  1. Your work reminds me of the player's wife who makes these badass custom NFL jackets, sportswear designer Kristin Juszczyk. Now, lots of companies are ripping her off but her custom jackets go for a lot of $$$$.
  2. Some stats about the wonderful sport many people dream to obtain: Wow on the average QB career lasting 30 games! Average career length The average NFL career lasts 3.3 years, which is shorter than other major sports leagues. The NFL is considered one of the most physically demanding sports leagues in the world, with players regularly exposed to hard hits and collisions. This leads to a high risk of injury, and many players are forced to retire early or miss significant time due to injuries. Positional differences Kickers have the longest average career at 4.4 years, while running backs have the shortest at 2.57 years. Quarterbacks also face one of the shortest average careers in the NFL, lasting roughly 30 games. After retirement 78% of players go broke within three years of retirement, and 15.7% of players file for bankruptcy within 12 years of leaving the league.
  3. One of the smart reasons Murphy had for transferring to Duke is that it's a school with great outcomes. The connections he is making and the alumni pipeline is on another level to help him lead a highly successful (and maybe better) life if he doesn't make it to the NFL.
  4. Here is the apparel shoot that I got Quinn's autograph at. Rhoback is a great brand. I really like the styling on their performance shirts. Check them out.
  5. I don't know how they arrived at their decision to hold Canoe Slalom and Softball in OKC, but since LA was successful in securing the first Summer Olympics to be held in the US for over 30 years, I am going to trust their judgement. We had better freaking clean house in the 2028 3v3 basketball medal standings, or I am sending an angry letter to The NY Times.
  6. The largest softball stadium in Southern California seats 2000 peeps, whereas the facility in Oklahoma City is world-class. Also, a rowing event will also take place in Oklahoma City, which maintains a great facility, whereas LA had none. With baseball returning to the games in 2024, perhaps the committee was only able to reserve one large stadium. I honestly don't know. But the stated goal of these LA Olympic Committee (and one of the reason they won) was a promise not to build any additional infrastructure. Paris accomplished the same goal. The idea is to avoid the horrors of Athens and Brazil, with large, expensive facilities being built, then permanently sitting vacant. There are articles about it and I will read up on it.
  7. Apparently, it was done in an effort to keep construction costs down, since an expensive, new softball facility might not be sustainable for LA in the long term. Seems very random, but it does give people a once-in-a-lifetime ability to attend an Olympic event.
  8. Who is heading with me to Oklahoma City in 2028 to watch the Olympics? if you've always wanted to attend, this may be your chance.
  9. I am seeing a very positive sign repeat itself. Daily Mail was making an entire industry out of their almost-hourly attacks on Biden, with article after article focused on his mental gyrations. Now, they have little to pick on about Harris. There simply isn't enough material to attack her in any sustainable way. Being the shameless, opportunitive whores that they are, Daily Mail is now switching their attacks to Trump. I see this as a good sign, as it also happened in 2020, when the conservative mood shifted against him.
  10. Major shout-out to the trans boxer for depriving China of another gold medal, which allowed the US to claim victory using the overall medal count.
  11. He could play the same role that Ross Perot did.
  12. Yes. Better to have him on the ballot.
  13. Is it a conventional wisdom that we want RFK on the ballot? Seems to me he more likely to pull votes from MAGAs which can help defeat Trump.
  14. Were the coaches vaping THC? They really let down Brittney Griner by locking her up. She got cold during her imprisonment on the bench, which felt like a life sentence. She might has well been in Siberia when we needed her most. I bet they wished they could have done a player swop with her and Caitlin Clark.
  15. My fave unhinged comment about Caitlin Clark: After Clark broke the NCAA scoring record, the former scoring record holder, Lynette Woodard, going on stage and claiming she feels she is still the record holder!
  16. Word in Washington is there's going to be a congressional hearing on the 3 v 3 debacle. It could really ugly and make the 1950's McCarthy hearings look like a game show.
  17. Australia is the new Aggy. "if you count gold medals by population and only count the top ten small populations, and tally the medals for only the first week, we won the Olympics!"
  18. Westlake starts and ends with their offensive and defensive lines, which will be good, but not the best ever. We have a good QB who will play at the next level. We lost our great little running back, who went to Army. We should get to the state quarterfinals, and with luck, the semifinals. We can't get past North Shore these days.
  19. Paging @Helobious My beloved Chaps are opening at home vs San Benito. Can you please provide me any info about what to expect, players to watch for, etc? Thnx in advance.
  20. Depends on whose rules you played with. The 92 game was more physical. Today's game allows less physicality. The '24 team is more athletic overall and better at shooting 3's.
