they are tearing it down. It means they are trying to keep the window open and also have good players in the future. We need one more good bat and we'll be fine.
  19. Me. Win in 2025. If not happening, sell him at the deadline.
  20. I think we finished in the top 5 in MLB in ERA and that was after a terrible start to the season, pitching-wise. Offensively, Bregman's slow start contributed to the poor first half record. You don't have to, and can't expect, all stars 1-9 in the lineup. Meyers was ok. Singleton was ok. Chaz had a terrible year. Ideally we need one more quality bat at either LF or 1B.
