  1. Are you saying you think the odds are high that Biden will achieve a larger EV victory than he did in 2020? Which states that went red in 2020 do you think are actually in play for Biden in 2024?
  2. I am not too worried about PA and I figure if Michigan goes then it probably means GA, AZ, and WI are even further gone. Trump won in 2016 and was very fucking close to winning in 2020 despite all logic. We can point all we want to “why” Biden should easily win those swing states, but Trump has shown that obvious logic often does not apply to his outcomes.
  3. There seems to be more downside vs 2020 than upside. Which states can be reasonably expected that will turn blue in 2024 vs 2020? North Carolina, maybe? Ohio and Iowa and Florida and Texas are the next closest states and they don’t seem all that close. On the other side, Trump’s path is pretty clear: repeat 2020 but flip Georgia, Arizona, and either Wisconsin or Michigan. That may not be likely, but a Trump victory seems an awful lot more possible than a Biden landslide.
  4. I hope you are right but refuse to believe it until we have some proof. If what you said is true then Biden should waltz to 310+ EV in November.
  5. I’m pretty despondent about November right now. It just doesn’t look like there’s nearly enough recognition by middle of the road and normally apathetic voters of what a grave threat Trump represents. I never expected to spend the 2nd third of my life as a revolutionary but if these dumb motherfuckers wanna fuck around I guess we’ll all find out together.
  6. Rough estimates: 40% of voters understand it and are actively fighting against it. 15% of voters understand it and are actively working to make it happen. 30% of voters are rubes getting duped into supporting it. 15% of voters are uninformed or apathetic or undecided. The voters in this section in Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan are going to decide the outcome.
  7. I felt like Vice President Britt did a pretty good job. She “gets” it.
  8. Gotta go back and see what Jesus of Nazareth was really about. I would go expecting to be disappointed. 2nd on the list (assuming I have unlimited time and don’t age while I’m time traveling) would be to go back and watch my parents as children and young adults; I think it would really help me with my life’s biggest problems. Same for going back and watching my own childhood, assuming that’s within the rules of the hypothetical. Other than that the list is really too long. I’d love to be an immortal fly-on-the-wall time traveler. I’d watch a lot of speeches, battles, sporting events, and concerts.
  9. Yeah this woman ain’t it. Like something out of a telenovela.
  10. How long do you think Johnson stood in front of the mirror pursing his lips like that trying to get that dissatisfied look just perfect for tonigh?
  11. He can’t not look old, but he is in peak performance so far. ETA: I hit post and he makes that “Moscow” fuck up. Fml
  12. He should taunt Johnson. “Why aren’t you clapping, Johnson? You don’t like more stuff being made in America? Clap, god dammit!”
  13. Missed opportunity to say “there’s a crummy hotel chain with my predecessor’s name on it, if you go into the gift shop, ALL the SHIT in there with his name on it was made in China…or as he says GGGJJJGJGJGJGYNA.”
  14. If Mike Johnson’s mouth opened and a bunch of shit flew out of it Green Mile style, I wouldn’t be surprised one tiny bit.
  15. Yeah her best play is to hide until February. If Trump’s movement still represents a meaningful voting block she can play up her role in his administration, if the country has come to its senses she can play up that she stood up to him as long as she could in 2024. Unless Trump commits to her as VP or Sec of State she has nothing to gain by endorsing him now, and she really has nothing to gain by endorsing Biden.
  16. Donald Trump has been an impactful political figure for going on NINE YEARS. Fuck my fucking life all the fucking way around and all the way up its ass. Fuck.
  17. Coaching standard this year seems pretty straightforward: Miss the tourney, you’re on the hot seat and anything short of round of 32 next season and you’re fired Round of 64, disappointing season but ok, you get another year and your seat is warm but not hot. Round of 32, fine. Nothing changes, let’s keep playing your contract. Round of 16, good job. Nothing changes, but we are happy. Round of 8, great job. Let’s discuss parameters of a raise/extension. Final Four, here’s your raise/extension. Championship game appearance, here’s your top 10 among all coaches raise/extension. Championship, congrats, you are now among the top 3 highest paid coaches in your field.
  18. I wonder how close the moderate conservatives are to splitting off. Haley holds some cards if she is willing to run 3rd party.
  19. It’s tough to think about how Im going to keep my kids safe when they get older. I’m not too worried about them intentionally taking fentanyl (or coke or Xanax), I’m much more worried about them drinking then doing something stupid once they lose their inhibitions. Scary shit.
  20. Would legit easily be one of the 5 best days of my life.
  21. Yep. If politics come up with someone and they say the word “but” after saying something negative about Trump, they are voting for Trump. Or if someone says anything negative about Biden without immediately confirming they are still voting for him, they are voting for Trump. Any sane person knows the stakes, and knows Trump cannot be allowed to be president. If there’s any ambiguity in a person’s opinion about the 2024 election, then they have been reading/watching/listening to brain poison and they are going to vote for Trump.
  22. Ok, so: Georgia election interference case possibly on hold because the prosecutor fucked her coworker DC election interference case on hold waiting on the conservative-led Supreme Court Florida classified docs case to be delayed because Trumper judge wants to NY porn star hush money case on track Not ideal
  23. Thanks for the reply. Hard to have faith in a currency whose governance is consistently and proudly described as “messy”. The SegWit change seems like it was an instance of the system passing a test, but I don’t really see why you think that single instance where everything worked out means that the system will pass all future tests. I also don’t understand how saying the nodes/users act as gatekeepers prevents large scale owners from exerting influence; the owners are the users, right?
  24. Seems like “historically” and “pretty much” might be doing a lot of heavy lifting in that explanation. I can see how it might be hard for Bitcoin owners to dictate code changes (although that seems like it relies on the small number of editors not being for sale). But someone getting ownership over a large % of coin seems like they sure could control the price. “To control Bitcoin is to kill it” seems like a good thing, but it assumes no one with enough capital to control it would want to kill it, and I’m not sure I buy that.
  25. Can you elaborate on that last point? I’m very interested to understand why someone owning a large percentage of a finite asset doesn’t give them control over how it is used.
