  1. We’re looking at stopping in Nashville on our way to see family in June. We’d have all day on Sunday and time Monday before we left at noon. Wife and kids like music stuff. We also like outdoors stuff. I’m agreeable to anything. Any recs and must dos?
  2. I know this one at least initially is supposed to be insulated a little from the main MCU, but there were posters up for the post blip relocation / rehome for all the dusted people that came back. But the Ethan character didn’t mention the snap with the holocaust. Is he team Thanos was (half) right?
  3. Lol. I’m a nerd (Obi Wan) and engineer, not a lady doctor.
  4. Sort of an interesting related occurrence - I’ve had 3 operator candidates from companies making hand sanitizer over the last week that are seeing layoffs or reduced hours and wages. Combination of high input costs and cratering demand.
  5. A lot of the 2-3 year hourly staff has. Some have almost doubled their pay rate. Myself, I like what I do and have worked myself in to a decently high position and salary for my age. I’ve looked around casually and would have to take a pay cut in most cases. Or move to Crosby.
  6. I’d love to only get a 6% raise. My company, after not giving a raise since 2019, will be giving an average of 3.25-3.5%. I will say at least we bumped the starting hourly rate because it has been hell competing for skilled mechanical labor when Buccees pays more. We also got a notice from different chemical suppliers of another 10-20% price increase starting in May on 3 of our chemicals (2 of which are our main ones that make up the bulk of our expenses).
  7. I’m a marvel nerd and didn’t know anything either. I like issac, thought it was humorous in spots, and it was actually more suspenseful than I expected. Overall enjoyed it.

    Getting old sucks

Does anyone know if you can take predisolone long term? I’ve been having a lot of pain from right shoulder blade to left from January. Dr have a me a 5 day prescription (6 pills day one, the. 5, 4, ext). Felt great 6 hours after first dose. Mild pain started doing back a day after stopping. It’s been 2 weeks and it’s got owrse
  9. Is that scaffolding? Haven’t seen that setup before if so. It would be mildly terrifying being the person cutting that beam out.
  10. Well it had to do with (stopping) penetration, so I thought you might have some relatable knowledge
  11. @Steel Shank or @ROFL BOX or any of the others here that might know what they are taking about: any thoughts?
  12. Will smith ain’t gotta cuss to sell records, but I do
  13. Anyone ever gotten attacked for all the Micheal J Fox shaking jokes?
  14. You have pictures of the damaged area? It sounds like a small area. If you have left over floor it might be pretty easy to do.
  15. New account bumping an old thread. Who's sock is this?
  16. Just wait for those car deals guys!! Reading the March 2020 and on posts is amazing. We had no idea.
  17. We’re getting another 10% on our big 3 raw materials in April. I had to pull the usage and cost data last week, and we are now at or over double on chemicals since January of 2021
  18. @closetohumping this thread started strong but has been a bit of a letdown. You running a sub 40 second yet?
  19. This isn’t survival related exactly, but i love those screwdrivers that have the shaft that pulls out so that you have 8 different size screw drivers, and the empty socket drives 3/8 or 1/4 I believe. I keep one in every car and a few around the house and tool bag. Very convenient way to organize the screwdriver bits.
  20. Well hold on before you give up on buying the property. I agree it would be awesome to have your own chunk of land. On mobile homes, you can get decent enough ones at a low price and not worry about resale. You mentioned comfortable and reliable. Maybe go in to some more details of what you need. And what do you want that you couldn’t have with an RV? Since it sounds like something you might build on eventually, what about an RV plus a small warehouse (think you can get 20x30 for $10k). So if you wanted a washing machine and dryer you could have it in there plus whatever else you don’t want to drag back and forth. Again, if this a forever place, you could add a nice outdoor covered deck and kitchen that you eventually build next too. Lots of possibilities. Don’t give up yet.
  21. 2-3 years ago I looked around on pricing, and I didn’t get all the craze over it because it didn’t seem like that much of a price break, if any. Depending on what size you need, I’d look for a nice rv or mobile home.
  22. Houston has HAR. You can look at what has been listed for rent in the past 6mo/12mo/24mo and see what actually rented for what rate. Better data than Zillow, but you can make Zillow work if you don’t have a HAR like site available.
  23. I like the style on the storage under the counter
  24. Wow. Lots of work there. Finished up? Just saw you asked what part we were at. We have a place on Grover that we stay at some when not AirBnB’d. We stayed there thanksgiving through first week of January because we figured this was the last time we’d have a chance to do that with the kids stopping home school.
  25. Several threads this might have been better for but I’ll try here first. I have a low income triplex I’m rehabbing with cinder block exterior walls. I’m going to frame the inside and put drywall up. I want to keep moisture from getting in and rotting the framing or ruining the drywall. Options to do that seem to be: - exterior paint made to block water penetration (needs to be painted anyway, so this is happening) - 6 mil poly on interior wall before framing - painting interior with similar paint as exterior before drywall - just using the insulation board that has the foil vapor barrier on one side Seems every asshole in the internet has an opinion on this, and surly has a lot of assholes, so I figured I’d ask.
