  1. I’d have told my wife to risk it. The alternative, that her friends survive and have a blast, is to much of a risk for me to take.
  2. Lumber costs have never been higher as far as I can tell right now. Construction costs are high to very high and timelines are tough to predict when workers get poached and don’t show. Meanwhile I am slumming it in 30A but I have to fly back to Houston on Monday for other work. Really hoping the flight is cancelled. Beta is sending rain that is about to hit.
  3. Just sold the last beachfront spec in Galveston. Threaded the closing needle between Laura and future beta. I’ve never seen real estate market so strong in Galveston. Title companies can’t keep up, they are requesting 45 day close in contracts.
  4. Power has been out since 3:40 and the inside of our house is sitting in 2"-4" of water. Our only road out of the community is flooded and the starter on my truck took a shit yesterday. Songoing to try and stay in a hotel assuming they have power and I can get out some how. Damn. I’m flying into ECP tomorrow and could be heading home same day then. Hopefully you can get out soon.
  5. The peaceful protestor chugging someone’s drink doesn’t seem very sanitary considering the times we live in.
  6. Yea. I'd say Montgomery county is almost back to normal. I've been back in the office for over a month now. No one is going to the mall though. I went to the mall just to see and it will be an amazon warehouse soon.
  7. Blocking (or slowing down) traffic or not knowing how to go through TSA pre check are where I draw the line.
  8. Thanks for additional context. I posted the tweet for the video. I tend to give whatever context people provide with a video on Twitter not a lot of credence.
  9. How does game theory work?
  10. I traveled to Nashville for work on Thursday and came back on Friday. Inside Nashville city limits all liquor and beer sales are stopped at 10:30 PM. This was done to stop the bars which they could not close apparently. This means you could not even buy a beer in the hotel and take it to you room after 10:30. Kind of lame. Thankfully upgrades on United are easy to come by and they are serving again.
  11. I don't think masks are going to help them much tonight. Nice for you to think this though.
  12. 2020 bro. Also most people know what the gulf can do to a storm and we see it happening right now. It is going East because some butterfly flapped it’s wings. It could have easily gone west in another simulation. Also fear is addictive.
  13. The ridge is going to weaken! Still not feeling 100% out of it but I feel a lot better today then yesterday.
  14. Yup, every wobble will matter. I am glad the euro didn't go further west though.
  15. This guy continues to provide bad news but so far his projections seem to be panning out.
  16. Making the decision today whether to get out of here. I’m not feeling no power for days on end and I don’t have a generator. I’ll be heading to the FL panhandle. Maybe I can draw this thing East.
  17. NHC had this in their latest forecast discussion: The new NHC prediction is at the eastern edge of the new guidance envelope since I don't want to bite off on such a large change on just one set of model runs. But since the storm has been tracking west of forecast expectations for quite some time, future westward track adjustments could be required later today.
  18. Latest euro run. At this point it’s just too close. Wobbles could make a huge difference for Houston and Galveston. I am only posting euro because it has now been west or in the western portion of NHC’s cone for two (or three) runs.
