  1. Well, considering how actual tickets aren't even necessary half the time, I'm assuming screenshots are perfectly acceptable.
  2. We can't make it this year, but if anyone is looking for a new place to hang (before, during, after game), please go see Ben and his kids at the Big Dawg stand in the back corner of the food court. They've hooked us up for years, they are the nicest people, and the Kool-Aid pickles are weirdly awesome.
  3. So he gets a TO after the ball is snapped. Cool.
  4. Torn down for residential remodel. Lots of changes to that (my) neighborhood. The Burger King will be a 3-story office building. And worst of all, the Randall’s on 35th is closing in a month to make way for another mixed-use residential complex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. @MaybeACoordinator called it. Bravo.
  6. Which is why he was so cavalier about getting rid of the knife he used to slash his own tires. Even if his cop buddies found it, they wouldn't turn it in. The plan all went to shit when he got hit in the head -- maybe when a bullet ricocheted off the pavement?
  7. Agree with all of this. And I think the people he paid to shoot at him weren't supposed to actually hit him.
  8. Daddy Murdaugh allegedly stole millions from his firm: "The law firm said it had told Mr. Murdaugh of the accusations on Friday, and that he and the firm agreed that he should resign. Mr. Murdaugh’s lawyer said his client had expressed his 'regret and sorrow.' "The law office did not say how much money was missing, but a member of the firm, speaking on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to disclose company information, said the amount was in the millions." https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/06/us/alex-murdaugh-murders-law-firm.html
  9. Yes, the official story is that the classmate was hit by a car. But the victim's mother is adamant that the injuries were more consistent with his having been beaten to death.
  10. Now for another twist: On Monday, Murdaugh issued a surprise statement saying that he was quitting the law firm his great-grandfather founded a century ago and entering rehab. On Tuesday, Murdaugh’s spokesperson confirmed to The Daily Beast that the father-of-two was “in rehab currently,” but declined to provide details about the facility or the nature of the program. “The murders of my wife and son have caused an incredibly difficult time in my life. I have made a lot of decisions that I truly regret,” he said. “I’m resigning from my law firm and entering rehab after a long battle that has been exacerbated by these murders. “I am immensely sorry to everyone I’ve hurt, including my family, friends, and colleagues. I ask for prayers as I rehabilitate myself and my relationships,” he said. What Murdaugh, 53, did not not mention was that he had been forced out of the firm, Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth Detrick, on Friday amid allegations of theft. “His resignation came after the discovery by PMPED that Alex misappropriated funds in violation of PMPED standards and policies,” the firm said in a statement Monday evening. “A forensic accounting firm will be retained to conduct a thorough investigation. Law enforcement and the SC Bar have been notified by PMPED. This is disappointing news for all of us. Rest assured that our firm will deal with this in a straightforward manner.” Murdaugh’s attorney, Jim Griffin, confirmed to The New York Times that his client left in response to the accusations and that police knew about them before the alleged shooting. Griffin said Murdaugh felt “regret and sorrow” over his departure. https://www.thedailybeast.com/alex-murdaugh-top-south-carolina-lawyer-shot-months-after-family-murder-says-hes-going-to-rehab?ref=home
  11. Plenty of Topo with lime or grapefruit at Randall's, but they haven't had 12-packs of regular Topo for over a month now.
  12. Here is the petition. The 14th Amendment segregation claim is something else. Silva v. Eanes ISD.pdf
  13. Sounds like that might be news to Aaron and Ivana.
  14. Here we go: Ivana Silva; Aaron Silva as next friends of minors v. Eanes Independent School District; Eanes Independent School District Board of Trustees 8/30/2021 D-1-GN-21-004592 Constitution. Plaintiffs say defendants' mask mandate for Eanes ISD students goes against the state governor's executive order banning such mandates and "violates clearly established precedent regarding the non-segregation of students." Plaintiffs seek injunctive relief.
  15. The same ringleader of the EKF group?
  16. Yes, my sophomore had no idea anything had happened. Other than the KXAN report, the scant info we've gotten has been through parent circles (and I'm sure much of that isn't all that accurate). I'm surprised and disappointed that there isn't more reporting on this.
  17. Yep, I have a sophomore and just about threw up when I got the message.
  18. And I will add: both parents are highly educated, which fits one of the general anti-vax molds.
  19. Add into this group the alternative health people. I know a couple with two young kids who are hard core anti-vax and anti-mask because they use alternative preventative measures that they say "actually help" -- things like nebulizers, supplements, eliminating dairy and gluten, regular exercise, etc. They won't be convinced to take the vaccine themselves until one of their health-guru podcasts says it's okay. It's maddening.
  20. CVS -- they hassled me about insurance info "for the system," but I refused. Anywhere you go, they'll ask your kid to say his/her DOB, so be sure to rehearse that before you get there.
  21. I got my 11-year old vaccinated before summer camp. No regrets. I know of plenty of 10-11 year olds who did the same thing. Walgreens checks for proof of DOB, so don't go there. And don't give them insurance info.
  22. Eanes sent this “clarification” to all staff yesterday. The upshot is that they can’t/won’t enforce mask wearing. Those are some shitty selfish teachers to refuse masks around medically fragile students. Truly, no words. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. KXAN report: https://www.kxan.com/news/education/eanes-isd-teacher-has-face-mask-ripped-off-by-parent-while-others-yell-at-her-school-reports/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Don't necessarily disagree on the outdoor sports thing. But inside gyms, locker rooms, and training rooms -- that's a different story.
