  1. State Champions Girls: Foster defeats Brazoswood Boys: Brazoswood defeats Boerne Champion What a great 1st year for UIL Water Polo.
  2. Lots of Club Water Polo started popping up around the area. Lake Jackson has a club, but I'm pretty sure some of the Brazoswood kids compete for Viper Pigeons, one of the better, if not the best Houston Club, which practices in several West Houston locations. If Brandeis girls can hang with them, then San Antonio Water Polo isn't as far behind as we could be after decades of not prioritizing the sport (SA teams took the lead in the 80's).
  3. Four Teams left. My girls made it to the Regional Final and were in control, but we just couldn't close it out. The atmosphere was incredible. I couldn't coach my kids in the flow of play. It was just SO loud. But NISD is representing and San Antonio is back in the game, as we should be. State Finals in San Antonio next Saturday. Girls State Final Four: Southlake Carrol, Brazoswood, San Antonio Brandies, Foster Boys State Final Four: Brazoswood, Foster, Boerne Champion, Marcus/Southlake Carrol Take some time to go watch a game next year, or if you are in SA, go watch the Finals. You will enjoy it.
  4. Regional Tournaments Tomorrow - Been such a fun and cool season so far. Girls Region 1 - Flower Mound vs Rockwall Heath and Southlake Carrol vs The Woodlands Region 2 - Brazoswood vs Bridgeland and Friendswood vs Cypress Ranch Region 3 - Foster(ranked 3rd in the country) vs Round Rock Westwood and Cypress Creek vs Round Rock Region 4 - San Antonio Brennan vs Harlingen South and San Antonio Brandeis vs Harlingen Boys Region 1 - Southlake Carrol vs Conroe and Marcus vs The Woodlands Region 2 - Brazoswood vs Strake Jesuit and Clear Lake vs Dawson Region 3 - Foster vs Round Rock Westwood and Cypress Creek vs Austin High Region 4 - Boerne Champion vs Harlingen South and San Antonio Clark vs PSJA
  5. Heading back for a couple of days over Thanksgiving break. The family will most likely just stay at the resort we go to, but I need to get out somewhere to watch the USA vs England game. Any recommendations for a sports bar? I believe it will be a 12 noon kick off Cabo time.
  6. That's a wrap on District Play for Texas' first UIL Season. Playoffs start the week of October 10th with Bi-District. Such a different energy this year now that we are UIL. We had local media coverage and much more exposure around campus. Pretty cool. My girls team finished 1st in District and boys were 2nd. Girls have the best shot at making a run at Regional Finals. For the boys, Boerne Champion(lots of club players I coached over the past two years) is the clear favorite. They aren't ranked because I'm guessing their coach hasn't entered them in the system. I think they could surprise someone at State. Current Rankings according to MaxPreps.... Girls 1. Foster 2. Southlake Carrol 3. Cypress Creek 4. Brazoswood 5. Flower Mound 6. SA Brandeis (who we have a chance to play at Regional Finals if we put it all together) Boys 1. Brazoswood 2. Highland Park 3. St. Marks ( ineligible for UIL playoffs .) 4. Marcus 5. Southlake Carrol 6. Dawson 7. Cypress Creek 8. Strake Jesuit Get out and check out a game. Kids are true athletes and they work hard.
  7. Ghost Defense......right
  8. Hmmm....
  9. He's a little competent. Love supporting our local Alamodome High School Team. Pretty bummed with the Texas loss. That didn't go the way I thought it would
  10. Sorry you had that experience. I hope you are doing ok now. I know it can be rough sometimes playing CUSA teams. Hang in there buddy. We are all pulling for you. Things can only get better. Chin up big guy. Maybe get better seats next time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You sound sort of soft Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Looking forward to being there. Just happens to be the TISCA Swim Coaches convention in Austin this weekend, so I get to be at my first game since the Notre Dame home win. After attending Texas, I was a season ticket holder for almost 10 years. But I graduated from UTSA and once the football program started, I've been in the Alamodome every home game since. I thought about wearing a Roadrunner shirt and a Longhorn hat. Just doesn't make sense. I will pull for UTSA. But.... I will also be thrilled when I see Texas looking good. I love college football, and these are the two teams I love to support. Can't wait. I expect a Texas win, but I would love to see a good game.
  13. Not if you are headed to Poteet.
  14. I'm guessing no 12:30PM Spanish Mass? They are missing out.
  15. Seeing that staff picture, I would have never guessed Catholic Church.

I've been investing in a USA Jersey for my 2 boys every year that they have been alive. The plan is to present them with a box full of brand new adult size vintage jersey's when they are 20 and 18. One of them has 8 so far and the other has 6. Going to be real hard to buy one of these.
  17. Source for this? I'm curious. But skeptical.
  18. TLDR....but.. Cleanest I ever felt... The day I left a high paying pharma rep job to go teach and coach. Hated pushing expensive diabetes drugs to doctors treating poor patients, knowing that Metformin and other options would do the job.
  19. Pretty good haul so far. We are going to work on the main trunk tomorrow. Brother has a smoker so he will be taking a lot. But I’m thinking about converting my gas fireplace to wood this year since this tree was part of my home value. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. USA Water Polo covered the big day. Two of my players were first up on the interviews Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. After a one year Covid delay, tomorrow is the big start day for UIL Water Polo. I just got back from 5 days at National Junior Olympics in Dallas and my voice is shot, so tomorrows practice will be interesting. Talked to quite a few coaches about the upcoming season, and there is definitely lots of excitement building. It's an opportunity for us to really bring some recognition to the sport on our campuses, even though most of us have been playing for years. This past year, I was a part of the US Olympic Development coaching staff for the Southwest Zone and I will tell you that there are some strong athletes coming out of Texas. Several were selected to attend the National Camp, and although non made the final Youth National team, the potential for Texas athletes is evident. We just already have such strong aquatics programs and athletes.
  22. Homeschooled kids can already participate in public HS sports teams. It's up to local school boards. Not going to be very common.
