  1. I mean, the guy has always been a few eggs short of a dozen... but this week has been horrible, even for him. Either he's an absolute moron, even more of one than many think, or he's actually having fun joking about the DOW dropping 2%, affecting people's savings/retirement/etc. No matter which answer is correct, neither are fit to hold that office. Trump followers that truly think he knows better than the Fed about how to stave off recession... I just don't have words anymore. I'm tired of sighing, rolling my eyes, and wondering what my first child (on the way!) will be born into down the road. Hopefully these four years are just an "Oops, our bad. -America" footnote in the history books.
  2. Don't get me wrong, I still have people that are (older) friends of friends that I want to call out their hypocrisy so badly, but at best, it would be a pyrrhic victory. Examples such as: "These mass shooters better hope they don't start shooting someplace where I am, I have my CCL, and I will put a stop to any attempts at mass murder" Narrator: Bullshit. You would run and hide for cover like everyone else, pulling out a pistol to have a firefight with someone wielding an AR isn't going to go well for you. "The recession won't matter to me! I was smart and lived below my means for years, anyone hurt by the recession basically deserves it." Narrator: Seeing the constant stream of "I got mine, fuck you and yours" get tiring. I'm an older millennial, but my wife and I have both figured out that it's going to be up to Gen X/Millennials to fix the world. It feels like we are seeing the last vestiges of Boomer political power. I honestly can count on both hands the amount of Trump supporters in my age group that I know. If Gen X/Millennials actually get out to vote, it should be a landslide Dem victory next election.
  3. As much as the thought of a second Trump term worries me, it seems like in the last three to four weeks momentum has greatly shifted away from that outcome. The economy slowing, trade war losing, gun violence AGAIN, and other things all seemingly being potentially too much for Trump to shrug off. Ya, ya, ya... queue the "I'd like to see ol Donny Trump wriggle his way out of this!", but it definitely feels like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel for us waiting out this administration. Are some Trump supporters actually starting to question if this really is the best direction for the country, or is this just wishful thinking?
  4. Yes, because four more years of Trump would definitely be better than someone you think lied about her Republican past. No, you're right, can't have someone who lies about something like that in the White House! You guys wonder why the left says you'll find any excuse to vote Trump again? Because right there, you're rationalizing that "I think Warren lied about that, so it's fine that Trump lies every other sentence. Same thing!" Again, to restate: You would rather Trump be president over anyone else you think has ever lied about anything basically.
  5. On the bright side, I have NEVER seen the differing political subreddits all agree on something: The dude was murdered
  6. People don't realize how many dominoes have fallen in favor of the 2nd amendment. Throw one marble in the road and no one will notice. Turn over a bucket full of marbles and someone's going to slip and fall.
  7. I 'm a big fan of Pete, I think he might be one of the sharpest candidates we've had in awhile. He might be a little green for this go-round, but I think a VP/Cabinet position would set him up really well for the future. Really though, we need more candidates like Pete on both sides (somehow it's possible to use "both sides" in a good way finally.) Candidates that are smarter, YOUNGER, and have a vested interest in the future of the country rather than just the next election cycle. It's probably an empty prospect of that happening, but one can hope.
  8. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/democrats-denounce-white-nationalism-after-el-paso-massacre Read the comments section. "What you're seeing and what you're hearing is not what is happening" in full force.
  9. What does it take for people to actually realize what trump is saying has consequences? If that “manifesto” going around is true, which basically says his goal was to “cleanse Texas of Hispanic invasion” and he wants to “send them back”, what does it fucking take for people to realize how close we are to this shit happening daily?
  10. Your avatar perfectly fit my reaction to reading this For the lazy -
  11. The next Bill Simmons podcast should be amazing
  12. I actually agree with this. If no KD, I'm pretty sure CLE wins handily in 2017. That CLE team was actually really, really good, they just ran into the absolutely best incarnation of these GSW teams.
  13. Feels the same to me. One team is just peaking at the perfect time, the other is noticeably tired/injured/older than they were at the start of the run. Don't get me wrong, both teams healthy I think GSW in 5, maybe 6. Right now, I'm pretty sure KD is not coming back, I can see GS winning game 5, maybe even game 6 back at home, but the wear & tear on Curry/Klay by game 7 may be too much to overcome. On the same token, they could easily shoot poorly and lose game 5 by 20.
  14. Awful, but some cool CGI. That's the biggest compliment I can give it.
  15. Prince Charles spent 75 minutes longer than scheduled trying to convince Donald Trump of the dangers of climate change but the president still insisted the US was “clean” and blamed other nations for the crisis "Stable Genius"
  16. No, because seeing the overall ending plot points, and imagining that GRRM will get us there in a much smoother way, is promising. Because if Jon being a Targaryean, and that not mattering at all, simply cannot be the way the books end up. I refuse to believe that a plot point THAT significant, THAT world-changing, would only be used as another cog in the wheel of Dany going crazy. I'm actually ok with most of the endings. Jon being a Wildling and living free, away from the Westeros politics, seems like that would make him happy. Sansa, Queen of the North, completes her arc nicely, in my opinion. However, I'm only ok with Bran being King, if the following are true: He sees all past events and can (at least somewhat) see future events He saw Drogon flying over KL He knew that everything leading up to Dany going crazy was in motion. (Him telling Jon that he was right where he needed to be all along, in order to make this timeline be the one that occurs) He knew that Jon being the rightful heir would have no meaning, other than driving a wedge between him and Dany, and being part of the reason she goes crazy He knew that all these events would eventually transpire which would lead to him being King He wanted to be King (Why? Who knows? Would have been nice to get more info about Bran, AT ALL, other than him flying with the Ravens during the apocalypse) It's bittersweet, because like I said I generally didn't have a problem with the overall ending. This was and still is, one of the best shows ever, any genre. But it's bittersweet knowing that they had the potential to be the best ever, and rushed it so they could get started on Star Wars.
  17. Draymond is quickly approaching GOAT "Hate him, but would love him on your team" status
  18. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1112922221037719552 So... the Dems killed the bill to give $ to PR, and now they want to give more $ to PR? Am I missing something? Also, apparently I have no idea how to do the Twitter preview thing.
  19. You literally thought it would be a good idea if Tucker Carlson ran for President. What kind of response do you expect?
  20. Just an FYI, My wife is visiting a friend of her's at her friend's parent's house in the Villages, FL. Today, there was a golf cart parade of people (at least 60+ golf carts) with signs saying "BUILD THE WALL" These are old, mostly white, retirees upset about immigration. They don't work, they aren't losing jobs to illegal immigrants, they are just people scared of the immigrants for no reason at all. Going to be a long time before they migrate their way to FL...
  21. We are so, so, SO far away from that level of talent.
