  1. Great quote from Lamar Brown to On3 today (deciding between LSU and A&M this week): “People they think it’s who gives the most money but honestly what’s going to help me decide is who has the best opportunity for me and my family in the future,” Brown said. “Can they help in life? Are they showing love? Stuff like that.”
  2. Tennessee On3 mod on Rouse: I’ve spoken to his father. They are adamant that they aren’t doing any interviews before his 7pm announcement tomorrow. It’s my belief that neither school knows as of right now. Could it change? Yes. I always watch the national predictions in these instances. If none come in from someone like Steve or Chad then nobody knows and it’s a unicorn in these recruiting battles. I spoke with Steve and he has nothing to make him come off his TN pick. Chad hasn’t been told either. As of right now, it certainly feels like everyone is flying blind. We will see…
  3. From Spiegelman. Pretty easy to read between the lines here.
  4. When Fasusi went to OU last year we all were mostly okay with it because of a 2026 OL we wanted and that OL wasn’t Felix Ojo. Pumped to have Turntine in the class. Checks a lot boxes on and off the field.
  5. Fong just flipped his pick to Tech for Ojo ”Beyond the belief in the program, Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong are hearing an exciting NIL package has been extended that would make Ojo among the highest paid in the 2026 class.”
  6. We wanted Lee and pursued him as such until the very end. I don't think Texas "missing" on Krempin or Roseborough had much to do with Ojo and Turntine. They liked both and would have taken them for the right price. A&M decided to overpay for both.
  7. I'll take my chances that the 17-year-old with a dad who played DT in the NFL will add weight in college.
  8. I think there is something to be said for the way Turntine has handled things, considering how long he has been on recruiting radars and is now being nitpicked to death, vs how Ojo seems to be handling things.
  9. The breadcrumbs OTF seems to be dropping are that things are looking good for Turntine and not so good for Ojo, and Gerry in particular doesn't seem to be too upset by that. He seems to have some strong opinions about Ojo being ranked way too high.
  10. Bobby said this morning on Coffee and Football that Guervil went to Florida for seven figures.
  11. “It was a tough decision, but I followed my heart and Florida is the place for me,” Guervil told Rivals. “When I left Texas, I thought it was Texas, but I came home, I thought about it a lot, I prayed about it and Florida was in my heart.”
  12. Actually, it's the opposite when you are going to be a senior. Seniors have zero draft leverage, so you often see them sign for pennies (the signing bonuses for seniors are like 5-10k). So you are basically weighing going back to school to collect a NIL paycheck and sign for pennies next year vs taking the six-figure signing bonus now.
  13. I think Saunier might be trending towards the draft. Throwing well on The Cape and has an interesting pitch mix. Weiner seemed to unlock something in the second half of the season. Any pick after round 10 can sign for up to $125k without counting towards the bonus pool MLB teams are allotted, so he could be in line for a six-figure signing bonus even as a late-round pick.
  14. Michigan 247 writer on Turntine (the last bullet point is peak 9.95) Last week, Michigan landed two of their top three overall tackle targets in four-star Malakai Lee and three-star Marky Walbridge. With top target Bear McWhorter also committed on the interior, the Wolverines (as we reported upon Lee's verbal) are in a position of power. One name who remains out there is Top100 John Turntine, who is expected to make his college decision on July 4th. A couple things on his recruitment: - It's believed that none of Turntine's four finalists know what he's going to do. After announcing his commitment date, he and his family/camp have gone radio silent and appear dead set on deliberating close to the vest before making a decision. - Michigan adding Lee and Walbridge (who are two clear tackles) made things more difficult but not impossible with Turntine as they've been pitching him as a prospect who could play anywhere along the line. Add in Ty Haywood and Andrew Babalola last cycle and Michigan's depth chart at tackle is a factor. - Texas, meanwhile, is in a position of relative desperation as far as wanting to add another tackle. They look like they'll still be the pick for Felix Ojo but after missing out on Zaden Krempin and Malakai Lee (after a late run) they will be able to pitch tackle or guard to Turntine with a clearer path to either position. - Last note comes from a great source: 'it could be any four of his finalists' Later added in the comments: "My personal read remains that he'll end up choosing Texas."
  15. IT IT is hearing from multiple sources Texas is trying to pick up the pace on Frisco athlete Jalen Lott. This is likely tied, at least in part, to Texas' trailing position for Kaydon Finley. We don't know how far this will go but it's a development in the right direction. Previously it seemed Texas was resigned to letting him go to USC or Oregon. At last check USC had the most aggressive offer on the table. Relative to this cycle (where costs are lower than last year), it's a big offer. Lott commits on July 8.
  16. Looking around some classes in the SEC and what the hell is happening at Auburn? https://www.on3.com/college/auburn-tigers/football/2026/commits/ I feel like we’ve barely heard their name connected to targets we are after in the southeast.
  17. Gerry mentioned over the weekend that we had the highest NIL offer on the table for James Johnson, so I don't think we are just sitting back and taking it on the chin.
  18. Maybe OTF has done it before and I missed it, but that’s the first time I’ve seen NIL referenced in the Finley recruitment.
