  1. Wow. Ok. Was not quite alive. One of the older guys around here seems to remember it in the 100s, and he’s not an idiot. Guess that’s what you get for getting old.
  2. Would that even equal the 70s prices when adjusted for inflation? Didn’t oil hit $100 back then?
  3. Thought this might be a good place to ask: What is the difference between a commercial and residential after the purchase (in Texas)? I know there are different loans, but are there different permitting / legal restrictions. And is there an easy place for the non lawyer to read up on it?
  4. Maybe I’m getting old enough I can’t distinguish those ages anymore, but at first glance….
  5. I think I watched all of tng, probably most of it twice. I only saw parts of deep space 9, and very little voyager. Is there a list of episodes that would get me caught up enough for Picard?
  6. I’m not sure I understand. Why would we care if it is “illegal” or that we’re not allowed to shoot them down if we are facing destruction? Or do you just mean we haven’t worked on the technology because we agreed not to?
  7. Take it and use it as a down payment on a rental. They can fire you / lay you off whenever they want. They don’t have to give you that PTO you have accrued.
  8. Why would we block? Ramp production and make money selling it to everyone.
  9. And I was worried about framing out 3 800 sqft units. Thanks for making me feel better.
  10. Im glad I only have to buy lumber for my side job, but it still sucks. Please fix. Thanks in advance.
  11. I could have made so much money on that -$30 oil. If only I’d had enough inflatable pools, but those became impossible to get at the same time!
  12. At the start of the pandemic, I finally got my wife to watch xfiles. We binged all the originals in order over a 2-4 month period. Was really strange blowing through something like that that I had initially spent years watching, waiting for next week or next season. Was also weird watching people age before my eyes. Anyway, my wife fell in love with the show and with Gillian Anderson. But then we got to the first extra season. We watched 2 episodes (if already seen it). It just fell apart. Even rewatching the originals i was excited to watch the next. But the ‘new’ seasons were just awful. Hopefully Futurama does better.
  13. I didn’t know a thread existed but should have guessed. Glad shadow pointed it out to me, because i discovered XL. Shane is a beating, but it’s fun.
  14. Pre-pandemic, at least in Harris and Galveston most of what I saw was 65-80%. I don’t know what anything went for once pandemic hit, because even though I was watching the sales, property values were changing weekly it seemed. Right of redemption is 2 years on a homestead, 6 months otherwise. And there is a 25% fee to purchaser owed during first year, 50% in year 2. If you’ve got the money to throw down on the higher bid properties, you’re either going to keep the property or make a nice return.
  15. Lulz. Clear some people don’t deal with purchasing millions a year in raw materials to make other things. All of our inputs to our processes are near or over double. Packaging is up at least 50%, maybe more. Haven’t checked in a while. We had one chemical supplier tell us they couldn’t get us our normal strength acid, they could get us a lower strength (so we use more to make same thing) and we were going to have to pay normal price plus extra in shipping. That or we shut down 2 units. Electronics and most other parts are long lead time and expensive. It’s all a pain to deal with.
  16. Incorrect. Excess above owed plus fees go to previous owner. Not in Texas. Nope. Correct
  17. 7%. Not much. And with the price going up, it’s already started the process of bringing up our own supply.
  18. Looks like Houston/Pasadena at along 225 every 6-8 months.
  19. We hardly get anything from them as it is.
  20. So why didn’t he actually use it? Looked like there were still functioning tanks.
  21. Yeah, so I looked, and you’re not correct on this. Yes, they producers have to sell a show so they do invent some drama and chop it up. But they are naked. They do have to try to survive, and the dinghy fever and broken toes and all that are real. They give them a bit more medical treatment than they usually let on (ivs, vitamins, food if someone is near death - I’m sure this is required by insurance), and occasionally the contestants convince a random crew member to give them some food or they’ve actually stolen some. But they are living roughing it for 21 days naked.
  22. Back up on naked and afraid. I’m under the impression that is mostly not staged / scripted.
  23. There was no re-roofing work done today.
