  1. There is a bridge. You just have to come through Corpus and N. Padre.
  2. Probably my wedding ring (1967). Pretty well cleaned out of other old things by a flood eight years ago.
  3. Fell in love with his music with this song on the old Kirk Wilson KAZZ-FM show in the late '60s, early 70's. So great, Edmund Fitzgerald, Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Sundown, too many great songs over the years. RIP Gord.
  4. I was thinkin' 'bout Alicia Keys, couldn't keep from tryin' Wanda Jackson cover I was thinkin' 'bout Jerry Lee
  5. We loved both Happy Valley and No Offense, but haven't seen Sandbaggers. Joanna Scanlan is a hilarious comedic actress, too, especially when paired with Vicki Pepperdine and Jo Brand (Getting On). We just finished the third season of Staged. I thought David Tennant was great. Third season started off slow for me, but got better.
  6. Just finished this one: Previously read this: I enjoyed the Frank Smith one the most. I could remember most of the news reporting of the Rabb incident at the time it happened, as I came to Austin in 1965. I had heard of Timmy Overton, but didn't know much about him and his escapades. Both interesting looks at Austin at the time.
  7. Great picture of Murray. I knew him and two of his sisters, Dolores Viktorin (RIP) and Leora Callahan Wilson McCarthy. I remember his mother, Lucy's, funeral. Cars were parked all along Hwy 71 access as there wasn't enough room in the parking lot. A good family.
  8. Port A visitors and residents woke up Saturday to an unpleasant surprise. Problems at the source put the entire city without natural gas. Thus, no gas central heat, hot showers or cooking except where an electric alternative existed. Most restaurants were closed. Taqueria San Juan's parking lot was empty when we left around noon yesterday. The supply has been restored, but all the meters have to be shut off before the lines can be pressured back up. They are projecting a return to normal by this afternoon. The city manager might be lucky he's not in Austin. If so, he might lose his job. Home - City of Port Aransas
  9. Was Tucker at said dinner? Was he seen near the turtle immediately before? Just asking questions.
  10. Googles says streaming for free on Tubi and Pluto.
  11. That's Jerry Garcia, second guitar from the right. Festival Express, train trip across Canada in 1970 with Janis, the Band, and the Dead. Great DVD.
  12. No, just Texans who have it on their phones.
  13. Wait... other schools had square fencing in PE? I thought that was just Baytown. Shit. Learn something new every day. We did it (square dancing, not square fencing) in DISD in the late '50s. Only a third or more sat it out with letters from their Baptist minister indicating they considered dancing a sin. Probably the same all over Texas.
  14. It is also not the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, also over the Ohio at Cincinnati, which I think is a more beautiful structure. Of course, I am a big Brooklyn Bridge fan, of the same design and designer, so that is natural. Been over the Spence many times from the airport in Covington to downtown Cincy.
  15. Just finished last episode last night. Wife and I both enjoyed. Looking forward to next season.
  16. Great-great grandfather, Idaho State Prison, May 1911 Grandmother, far left. Dad, far right. c. 1925 with grandmother's sisters in law at Woodlake Resort, Grayson County, TX. Grandmother (same as in first picture) with second husband at 1936 Texas Centennial, State Fair, Dallas. Dad, on a three inch fifty (I think), South Pacific 1942-1945
