  1. That was on the OL for their terrible blocking and nobody reacting to the corner blitz. Nobody was open by the time the pressure came. Looking at the replay I noticed the defender jumped to block the pass even before Quinn lifted his right arm to start his throwing motion. Why? Because Quinn slapped the ball with his left hand. Look at how the defender reacts to the slap. They know that’s a tell before Quinn throws the ball.
  2. It would have been funny if he went to Ole Miss after the Egg Bowl incident.
  3. All we need to get the downfield passing attack going is the fastest guy in combine history, a second round WR draft pick, a 4th round TE pick, and a 6th round WR pick and Quinn will be back to looking like the stud he was last year.
  4. He takes four steps in the 3 step drop. He catches the snap, hops backwards with his left foot and then starts the 3 step drop. As soon as he gets to the top of the drop he hops forward with both feet at the moment Bolden is breaking free. The ball should be thrown to the 30yard line but Quinn is not ready to throw because he hopped forward after the drop. He shouldn’t have to scramble to make this play. Top of drop Hop forward when Bolden is breaking inside After hop, feet not set to throw
  5. He also said after the Washington game that Quinn made a perfect throw and it was AD’s fault for running a lazy route.
  6. Quinn’s passes get batted down because he slaps the football with his left hand immediately before he throws which tells the defense he is about to get rid of the ball. The fade to Moore should have been outside to the back of the end zone and Moore should have caught it untouched. Instead Quinn throws it to the inside and Moore has to adjust and gets hit by the defender. Quinn’s terrible throws are making receivers adjust and become vulnerable to injury.
  7. Colt was throwing tons of picks his sophomore year. I remember he struggled and we were like damn next year is make or break. And Colt came out on fire. Colt’s 3rd year as a starter in 2008 was great. Quinn’s 3rd year as a starter is not. Were we talking about Colt’s footwork in Year 3? Because that’s where we are. The OL has its issues but Quinn is taking sacks regularly like Ndamukong Suh is on defense because he’s a statue in the pocket.
  8. You are conflating the idea that moving on from Quinn means we are saying Arch is going to win us a championship. That is not what is being said. What we are saying is that Quinn is NOT going to lead us to a title, so every snap with Quinn is just wasting time when we can be giving snaps to someone who could potentially lead us back to the top. Those of us who are over 35 have seen Colt and Vince play with our own eyes and we can clearly see that Quinn is not even in the same stratosphere as them. You know it when you see it.
  9. Are we all watching a different game? Who else thought Quinn “looked like a super star” against Vanderbilt? Here’s an excerpt from the article. Quinn Ewers Bounces Back In Big Way in Texas Longhorns Win vs. Vanderbilt But in the Longhorns' 27-24 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, Ewers was the best version of himself, and he proved the doubters wrong. Of course, the game didn't get off to the best start, with a tipped pass getting intercepted on the Longhorns' opening drive, leading to a Vanderbilt touchdown. After that, however, Ewers looked like a superstar, completing his next 17 passes in a row for 211 yards and three touchdowns, and giving the Longhorns a commanding 21-10 lead at halftime. https://www.si.com/college/texas/news/quinn-ewers-bounces-back-in-big-way-in-texas-longhorns-win-vs-vanderbilt-01jb5kcwj3g5
  10. It’s kind of insulting to Maalik that Quinn says “I made it to the playoff without any backup” in the commercial when he missed two fucking games.
  11. Sark could gain experience by playing Madden. You really get the feel for clock management after you play the game for a few hours.
  12. Play calling is definitely a problem. Sark is used to calling plays for NFL caliber QBs
  13. We only beat Bama last year because X and AD could chase down those stupid moon balls to the end zone.
  14. Dude has a tell, he always slaps the ball with his left hand before he throws it.
  15. Everyone is gonna say Quinn did good because of stats but that 32 yard gain was all YAC and Quinn threw it at the LOS. Throw it forward goddamn it
  16. He’s the only one who can catch Quinn’s inaccurate throws without getting hurt because he’s tall.
  17. It’s a business decision. Sark looks better if Quinn looks better. If Quinn looks like shit, it’s an indictment on Sark and how he develops QBs. He needs Quinn to keep playing and “prove himself” in order for Sark to keep the QB guru mythology alive. It’s selfish for the fans who want a competent QB.
  18. He can portal to UNC so Mack and Sally can coddle him and teach him how to play football like a big boy.
  19. This was Joel Klatt’s analysis of the final sequence with Quinn during the Washington game. He said what we were all thinking when he explains how bad Quinn was. Starts at 9m
  20. We should change that other thread title to TEXAS QB TALK: Hot shit or cold diarrhea?
  21. It’s not about Arch being a savior. It’s about Quinn not being good enough. And Quinn is not good enough to lead us to a national championship. Playing a QB for anything else is a waste of time. I’d rather find out if Arch is the guy and watch him play like a freshman than sit through another season of Quinn checking down constantly just to raise his draft stock. Quinn doesn’t have it and the only time he elevates his teammates is when they have to jump in the air to catch one of his poorly thrown balls.
  22. Quinn getting 3.6 yards per play vs Arch’s 1.8 yards per play is terrible. It’s under 5 fucking yards. A 27 game starter in his 3rd year is only getting twice the number of yards per play as a redshirt freshman with only 2 starts. Do you hear how bad this sounds? Almost as absurd as saying a 3rd year starter at Texas needs to be benched to build confidence and will prove himself by bouncing back against Vanderbilt.
  23. So you’re saying Quinn would have to bring the boom to another school?
  24. It was actually 7 turnover worthy plays “Since Week 1, though, Ewers' passing grade has gone down every single week, with his worst game yet coming against Georgia — where he recorded a career-high seven turnover-worthy plays. Ewers was even benched at one point in the game for Arch Manning in hopes of creating a spark that never came. On the year, he already has 10 turnover-worthy plays, which is more than he tallied in all 2023.”
  25. This chart really stood out to me since Quinn is always throwing those checkdowns and most of his passing yards are coming from YAC. Lowest average in P5. Source for reference even though they are talking about IU here:
