Other than for the nostalgia, which I get, Peggy Sue’s food was shit. At least it was the last few years. So unless the new spot is somehow able to capture that nostalgia, which doesn’t seem very likely, but who knows, I can’t imagine it’s very good. Agree on NY Subs though. Love that place. Second best sub I’ve had in town. Well...now that Jimmy’s isn’t doing them, I guess they’re #1
  2. Seemed fine when my kid was there but no real opinion either way. But the real question is...Woodward or Macatee?
  3. Cool. Guessing it won't be the last time 2 people have differing opinions on here. But, hey...we can both be not seen dead at park house together because I won't be joining there either.
  4. I didn't know there was a hatchet to bury
  5. This thread is comprised almost entirely of guys bitching about various hosts, yet you feel the need to post repeatedly about me not thinking Jake is all that great. Seems you’re the one who’s the bitch with the obsession. Be it for me, or for your boy Jake, or maybe both. Either way...noted.
  6. You've told that joke before and it was equally as dumb then. Sorry you're poor. And I don't even come close to hating Jake. I'd have to give much more of a shit about him to hate him.
  7. Jake probably thinks that.
  8. They're interchangeable. And apparently the ticket and Dan agree with me. And the fact that you don't, probably means we're correct.
  9. I actually paid someone to punch me in the nuts repeatedly while listening to that soccer game on the radio while getting a root canal - instead of watching the Oscars.
  10. Good for Junior for calling out the Oscars for sucking in his review. I was sure he would take the position of how great it was, given his usual horrible takes on most things and his weird affinity for award shows.
  11. I found the difference between Jake and McClearin to be negligible at best. Hell, there was even one time ( think it was around Wednesday) where I tuned in and didn't remember Jake even was out because I couldn't really tell the difference for a couple minutes. Proving once again how spare/fair Jake is. Okay, maybe spare/fair is a little harsh, but he's completely replaceable. And also shows how much Dan brings to the table.
  12. How did any of you last more than about 10 minutes through that thing? Un. Watchable.
  13. Nothing says getting out of Austin, Texas like going somewhere for a Red Dirt Americana music festival. Abort. Abort.
  14. Ooooooh...hadn't thought of that. That might have a little something.
  15. Oh hahaha saw one of the bars is called Gatsby's so thought maybe they were carrying that throughout.
  16. Haha you’ve never had the very specific variety called “hot pepper” before?
  17. Is it a Roaring 20’s themed place? Or what’s the deal there?
  18. I'd eat that. Minus the tomato...add roasted red peppers. Can't remember where I picked that up, but it was some dude from NY who wins best Italian sub in the city every year or some shit. Lot of people say his biggest differentiator is that he uses roasted red peppers instead of tomatoes. I tried it and it took my sandwiches to 11. Something about the texture and flavor that just works better than tomato. I now keep a jar of them on hand at all times just for such an occasion. Try it, thank me later. And I always like a little shredded lettuce too, but I can see where some would find that part optional.
  19. Here’s a hint...you get what you pay for
  20. Those boxes and bags also have value to the knockoff market. People selling the fake shit will buy authentic boxes, bags, etc to make the fake shit seem more real when trying to sell them as authentic. You can even sell your authentic sales receipts so people can include them when selling fakes and trying to play them off as real.
