  1. Anything's possible. Hell, Desmond Harrison is a starting left tackle in the NFL. As a 24 year old rookie.
  2. Are we talking golden, losing-to-Maryland piss or more crystal clear, surprise-everyone-destroy-USC piss?
  3. If Texas is losing to USC at halftime, throw Heard in there. A run-first option offense with Heard at QB has got to be better than Watson 2.0 (The Beckening). Salvage the parts of the offense that Heard knows and fit his skill set. Soften up that defense with Heard and RBs, and eventually the defense will open up enough for Heard to complete a pass or two. Also Heard behind the 2018 line is a better situation than he had in 2015.
  4. Norvell taking the broken pieces of Watson's tinker toys and assembling something close to an offense. Honorable mention. Maybe Herman could take a page from 2015. Or from his own success at other stops with run-pass QBs. They need to tear up whatever dumbshit 4" binder full of sideways passing plays Beck put together during the off season. This shit offense is fooling nobody. The QB clapping sequence is a massive power down.
  5. Relevant topic given tomorrow's opponent...
  6. It's pretty ingenious if you think about it. What big time coach wants to hear that he's not earning his paycheck? Jimbo is an honorable devoted family man, cut from our cloth, so he wouldn't coast on the guarantee of his payday. But even if he were tempted to, the simple fact remains: from a pure pride standpoint, no top 5-all time coach like Jimbo Fisher wants to be perceived as not earning his paycheck. That alone, in and of itself, is pure motivation to take us back to the promised land of competing for national championships year in, year out. He has every reason to earn his paycheck and secure his legacy as a top 3 all time college football SEC head coach.
  7. Need to change it to a true home and away regular season like the EPL. Every FBS team plays every other FBS team Home and Away over the course of a 248 game season. 3 pts for a Win in regulation. 1 pt for Win in over-time. 0 pts for a Loss. Most points at the end of the season is the One True Champion.
  8. First it was DJ. Then it was Daje. Last year, CJ. Who will be this year's offensive disappearing act? The talented youngster who shows a load of skill, causes jaws to drop, cheers of excitement and wonder and then POOF! He disappears from the field, rarely to be seen again for the rest of the season. The causes of disappearance vary, depending on who's reporting it or repeating the tall tales of the mysterious disappearing wunderkind. Some say it's punishment for off-field wrongdoing, failing to remember plays and assignments. Others chalk it up to good old fashioned coaching malfeasance. But one thing is for near certain: There will be a disappearance. The only question now is who...
  9. Pee all you want. Just make damn sure it's crystal clear, or you'll be doing up-downs until the cows come home.
  10. Coach Shapeshifter looking like he lost about 7 years and 35 pounds since early July. And Mack looking content. It's actually really nice to see him embracing it all and basking in the warm sunshine.
  11. Herb Hand is an unlikely candidate to have such a strong twitter game. Never judge a book by its cover. Hulk Willie Nelson is going to be so fucking awesome this year. Against doctor's orders, Kool Aid initiated. Maryland is fucked.
  12. If that were to happen, it would result in an epic nationwide case of sports Schadenfreude. While I'm here, is it too late to crack a joke about Urban's selectively appearing heart condition?
  13. Personally, I blame the offensive line for allowing a safety on the first possession. Keep your shit together on that first drive (even a regular 3 and out), and Tech isn't nearly as juiced during that first quarter. I haven't watched the game at all since it happened. I had to look it up to make sure my memory was correct. Tech had the ball first. Texas forced a punt, and Tech downed the punt at the 2 yard line. That's awful starting position. One the first play, Chris O apparently went down in the endzone. All these years later, I had it in my mind that Colt had the ball. But it makes sense that the safety happened on a running play, for if Colt had been throwing, they probably would have advanced the ball between 5 and 95 yards. The o-line unable to push a running play forward when the team really needed it. It was a harbinger of things to come.
  14. If he goes by "Rod" that would be a game changer.
  15. Hypothetical depth chart for Germany. This is unreal: https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/how-germany-could-look-at-the-2018-world-cup-in-russia-447224.jsp As a general gripe, anyone wearing a Dortmund jersey other than Reus or Dahoud deserves a big question mark over his head, but based on overall reputation and not just current form, this is still pretty solid.
