  1. Bill Simmons reverse jinxed them. He and Russillo went on a long diatribe last week about how bad the Suns were. Sure enough, they rip off 4 wins immediately.
  2. They’re going to make the Kool-Aid movie in real life aren’t they?
  3. Love that place. $5 slices.
  4. I thought they already said Dam was out for the year?
  5. Good win. They blew a lead, but they flexed on defense when it mattered. Also kept Young in check after getting torched by guard after guard recently. Green appears to be getting hot at the right time.
  6. What could the Hawks get back for Young? They have some nice young players, but don’t have a star sans Young. He’s never going to try on defense, and he’s too small to get in the way/rebound. He might be a fit on a team with really good/long wing defenders and an elite rim protector. He’d fuck shit up on the Spurs. I hope that never happens.
  7. Are there any articles or interviews on Sheridan’s research/writing method? I know Larry McMurty was an avid reader. Does Sheridan have a giant library we don’t know about? I know he is/was close with the old West Texas ranch hands. I wonder how many of his ideas came from old timers stories and anecdotes?
  8. My guy blows leaves into a pile and then bags them. You know like you’re supposed to do. Leaf Blower Man is basically the Texas version of Florida Man. I have no idea where these people come from and where they go when not blowing leaves. - I saw a guy blowing leaves under an overpass on I 10 the day Harvey blew into Houston. It was already starting to flood. - After leaving a McDonald’s drive thru at midnight last week, I saw a guy blowing leaves in an empty parking lot. Just fucking bizarre. My best guess is that Leaf Blower Man is the new guy on landscaping crews and they just walk around and try to look busy.
  9. Here’s the screenshot on the Kelly Iko interview. I thought I attached it in my previous post.
  10. Are you familiar with Sheridan’s work? He could be just getting started with Alex.
  11. What’s the true recounting here? I know they were stringing Schloss along on a new stadium, and he probably didn’t like Alberts.
  12. Good show. I can do a lot worse than eating prime rib and drinking bloody marys on a Sunday morning. Sure beats church. Zach Top was my favorite. I Never Lie is a banger. Parker put on a good show, but he tried to sell shit throughout. I developed a good parking/exit strategy that usually got us home in under 30 minutes. I’m taking it to the grave, so don’t ask. On to the next one.
  13. I have returned. I drank a ton of dogshit Hornitos during rodeo. The good stuff tastes that much better now. I revisited the 124.7 proof Woodford Batch Proof from a few years back and loved it.
  14. Peak Shiv was great. She threaded the thiccness needle for a season or two.
  15. Kelly Iko is a bitch made pussy and bad at his job. Goes on a 10 minute rant how the Rockets could only beat Memphis in the playoffs, and he’s scared of every other team in the Western Conference field.
  16. The last time Gilroy used Vader in a scene, it worked out pretty well. Second trailer looks amazing.
  17. LOL at Chicago being a hidden gem. I know some folks that moved down here, and they still marvel at how much more house they can afford in Texas. There’s always a trade off. Californians are quite odd, but I’ll agree with the posters above. If money wasn’t a concern, and I didn’t have to interact with my neighbors, I’d live on top of a hill in Carmel.
  18. I think I missed it, but where is Alex going with the couple? I worry they’re predators as well, because Sheridan. if there are snow drifts if Fargo, can Spence get around them coming from Amarillo? Feels like one of those old math problems. At this point, I’ll take Spence getting home by the beginning of S2 E7 and a 90 minute finale.
  19. I don’t feel any sympathy for him. He got his dream job, and was paid well for 2 seasons while doing a poor job. He’ll now be paid handsomely to go away. We should all be so lucky.
  20. Does Jokic have an injury or is this load management? edit: He seems to have an elbow issue.
  21. Segura Vidas Sparkling Rose is another good one for $8. We tear those up in the pool every summer. Drinks better than a lot of sparkling roses in the $15-20 range. I find even expensive champagne somewhat bitter so no recs in that category.
  22. Bojangle’s I hope.
  23. RIP. Getting cut off at the Hobby Pappadeaux made my travel highlight reel.
  24. Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a banger for $16. I’d probably have to go up to an Artemis Stag’s Leap before I found another wine I liked better. Yarden Red Wine is great for $12, and it’s kosher. My favorite under $10 is sold at Target. California Roots Red Blend. It’s tough to beat for $5.
