  1. I think Carson Edwards will be a Top 5 player in this draft! He reminds me of Damian Lillard. I so want the Spurs to draft him as he would be a perfect fit for them! I do not get NBA scouting. They keep drafting tall centers (Jackson Hayes, Bol Bol) who have no use in today's game or 6'7 forwards who cannot shoot the 3 like RJ Barrett, De'Andre Hunter, Cam Reddish, PJ Washington. Yet they ignore point guards like Carson Edwards who have unlimited range and can get to the rim and finish, which are the two most important attributes in today's game!
  2. Why do they have a friendly scheduled next year? Ajax will be selling many of their young talents, so it may not be as much fun.
  3. Below is a list of the 2019 ACL Fest by Genre. What bothers me is that there is a 33% decrease across all Rock genres from 2018 (39 artists in 2018, 26 artists in 2019), while all other genres remain the same! As someone who saw the first two Lollapooza festivals in 1991 and 1992 (the modern day re-start to the music festival), this is a big disappointment. I would certainly want to see the first two Lollapalooza lineups more than the 2019 ACL fest lineup as I saw Guns N' Roses open up for the Cult BEFORE Appetite for Destruction had even been released on September 12, 1987 at Palmer Auditoreum (Yes I am OLD AF!): Dates: July 18, 1991 – August 28, 1991 Main Stage: Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Living Colour, Nine Inch Nails, Violent Femmes , Fishbone, Ice T & Body Count, Butthole Surfers (occasionally billed as "BH Surfers,") Rollins Band, Lords of Acid, EBN[5] Side Stage: Othello's Revenge (Mountain View at Shoreline Amphitheater)[6] Dates: July 18, 1992 – September 13, 1992 Main Stage: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Ice Cube, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Lush. Side Stage: Rage Against The Machine (Irvine Meadows), Tool (Waterloo Village, NJ), Jim Rose Circus Sideshow, Sharkbait, Archie Bell dancers, Porno for Pyros, Basehead, Cypress Hill, House of Pain, Sweaty Nipples, Arson Garden, Seaweed, Seam, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Magnet School, Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., The Look People, Stone Temple Pilots, The Vulgar Boatmen, NIN, Skrew, Tribe, The Authority, Samba Hell, Café Tacuba Groovement,Gary Heffern with Ivan Krall, Ice T & Body Count, Treponem Pal, Luscious Jackson, Shrunken Head, Sometime Sweet Susan, Temple of the Dog, Dahli Llama, Gun Cult Prophets, Doo Rag, Billyclub Fest and Sweet Lizard Illtet.
  4. Aaron Donald who is the protypical 4-3 3-technique is only 285 lbs. Here is Aaron Donald's spider graph vis-a-vis other IDL in 10-yard split (99%), 40 yard dash (99%), vertical jump (80%), broad jump (96%), 3-Cone Drill (97%), 20-yard shuttle (88%), and bench press (92%): https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/aaron-donald?position=IDL. In other words, speed, power, and athleticism kills on the defensive front and Trysten Hill only has power! Presumably, Trysten Hill is going to replace Maliek Collins, bc the Cowboys staff doesn't want to re-sign him (2019 is last year of his rookie deal) as they think Collins is a replacement level player. But, Maliek Collins and Trysten Hill have very similar measurables, except Collins is quicker in the 20 yard shuffle: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/maliek-collins?position=IDL. So maybe this is just a cheaper way to replace a player they are not that thrilled with in the first place. I think that is the wrong approach, particularly with a 2nd round pick where you should be looking to upgrade your starting units. This again was the approach in the awful 2009 draft!
  5. I think the better question is how does 3 Sigma Athlete (which I also follow) calculate their SPARQ scores for DTs? That website does not break down how they arrive at the composite SPARQ score for DTs! Mock Draftable is just using actual combine results (search his combine numbers and they match what is posted on MockDraftable) and compares them to all other DTs in their draft database going back a lot of years. I don't know how Trysten Hill has such a high SPARQ number if his 40 yard dash and 3-cone are shit, his broad jump and 20 yard shuttle are slightly below average, his verticle jump is slightly above average and only his bench press is well above average relative to other DTs?
  6. I am actually fine witht the Cowboys building from the outside in and the idea of getting an explosive interior rusher. However, I didn't love the Trysten Hill pick bc they could have gotten him later and his athletic measurables do not say explosive or athletic: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/trysten-hill?position=ATH. If he were so athletic, why couldn't he start for a non-BCS school? I do love the Connor McGovern pick! I think he will have a long solid career after everything I have read. His measurables do scream stud athlete at guard or center: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/connor-mcgovern. Where the Cowboys really messed up their draft was in the fourth round picking up Tony Pollard, when they could have gotten him in the fifth and even the sixth round! They missed out on picking what looks to be a total stud DE in John Cominsky (check out these measurables: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/john-cominsky). Cominsky could have been the sleeper to make up for selecting Taco Charlton two years ago. Taco Charlton has proven to be too slow and completely unexplosive to be a rush DE, which his measurables screamed: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/taco-charlton. Here is a good read on how the Cowboys panicked on a run of RBs and may even have mistakenly handed in Tony Pollard's name instead of John Cominsky's name: https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2019/4/28/18519791/after-the-dust-has-settled-how-do-you-feel-about-the-cowboys-eight-players-from-the-2019-nfl-draft. Also with Tony Pollard, the Cowboys spent 2 of their first 3 picks on guys who could not even start for their non-BCS teams. This draft feels the most like their awful 2009 draft bc they drafted for backup depth and special teams instead of trying to find starters (Tony Pollard's greatest asset is having 7 kick return TDs when there are no longer kick returns in the NFL!).
  7. I don't know how Obscure Joy Division is considered. But, I heard it at a RaceTrack gas station and barely remembered it. But loved it enough to download it and it is one of my most played on my iTunes account. This was Joy Divisions only US Top 200 hit. Members of Joy Division later formed New Order and had several hits.
  8. This will be popular here, but not to NYC foodies: Texas brisket is the hardest dish to perfect in the world. You can teach Aaron Franklin to cook the best dishes by Arnaud Donckele, Michael Troisgros, Allaine Ducasse, Gordon Ramsay, etc do, but you will immediately chop up their shit brisket and smother it in sauce if these "World's Greatest Chefs" had to cook 10,660 lbs of brisket a week by "feel".
  9. The Big Mac and the Quarter Punder with Cheese are still Top 10 Burgers on earth. Backpack Europe for a month and a half or more and see if you don't absolutely crave either!
  10. I would select among the Front Burner Restaurants in order: Mexican Sugar (Mexican/Latin American cuisine), Whiskey Cake (farm to table), Haywire (farm to table) or Taverna Rosa (Italian), Union Bear, or Mi Dia
  11. True Detective Season 1 is the Answer. But, in all honesty Angel Heart my be in my Top 20 moviers of all-time. It also captures the creapiness of the underbelly (voodoo) of New Orleans and Louisiana swamp and I think True Detective really stole a lot from Angel Heart.
  12. Just an FYI, Jesuit JV which is mostly Freshman tied HPD D2 8-8 and should have beaten them as Jesuit JV were missing 4 of the top Freshman. HP DII is Freshman dominated. HP's Sophomore class (2020) and Junior (2019) classes are very thin. The Woodlands is deep 2019-2020 as is ESD. Next couple of years, the best teams are likely to be The Woodlands and ESD with Southlake, Plano West, being upstarts because of strong 2020 classes. Jesuit and HP will be right there, but a rung below ESD and The Woodlands. In 2021 the best teams will likely be HP and Jesuit.
  13. I know the IOC tests for SARMs. Does professional boxing and MMA test for all types of SARMs in addition to Ostarine (the weakest of all SARMs)?
  14. Again is NSAA hidden? I am not trying to artificially boost post count until I know the mystical NSAA becomes a reality on Surly.
  15. I am starting to wonder if Pep is going to do a Sterling for Isco swap. Isco is more of a Pep type of player with creative Spanish style football, whereas Sterling is pure pace with very good dribbling skills, but lacks precision passing and finishing. I would hate to give up Sterling, bc he adds so much pressure on the right wing. He is a perfect complement to Sane's incredible pace and dribbling on the other wing. I think Isco is like a stronger Bernardo, but better finisher. I believe that Bernardo is slated to replace David Silva in the midfield and ultimately will not be a winger. But David Silva is not coming off the pitch until he starts looking like an old David Silva. Here in lies Pep's dilemma for the next couple of years if he adds more attacking players like Isco. How does he keep all of these world class players who have £75+mm valuations happy when there are only 3 attacking positions up for grabs (De Bruyne and David Silva won't come off the field and Gundogan is the backup if either is injured/need rest)? If you add Isco, you will have Isco, Sane, Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, and Bernardo trying to play those three positions. I also think Sane has pushed himself into the must play with De Bruyne and David Silva and he is the only left footed attacker in the six above to play left wing (for crosses on strong foot). Therefore, that would leave Isco, Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, and Bernardo to rotate into two positions (#9 and right wing). Apparently, Pep is promising Isco that he would play regularly (Isco's issue with Real Madrid) and he is not really a #9, that means Sterling is superfluous. Therefore, if Isco is purchased, I think Sterling is sold (Bernardo will not be sold bc he is the heir apparent for David Silva). Real Madrid is interested in buying Sterling. Both teams value their players at £100+mm, so I wonder if there will be a straight swap for Isco and Sterling this Summer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. PS5 does not have a release date. Speculation is 2019 or 2020, likely closer to Christmas in either year. That is a long time to wait to fill out your media room gaming system. By that logic, he should wait for XBOX Two or PS6. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Just a proposal since this is a new site, is there any chance that we can have a weight limited NSAA AND a Vic Mackey BBW NSAA for those of us who might not be able to FAP to Vic's fetish of choice?
  18. As a means to start up the General Lacrosse Thread, the Missouri High School State Lacrosse Champions, MICDS, plays the 2x defending State Champions Dallas Jesuit at Jesuit's Postell stadium tonight (Thursday 3/29) at 7:30pm.
  19. If you are getting a 4K TV with HDR (which should be a no brainer for a new media room at current prices for 4K HDR TVs; I just bought two 65" 4K HDR LG 8000 TVs for ~~ $1k each at zero percent interest at Nebraska Furniture Mart for 3 years), then you should future proof with the XBOX One X. It is 40% more powerful than even the PS4 Pro. Here is a good write up comparing the XBOX One X to the PS4 Pro: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/xbox-one-x-vs-ps4-pro/
  20. ^^^ I can also throw in: 5) largest title-winning point margin of 18 (ManU 99/00). Again, Man City is sitting at a margin of 16 currently and if Man City and Man United win out, except Man City wins at the Ethiad 4/7, then Man City will break that record as well at 19.
  21. I am a rabid Man City Fan. I never miss a game and I even watch the U23s play their games through streaming. I have been a fan since I watched Man City's miraculous 2 goal come back to win the 2012 EPL title against QPR in injury time (Dzeko then Aguero). That was the first EPL game I have watched start to finish on TV and I loved the reaction of the Manchester United fans who reminded me of crying OU fans. I also naturally hate Manu bc they remind me of the Yankees. Anyway, Man City has to be considered the best team in modern day Premier league if they break: 1) the total points record of 95 (2004/2005 Chelsea), 2) Most wins of 30 (16/17 Chelsea), 3) Goal Differential of 71 (Chelsea 09/10), and 4) most goals in a single season of 103 (Chelsea 09/10). With 8 games to play heading to play Everton at Goodison Park, Man City is sitting at: 1) 81 points (max is 105), 2) 26 Wins (max is 34), 3) 65 goal differential, and 4) 85 goals scored. Therefore, Man City is head of pace to break ALL of these records in a single season. The only record that even looks 50/50 at this point is 103 total goals scored. Man City needs to average 2.375 goals per game in the final 8 games (they have averaged 2.833 up until this point) to break the single season goals record.
  22. I love Torchy's, but Rusty's Tacos is less than half the price for similar quality ingredients, but you sacrifice the inventiveness and sauces of torchy's. Breakfast tacos at Rusty's are $2.25 and lunch tacos are $2.50 vs $5-$6 for most Torchy's Tacos. I also love the Happy Hour Good Stuff margaritas at Rusty's. That being said, I always order the Mad Cow without Blackbeans and the Brushfire and put copius amounts of creamy chipotle and Diablo sauce on both. My favorite taco is the Scaulding Pig when the "Some Like it Hot" menu rolls out in August.
  23. So is NSAA a hidden link until you get to 30 posts and get your appeal approved? Unlike old site, I do not see the NSAA topic link at the top of the page.
