  1. Also the vaccine may improve or get rid of any long haul symptoms people who had Covid were continuing to suffer from. https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/vaccines-long-covid
  2. It's not like the group who feels compelled to wear body armor when at the deli buying lunch, but can't be arsed to put a piece of cloth over their face for those same 5 minutes, really give a fuck about protecting anyone or anything but their egos.
  3. So how does trump giving a speech to the Moonies on 9/11 fit in? This is one hell of a conspiracy theory.

    9/11

I'm conflicted. I was working in the airline industry and was living just outside of NYC on 9/11 and knew some of the people killed that day. Thankfully, no close family or friends. But I see how we've used that day since that time and am even more disturbed looking back. I saw someone somewhere (twitter?) comparing 9/11 to the Reichstag Fire, not the day itself, but the way those in power have used an attack on the country to seize power, and that feels like a good comparison at this point.
  5. Or you could just convince the "super valuable employee" who's also somehow simultaneously too fucking stupid to get vaccinated to get tested weekly. If your "super valuable employee" won't even consent to testing to protect 102 other people maybe, just maybe, he or she isn't "super valuable."
  6. These assholes need to be stuck homeschooling their spoiled brats.
  7. I'm starting to root for the virus.
  8. Getting flu vaccine soon, and the main reason I'm getting it in September rather than a little later on, because I'm not an antivax moron, is that some of the guidance suggests that the flu and Covid vaccines should be spaced a few weeks apart, and don't want any risk of the flu vaccine interfering with a Covid vaccine booster.
  9. The Bush v. Gore Court says hold my beer. And, no I don't want to rehash the 2000 election any more than the 2016 election. But SCOTUS issued a non-precedential opinion that decided an entire presidential election on nakedly partisan grounds. I'm not sure they had legitimacy since at least that time.
  10. This. It was a bonehead move to ever subpoena those records. There's little of substance that could be obtained and if you used those records at trial you would just inflame the jury anyway. I've done quite a bit of civil defense work, and I've obtained similar records on occasion. But in, for example, a case with a badly injured 17-year-old, who claims he would have gone to med school and made hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Not as to a first grader killed in circumstances that made international news.
  11. Pregnancy is calculated from day of last menstrual cycle. It's therefore nearly impossible for a woman to know she's pregnant before at least 4 weeks.
  12. Yes, prices fluctuate. No, there's no time of year prices are cheaper. Price fluctuations are due to tons of factors--economy in general, current events, fuel prices, etc.--and aren't predictable. Just keep an eye on them/set up an alert for your dates, and book when they go below a certain price. As a very overly generalized rule, prices can be best a few weeks or maybe a month or two out----if you're booking very early the airline has little incentive to try and get rid of "extra" seats, and last second is usually very expensive
  13. Need to get to work
  14. People buying guns.
  15. Didn't Ohio just pass a law saying providers could deny services based on patients' sexual orientation. Yup. They did. https://fortune.com/2021/07/09/ohio-law-allows-doctors-to-deny-health-care-and-birth-control-to-lgbtq-patients/. And I'm sure with the support, or at best crickets, from Owens and her ilk. Fuck them.
  16. I'm not in this profession. And while I may agree with you in some hypothetical level, I am completely out of fucks to give right now about poor, poor Candace Owens, who might have to, gasp, wait a few days for test results with the rest of the hoi polloi who she's spent years arguing that access to basic healthcare should be removed from. Fuck her. If she wanted a reasoned discussion on access to healthcare maybe she and the rest of the right wing shouldn't have spent the past decade taking a sledge hammer to the social contract.
  17. Suzanna Lee needs to get free drinks for life.
  18. I'll just put this here-- a good place to donate if you actually want to help poor women in Texas. https://teafund.org/
  19. The cruelty is the point. They know their rich, connected daughters and wives will be able to get abortions. It's about punishing and controlling poor women and minority women. And who cares about how they would theoretically vote when you can just ram through more voter suppression laws.
  20. Well, we know which group concerns him more.... Also, to add, only one of these groups is going around holding widespread rallies against masks and vaccines and trying to convince others through their elected offices, TV/radio shows, etc. not to get vaxxed.
  21. I thought Shane and Rachel were going to Tahiti.
  22. This his cardiologist? https://www.dallasnews.com/news/courts/2021/08/13/baylor-health-sues-covid-19-vaccine-skeptic-and-demands-dallas-doctor-stop-using-its-name/
