Isn't it great to see strangers reaching out to each other and connecting? -

Is the meathead, #50 for Shaw, signed with aggy? That would track.

My dad had a homemade "portable" 8 track player that was an AM/FM 8 track dash mount player in a plywood box with a pair of Radio Shack speakers and a transformer to convert it from DC to AC. It weighed about 10 pounds. He'd run an extension cord out to the pit and we'd listen to Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, Charlie Pride, and Big Band music on it while smoking chicken or brisket. I have digital copies of some of these albums, and to this day, 50 years or more later, I still expect that 8 track cachunk where it changed tracks in the middle of some of the songs. It kinda seems weird without it. I wish I knew what happened to that beast. I'd love to have it for old times' sake.

I used to work with a former Sailor who loved to tell folks, "You know, the Marines are a department of the Navy. The men's department." He loved his time in the Navy, but enjoyed being around Marines. He would have made a hell of a Marine, had he chosen that course.

Spare parts, decoys, decoy drones, worn-out-is-better-than-nothing flyers. Take your pick.

You know that this man told his wife that there is no way to "clean this up" that would give any useful information, but his wife bitched until he posted it. She won't accept his word for it; she has to hear it from someone else. Married men know.

For corps turds, it is.

Congratulations! I'm glad that you seized the opportunity and made it happen.

For my first LPs, I got The Beach Boys "Endless Summer" and ELO "A New World Record" for Christmas. The first that I bought was "Sergeant Pepper's...". I don't remember my first 45, but it was probably a promotional that I won from our local radio station in a "Name That Tune" type of contest. ETA - I just remembered, I bought "Philadelphia Freedom" by Elton John for my first purchased 45. The first cassettes that I bought instead of mixing my own from the radio were Chuck Mangione "Children of Sanchez" and Andrew Lloyd Webber "Requiem", purchased together. My first CDs were Tears For Fears "Songs From The Big Chair" and Dire Straights "Brothers In Arms", again purchased together. I can't remember first download.

No, I've never seen footwear that I thought was flushed. I did help clean out a manhole that had been used as a trash dump by a construction crew that had a flip-flop in it, along with debris like trimmings from 2x4s, bricks, shingles, a broken hammer, and various trash. They popped the cover off and just used it as a dumpster until it started overflowing. Assholes.
