  1. He has "forgiven" others like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio once they kiss the ring.
  2. I've seen all of those plus Patton, Tora! Tora! Tora! and Summer of '42, so I'm more like an officer.
  3. They are too stoned to care. It's like you haven't even tried that new strain of Alaskan Thunderfuck.
  4. Either way he looks incompetent. I hope he doesn't get some sense, dump Vance, and pick up Haley. She's the only one who can help him.
  5. Sorry for going back to this, but this just made me weep. "seemed to beckon to his touch" is downright brilliant. "Everything in the room struck a deep chord of desire; his infatuations and lusts weren’t limited to the couch. The antique-styled melamine coffee table with its printed veneer surface stirred something deep within him. He admired the craftsmanship, the way each groove and edge seemed to beckon his touch."
  6. You know who's not JAG? Burt motherfuckin' Auburn, that's who.
  7. J.D. Vance: the more kids you have, the more votes you should get to be able to exercise. You know, as envisioned in the Constitution: That's not Biden. That's a hologram.
  8. By the way, even though this story is completely contrived, I want to see J.D. Vance deny that he ever had sexual relations with a couch.
  9. Holy shit! "Polyfurniamorous" is one of the best words I've ever read.
  10. More evidence of the great enshittification. Delia's Tamales raided by feds because apparently there is evidence of wage theft, social security fraud, financial abuse, discrimination, and workers being made to work as housekeepers in Delia Lubin's home. https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/delias-tamales-fbi-19593974.php
  11. Equestrienne Charlotte Dujardin is bidding to become Britain's most decorated female Olympian in Paris but was filmed "engaging in conduct contrary to the principles of horse welfare" and has been forced to drop out. Charlotte's pretty cute and I'd like an opportunity to review the conduct. While I'm alone at home. For educational purposes. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/charlotte-dujardin-horse-video-rider-olympics-2024-b2584864.html
  12. Holy Shit ... not a cult at all: https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/gallery/2024/jul/19/donald-trump-supporters-give-their-views-at-rnc-in-pictures It's hard to say which one is the worst. Candidates:
  13. You've clearly not read a single one of Helobius' posts.
  14. Republicans claim to revere Reagan. That's why he's an effective foil. Example: Kamala says, "I'm old enough to remember when Ronald Reagan said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" Now Donald says "Do whatever the hell you want!"
  15. He's been sucking orange cheeto wang on Twitter for months.
  16. I'm telling y'all ... Kamala has them flummoxed. 1) As a female, she represents more than 50% of the population 2) As a minority, they can't give voice to what they really thing without proving themselves to be the racists they've spent the last 16 years denying that they are 3) She's got no real baggage and they can't slut shame her without seeming petty, judgemental and to be not caring about the issues. Were I Kamala, I'd go on the offensive: "Over the next few months, I'll guarantee you'll hear a lot about my relationships, about DEI etc ... That's because they have no vision, no plan, no dreams. The only thing they know is the politics of personal attacks. That's what my opponent has left as their legacy. Personal attacks, grievances and whining. I may have had some political differences with the man, but can you imagine what Ronald Reagan would say about what the Republican party has become?"
  17. I had an anaphylactic reaction to something a few years ago and got down to 77%. I drove myself to one of those 24-hour emergency clinics a few miles away and they were amazed that I made it. I've had it happen in the past so I am pretty well versed on all this stuff. The thing is we can't figure out what triggers it. I went to the Austin Allergy clinic and did the whole test thing and the only thing I was allergic to was cedar, which I already knew. But, yeah ... 77% is scary as hell.
  18. You never know what worse fate your terrible fate kept you from.
  19. I tested positive on Friday, felt like shit all weekend, began feeling better on Sunday night, felt much better yesterday and feel great as of tonight ... nearly 100%. I took this Covid journey with my devices --- my oximeter and my fitbit ---- and it's interesting to look at it. Last Wednesday night, my resting pulse was 61 bpm, my overnight breaths per minute at 13, and my temperature .2 degrees above average. I began to feel bad on Thursday. My resting pulse on Thursday night was 66 bpm, my overnight breaths per minute at 17 (highest ever) and my temperature .9 degrees above average. Friday and Saturday I felt awful. My resting pulse on both nights was 73 bpm, my overnight breaths per minute were 21 & 22, and my temperature 4.1 degrees and 3.9 degrees above normal. Everything was elevated because my body was trying to fight off the infection and because my lungs were operating so inefficiently. Sunday night my resting pulse edged downward to 69 bpm, breaths per minute were 18, and my temperature 1.1 degrees above average. Monday night my resting pulse was down to 65 bpm, breaths 15 per minute, and temperature .2 degrees above average. It was the same thing with my oxygen levels. I'm normally anywhere from 95%-98% on the oximeter. As my lungs filled with mucous, that went down to the upper 80s-low 90s, to the point that I'd have to consciously deep breath to restore it to MAYBE 93. But now I'm back up to 96%, my resting pulse is 62 as I type this etc ... It's fascinating to be able to measure both an invader's advance and your body's response to it. There were a few times when I woke up in the middle of the night feeling unable to breathe, slapped my oximeter on, and I was down around 85% oxygen levels. Felt like I was suffocating.
  20. I am dead certain that Gunther Eagleman is a bot --- a very successful bot. 131,000 tweets in 3+ years? Bot.
