Sometimes life chooses for you. I do dream of moving somewhere that I'm not surrounded by idiots, but I have what I have, and it's pretty good.

Are you on a septic or other on-site sewer system? If so, I'm glad for you. If you, like most people, are on a public utility sewer system, ask the folks who work on the collection system, lift stations, and at the treatment plant if they are having the problems for you. A surprising number of things will flush down a toilet. I have seen panties, bras, men's boxers, swim trunks, tees shirts, photographs, folding money, string, a banana in a condom, and other things that I'm sure were flushed that had to be pulled out of a lift station pump or made it to the bar screens at my plants. Just because you can get it down the toilet doesn't mean it should be in the system.

I have to go with maybe. I'm not familiar with these specifically. I have heard that truly flushable wipes are being worked on, but not that anyone has made it happen yet. Biodegradability is not a good measure for judging how these will affect a sewer system. Paper towels are plant based and biodegradable, but still cause problems in sewer systems. Your hideous pumpkins, which I love, are biodegradable and plant based, but they would cause problems in a system for sure. Try this: get two glass jars with lids, between a pint and a quart each. Fill each up half to three quarters with water, then put a wipe in one and an equivalent amount of toilet paper in the other. Put the lids on and shake them for 15 or 20 seconds. If the wipe falls apart like the TP does, they're good to go. If not, please don't flush them.

This. I live less than 20 miles from pyle field, so I can't hope for a nuke. I'll have to settle for the Earth opening up and swallowing them all, or a tornado. Maybe a volcano springing up at the 50. Something like that.

There are NO flushable wipes! Those damn things are horrible. They make massive plugs in sewer lines, clog and cause excessive wear on pumps, clog aerators, and generally fuck up everything in a sewer system. I've been retired for two years and still have a visceral hatred for them. I'm glad she likes how it makes her naughty bits feel. As long as she throws them in the trash instead of flushing them.

Fucking fascists.

You're close. Keep looking down the path shown by Germany, Italy, Spain, and Hungary to see what happens in 2026.

This assumes that the $12 billion will be paid out. And if it is paid out, it will go to ADM, ConAgra, and noted soy bean farmer Scott Bessent. I doubt that any "little guys" see a dime of it.

I love the thought of Senator Jasmine Crockett. Imagine her questioning a trump nominee for any position. My only concern is whether she can win a statewide seat in Texas. Redneck, racist, sexist Texas.

I want the delicious spectacle of aggy losing to Miami and missing Georgia for yet another year.

I have no idea where they got the oakum from. It had to be in storage at the shop, because the repair was done late at night, and no stores were open. It was a strange night.

America is the land of huge expense for capital improvements, but hardly a dime for maintenance. In all of the plant improvement projects that I helped with we specified the pumps, blowers, and other equipment based on best value over the expected life of the equipment. We spent a lot of time and effort to get as close as possible to the actual maintenance costs needed, then put the anticipated annual maintenance costs in our budget requests every year. Every year the finance department took those specific numbers out and put in their own, much lower, numbers. Then they wondered, every damned year, why our maintenance costs exceeded budget every year. When you add that maintaining burried utilities is difficult, expensive, and inconvenient, you get ancient, decrepit water and wastewater lines that fail more and more frequently. In 1992 assisted with a repair on a broken water line on the courthouse square of the city where I was working. The line was installed in 1912, and was made of oak barrel staves. Basically about 500 feet of two foot long, 12 inch diameter oak barrels. We repaired the break with PVC and oakum sealant and got it back in service that night. That city did not replace the barrel stave pipe until around 2006, from what I was told. That is not uncommon, especially in smaller cities with very limited budgets.

I'm not too pissed about him sleeping. He can't fuck shit up while he's asleep. No, I'm more disappointed that he keeps waking up.
