  1. Score! I bought this on iTunes many years ago and then my Mac video card went dead and the email I had was no longe with in memory bank. I signed on to Apple TV TV to check out the free offer and The Wire, Party Down and Breaking Bad are available without having to sign in for the free offer. Watch an episode from season 1 and then top it off with a PD episode.
  2. Kicking and Screaming. It had nothing to do with soccer.
  3. It’s a Disaster. Directed by Tex-ex Todd Berger. End of times comedy about dysfunctional couples. Pretty good although a misstep with David Cross’ role at the end.
  4. Philippe Noiret playing Pablo Neruda, soundtrack by Luis E Baclov, a dying performance by Massimo Troisi and Maria Grazia Cucinotta. Eskimos Horn’s posted photo is reason enough.
  5. Hoop Dreams. Eight Men Out. Friday Night Lights. Raging Bull. Miracle. No particular order. There’s a lot of good ones to consider.
  6. The Kinks - Village Green Preservation Society. Return to a simpler life The Who - Quadrophenia. A Mod teen tries to figure his place in life.
  7. Texas scored 2 points from 13:14 to 4:21. That’s the reason for losing. Teams don’t win games with that kind of scoring drought in the second half.
  8. Moseley will do well at Villanova and he’s already a complete basketball player.
  9. The women are playing direct and up 3-0 on Colombia. Is this only on ESPN+ in Spanish?
  10. It was a game you didn’t want either team to lose because it was so much fun watching them play.
  11. ^Too many to choose from in this movie. ^3:29 is when the women speak alone.
  12. Wow. The Wylie East Coyotes have come a long way. Fort Bend Clements is undefeated and has the Akeem brothers plus a seven footer who is 195 lbs.
  13. Stony point is in Round Rock. Just got back from Lake Travis v. New Braunfels. 5’7 v 6’6 didn’t go well for NB.
  14. And like when Jackie Daytona keeps a toothpick in his mouth.
  15. That was my first thought. Damn catholic upbringing. Ones I feel they need to justify for liking. Blockers Harold and Kumar: Guantanamo Bay.
  16. The trick now is for texas to bring that intensity and effort to every game. Don’t wait to get punched in the mouth, start punching. It will be a struggle to win games, but thats the only way to play with this team.
  17. I would be for changing the title to “why'd you break my reading glasses, bitch.“
  18. This book is excellent. https://www.amazon.com/Captured-Story-Abduction-Indians-Frontier/dp/0312317891#:~:text=The Captured%3A A True Story,9780312317898%3A Amazon.com%3A Books On New Year's Day in 1870, ten-year-old Adolph Korn was kidnapped by an Apache raiding party. Traded to Comaches, he thrived in the rough, nomadic existence, quickly becoming one of the tribe's fiercest warriors. Forcibly returned to his parents after three years, Korn never adjusted to life in white society. He spent his last years in a cave, all but forgotten by his family
  19. Tough movie but good. I really liked the director’s movie Shoplifters. And will see Monster when it is available.
  20. Being a member of the trailing boomers, After School specials were a big thing in the late 70s. Reading Writing and Reefer was one of these.
  21. Thoughts on game, Olympic roster and 26 World Cup final. Add McGlynn, the Bosnian wing Bajratavecic and Luna to the Olympic team roster. Start Cardosa over Morris as a 6 and use Sargent as one of the 3 overage players. Why did ggg start three dm’s? Morris Atencio and zawadaski (who played cb). We have a dearth of quality center backs and he uses a dm as one. Why did Sands as a dm, not play at all? And after watching multiple gold cup games at Jerry World, I think it’s a horrible place to watch soccer. The corner kicks were fucked up because the field wasn’t wide enough. And seeing a final four there the sight lines from above suck. Watching US v Argentina in the Copa America semis at upper deck NRG stadium was so much better.
  22. It wasn’t strictly high school, but Breaking Away fits for high school friends figuring out what to do in life. The tail end of the boomer generation born 60-64 is who I have in mind but it deserves a wide audience.
  23. Cormorant this morning at the river.
  24. Went for a 40 minute swim in the Comal this afternoon. It was just me and the cormorants trying to stay underwater. The water felt great until I got out and then I yelped all the way to the car.
