  1. I stayed at the Le Meridien which was pretty centrally located between Old Delhi and the diplomatic area of the city in early 2018... Pretty sure I paid $250ish for a club level room. It was nice, clean, etc... I was in India for 9 days and didn’t get sick. Just don’t drink the water and eat at places where you see at least a few other white people (/notracist).
  2. Went to the WVU-Texas game in mid-November 2013... It was a cold night and their “Stripe The Stadium” game... Everyone was friendly and it was Mack’s last win at UT IIRC.
  3. Looking to pay $250-300 each for corners of end zone (upper deck). Texas side of course. I’ll be in Houston this weekend (9/14), Austin for the OSU game, and I live in the DFW area.
  4. Didn’t get a chance to watch the game as I’m at a LHN-less friend’s house (thought it was cord cutter or all-in these days but I guess not)... Who played more on the O-line? angilau or Braun?
  5. Some nice rain in DFW this morning... Seems like the first time in about a month.
  6. Some of my family is from... SE Hill County... I’ve been to the Whiskey River in Malone several times.

Yes-The location in Celina is the original and the one in Frisco opened a couple months ago. I actually live 5 minutes from the Frisco location but for whatever reason I always like to go to the original when I try a new spot. Only have a photo of the brisket but I also got the smoked turkey and enjoyed it.. Was a big fan of the bbq baked beans too.. The Mac & cheese was meh. Finished it off with the “Lemonade Pie” which was awesome.

Not even sure if this can be considered “Dallas” but I’m at Tender Smokehouse in Celina right now and can’t believe this place hasn’t gotten more play on Surly. Definitely surpasses Hutchins (which I like).
  10. The new UofH dean is a Rice grad... That should tell you something 😉. But seriously-I think the UH MBA is probably great if your company (that you want to stay at) is just requiring you to “check the box.” As other posters have echoed, the actual MBA academic content isn’t too different between schools. It’s all about the network and what companies recruit there-in that regard, it falls short.
  11. Feels like it was forever ago that I was in college even though it really hasn’t been long ago... But my younger sister is applying to schools for 2020 and has a good list... Though I think she’s underestimating herself... 3.71 Unweighted GPA from a New England prep school and a 34 ACT... Most of her peers are Ivy bound but she seems insistent on applying early to WUSTL... Hey, great school but it’s still unclear to me what appeals to her there besides the fact that not many people from her school go there. Also going to apply to Rice, UT Comp Sci, and a bunch of safeties if she doesn’t get in to Wash U. Best of luck to everyone!!
  12. I posted a review of smoke sessions in some thread a number of months back... My impression was “meh” but maybe I hit it on a bad day.

Considering driving over to Panther City today.. How long is the line usually?
  14. If you’re still looking for ideas, might I recommend Western Norway? Road trip from Bergen to Alesund. Second Slovenia as a good suggestion too. Don’t go to Croatia if you want off the beaten path.

Just seeing this now but I’ve eaten here before as well and I agree it is an awesome spot. right on Gloucester rd.
  16. It’s pretty much impossible to get into McCombs straight out of undergrad.
  17. I grew up in Massachusetts and lots of bars there have a ridiculous rule where they don’t accept out of state ID without a second form of ID. When I go out up there when to visit family, I always use my global entry card as a secondary form of ID. Otherwise, it’s useless.
  18. The lottery has prizes in multiple sizes. I was just surprised I found sAAver availability this close in during peak season.
  19. Hit the lottery and found J sAAver availability two months out on DFW-JFK-LHR-MXP. 57.5k miles and $29 in taxes... Plus the DFW-JFK leg is on a 757 so lie flat seats to start the trip off... Now, I may be flying LEVEL to AA in Y on MXP-BCN-BOS-DFW on the way back... But damn are one way fares from Europe-US expensive on legacy carriers.
