  1. Haha, fair point. But Turtle Tom is so much more easy to hate.
  2. Hahah. This guy was actually our coach, and the next one was just as bad.
  3. Yes, he gets mad at the people whom he claims are blind, Sam homers, which I admit to being one. However, look at all the comments on his posts attacking Sam's skill level. He has been doing so since Sam first came to UT. He is certainly entitled to his opinions, but not to his own version of reality.
  4. LOL, wait, what? Do you expect people to believe that? It took me less than five minutes to find these posts by you in this thread. These are your words below. There are so many posts by you attacking Sam that I actually got tired of choosing between them, lol. Aug 21 2022 this thread is, without a doubt, the most embarrassing, aggy-esque thread in the history of this site. it truly is. the blind homerism, the mob mentality, the never ending echo chamber where only one specific type of post is allowed; it's shameful. people are literally getting negged and cussed out en masse for suggesting that Sam Ehlinger may not be NFL QB material, and according to this thread, everything that goes wrong for Sam is anyone's fault but his. absolutely embarrassing. aggy as hell. aggy aggy aggy all day long. Aug 23 2022 i quietly, and without throwing it into your faces observed as more and more and more people came out of the woodwork to say that everyone else here had been overrating Sam and that he really wasn't anywhere close to being the Heisman candidate he was supposed to be. thank god for all of you i did not behave in the ravenous, out-for-blood manner in which you do when it comes to Sam. Feb 9 2021 The Verdict on Sam Ehlinger's draft stock: (happily reposted by shadow_operative) The other half consists of physical qualities, and there, Ehlinger comes up short. He lacks an NFL arm, both in terms of strength and elasticity. And he’s not as athletic as a dual-threat quarterback should be. FEB 9 2021 (“DO THEY NOT WATCH FILM IN THE NFL?!?!?!) is over here comparing Sam to an MVP-level NFL QB and saying that he'll definitely become a starter, despite his film showing him to be a marginal NFL prospect at best. Feb 9 2021 Sam probably will wash out very quickly in the league. yeah, sounds like a great comparison. Feb 2 2021 i haven't said anything here that hasn't been said by countless other people. Sam Ehlinger is not a Texas football legend. Nov 21, 2020 So when I said that he's been "at times mediocre - down right bad", i'm pointing to his i inconsistency, not saying that he *is* mediocre-bad. Oct 24 2020 However, the idea that the guys who surround Sam are a bunch JV player clowns who keep sabotaging him is asinine, and if you seriously still can't see that then you are not capable of being objective. I counted at least four or five major overthrows/underthrown balls today by Sam, which is standard for him. He factually lets his WRs down more often than they do him. Sam makes mistakes; his instincts are shaky at best; he often holds onto the ball too long, and he has a long history of being erratic throwing the ball.
  5. After spending the last four YEARS in this very thread telling us (in mind-numbingly repetitive posts) that Sam sucked, do you expect us to respect your opinions?
  6. Dear God, no. Please keep Sam away from the dumpster fire.
  7. I hope you are, but it's truly amazing how many morons get employed in the NFL. Here's a few fave moves: The Texans made Bill O'Brien their coach and GM. Bill O'Brien. Mike Ditka traded away his entire draft picks for Ricky Williams. Jeff Fisher, after running the Titans into the ground, getting hired by the Rams, where he happily ruined the careers of even more QB's The Cleveland Browns
  8. At this point, nothing would surprise me. Sam could get traded, put on the practice squad or simply cut. After all, this is the league where geniuses just gave Kurt Cousins an additional, guaranteed $35M and DeAndre Hopkins was traded for a second round pick and a washed-up running back that Arizona was planning on cutting!!!!
  9. Our Chaps have the misfortune to play them next Friday. Judson is loaded and are coming off a victory over arguably the best team in the state. They will carry this victorious momentum which will ignite into a revengeful fury against the privileged, slow, entitled and overrated Chaps. Westlake drags itself into the game, nursing the physical beating they endured in a game which they certainly should have lost, but for some suspiciously questionable referee calls. Westlake shows some feeble signs of life early, then is buried in an avalanche of righteous athleticism. Judson 62 Westlake 4 (yes, 4 - two intentional safeties by Judson)
  10. LOL. Yes, I live on Bee Caves Rd and am quite familiar w the species and their mating habits. One of my single friends contends that the most aggressive cougars can be spotted in their natural habitat at the bar at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. The apartments next to the Galleria are stocked full of sad-faced dads who recently divorced and thought life would get fun again but are realizing that trying to date on Friday nights and then attend their kid’s Saturday 8am soccer games kinda sucks.
  11. Well, the new California moms are beautiful, for sure, but they’re a little too pristine and put-together for my sensibilities. Teslas, $400 jeans, and spotless shoes. I prefer the drunk, hot Texas moms who start partying around 3pm and saunter into the stadium half-crocked.
  12. Final was Westlake 44-14. @MonkeyDoughnut, I was very impressed w Ridge Point. They are big, with fast athletes all over the field. They gave our Chaps all we could handle in the first half. Their defensive line was stout AF. Their offensive left tackle is a monster and they have a burner at WR. (going to Baylor) They look like they are poised for a deep run. I haven't seen a team shut down our interior runs in along time. Good luck.
  13. Now 28-14 but definitely a desultory performance by the Chaps. The offense is struggling. UPDATE: Our boosters had a "little talk" with the refs at halftime. It has seemed to help.
  14. Of course not. But Westlake isn't competing w Lanier. They're competing with other accomplished programs, many of them have also been better coached and play smarter than Charlie Strong, Tom Herman and now Sark-led Texas. The original poster claimed that high school football is shitty. There are many of us who know better.
  15. Shitty football? Our Westlake team has been better coached and has performed better than Texas for the last ten years and it’s not even close. Lake Travis also has been better coached. We support our community and watch our teams, who also happen to be very successful. Your argument about why we shouldn’t watch it makes no sense.
  16. You did spend the last few years writing turgid diatribes about why Sam sucked, so forgive me if I am somewhat skeptical of your recently-acquired fandom.
